Half Bloods

Saytrs & Centaurs

I sat on my queen size bed, with it's grey bed spread, staring at my pastel yellow walls trying to think of something to draw in my sketch pad. My door slowly creaked open to reveal my mother and my step father. I never met my real dad. My mom tells me that he had bigger things to pursue, things that would help create a better world for me. I don't know what kind of world he imagined but I imagined a world with a real father. It's not that I'm not thankful for my step dad Perry, because I am he's would be a great father to someone, it's just he's not mine.

My mom stared at me while her and Perry stepped through the door and took a seat on my bed. My mother released a sigh.
"Oh god, what is it? You never sigh unless it's bad or big news! Which one is it?" I stated staring at the both of them. Perry laughed and just said "Very big news, and we're not sure how you'll take it."
He nervously glanced at my mother, who was playing with the heart necklace that adorned her neck.
"Sweetheart, we've lied to you your whole life. We tried to keep you safe from it, but it's getting worse."
My mind began swimming bad thoughts throughout. Was I adopted? Why would they tell me that now! Was my dad really around looking for me and turned out to be a bad guy?
"Okay, keep talking?" I said slightly worried my usually strong voice shaking violently.
"I know you're father, Perry knows your father, because Perry was sent here to keep you and I safe from his world, and the people in it. You know your father because you studied him in Greek mythology. You're a half blood. The daughter of one of the Gods in Olympus, the only child I believe of this God, and you're in danger because someone put out a want for you're head just for being his daughter." My mother let out in one breath, while Perry held onto her hand.
I let out a laugh I couldn't hold back. "What are y'all on! Have y'all been doing drugs and fried your brains? Do you even hear the things that are escaping your mouth?"
I kept giggling and laughing until my mother and Perry's faces never changed completely serious. I quit laughing and just stared at them.

Perry finally spoke after my mothers "big news" and said,
"We're not lying. You're whole life has been about protecting you. You're best friend Liam. He's a saytr. One of the best for the only child of your father. Why do you think you've known him since he's been a child."
I let this sink in. I was sure they were lying. There couldn't be any truth to this. That's why they call it Greek MYTHology.
"You all are lying. You're trying to get a rise from me and pick on me."
My mother finally said,
"She doesn't believe me. You're going to have to prove it to her."
About the time the words came out of her mouth, the world around me faded black to be replaced with vibrant hazy pictures and snippets of the past.
My mother had her hands pressed against a beautiful mans chest, and she was kissing him with such passion. It shifted to her giving birth to me, with the same man by her side smiling. It shifted again to him holding me speaking into my infant ear. I could hear it like he was right beside me speaking it again. "I won't be here with you, but I'll always be right there watching you, and protecting you. I've never seen such a beautiful sky, as the colors in your eyes. You're the most important thing now. You'll change the world and I know it." The picture changed again to me, in school staring out the window, drawing. I know that drawing I drew a man I imagined in my head.
The flashbacks ended, and reality finally came into view. My mother and Perry came back into view. I thought it in my head, if he's a God, and my father he can hear me.

Dad, if you can hear me, tell me to believe it, tell me I'll meet you one day, tell me you've really been there.

I waited for a reply, it didn't take long for a deep voice that could calm anyone to speak back, and say,

Believe it, know I've watched you grow everyday, and watched you're struggles and wishes to change it. Know you'll meet me soon.

That was my answer. I believe it now.

"Okay. I believe you, now what?" I asked my mother and Perry with a weak voice. Perry and my mother let go of nervous sighs with smiles. Perry spoke first.
"Pack the necessary things like clothes, toothbrush, shoes, and shampoo and conditioner. We're taking you tomorrow to Camp Half Blood."
"Camp Half Blood?" I questioned them.
"It's a camp for people like you with the blood of a God. It's where they keep half blood safe, it's far in the woods in another country. It has a force field surrounding it, that only half bloods can go through." My mother answered with a smile.
I couldn't help back ask it even if it pained me to ask, "What about you guys?"
"We'll be right here waiting for you when you come back. We can't go through this with you at the camp. This is all you, they can protect you better." Perry answered honestly looking down, but continued, "When the treat has been taken down, you can come back, but I doubt after you have a taste of Camp Half Blood you'll never want to return to this place because you'll be surrounded by people who understand." He finished and my mother squeezed his hand.
"Get packed up and get a good nights rest. We love you, and this is for the best." My mother said as her and Perry stood to leave me to pack, and play scenarios in my head.

When the door finally clicked shut, I stood from my bed searching for the drawing I drew in school. I found 10 drawing including the picture I drew in school that my father showed me. I had drawn my father before I even knew him. I had dreamed of him and I having talks. Where those real talks or fake?
I packed my things, took a 30 minute shower, and changed into pajamas. I sat in my bed remember my dad's voice, remembering how he showed me him watching me, remembering how his voice soothed me. Yet the constant steady thought was, "why couldn't they have just told me I was adopted?" It seemed much more better now.

¥¥¥Next Morning¥¥¥
I woke grumpy, and slowly the memories from last night hit me like a train. This is the last time I'll be in my room. The once bright pastel yellow walls seemed dull and unhappy. The once simply grey but beautiful quilted bedspread seemed to have faded over night. The drawers of my white dressers were now empty. I drug myself out of bed, and trudged into the kitchen. My mother stood in the kitchen making eggs and bacon, a normal sight that now will be long missed. I sat at the black granite counter top, on the black stool. My mother hummed a song, while Perry, who was still in PJs and a T-shirt was pouring us all orange juice.
"Are you excited about today?" Perry asked as he walked around to the stool beside me.
"I'm nervous. What's it like there?"
"There are people like you, who have fathers that are Gods and Goddesses. You train and fight, go on quests to save the world. You already know how to throw knives and shoot arrows, so you're set in some parts. You meet people that change your life."
"Well, it sounds like fun, it just won't be home." I said back to Perry with a shy smile.
"Eventually it will. I promise." He smiled back.
My mother eventually set down a plate of eggs and bacon, as a knock sounded at the door. 3 knocks letting us know it was Liam. Perry stood from the stool heading towards the door. There was Liam, in his wheelchair. Him being in a made sense now that I know he was a saytr. He had told me once that he was in a wheel chair from birth because of a deformation of his legs.
He rolled in smiling, and slapped Perry on the back and said good morning. He rolled over to my mother.
"Morning Ms. Blaze." My mother smile fondly at Liam.
"We finally told her Liam!" My mother yelled excitedly to Liam.
"What! Really? Does that mean I can't finally get out of this god awful chair!" Liam shouted out at the same tone as my mothers.
We all laughed and nodded, as Liam stood from the chair stretching and doing jumping jacks making everyone laugh.
"I hated that thing!" He said laughing as he ate the food my mother prepared.
"So, Liam, are you excited to go to Camp Half Blood with me?" I asked him as he chomped down on a piece of bacon.
He smirked at me and replied, "You do mean excited to return right? I had have serious training to be your satyr. I had to go there often."
"I'm just happy one of us knows about this place." I smirked back.
He went on to tell me of all the people he met, and the people there. All four of us sat in comforting conversation throughout breakfast. When we had all finished and the plates were rinsed and placed in the dishwasher we all stood. Liam went into the living room, while my mother, Perry and I all went to our rooms to change. I grabbed the clothes I had laid out the previous night. My black jeggings, my purple racer back flowy tank top, my leather jacket, and combat boots. I finished it by hooking my trademark pendant around my neck. As I was finally walking out of my bathroom and into my bedroom, a sound like a million claws on my ceiling made me turn my head up, as two creatures fell through. They were shaped like birds. One spotted me and shot a feather, with an arrow head at me. I screamed loudly and ran for the door closing it quickly before three more feathers stuck to the door where I was. Liam, Perry, and my mother stood at the door. Perry had adorned himself with knives while Liam had the cross bow. My mother has one blue pearl in her hand. I had reached the other side of the room when the birds came crashing through the door, flopping and screeching.
Perry yelled, "Go! Ill hold them off as long as I can. Get her to Half Blood!" My mother handed Liam the blue pearl, as I grabbed my three bags. Liam threw the pearl at the door, and it began to create a portal. I grabbed my mothers hand, but she quickly shook it off. "I can't go with you," she yelled, "I have to stay here go." I latched on to Liam's hand, as we ran through the portal.

We ended up at the front of the camp. Thick trees surrounded the area. As if he knew we'd be there a centaur came the opening in the trees.
"Ms. Blaze, we've been expecting you. My name is Chiron and I'm the activities director here at Camp Half Blood. Please both you and Liam come in."
We proceeded into the camp to what looked like an old timely cottage. We continued inside to the the office. He smiled fondly at us, and asked us to excuse him for a minute. Liam took this chance to look at me.
He said, "Before this whole things gets started you need to know who your father really is, and why it's such a big deal," I nodded my head instructing him to continue. "Your father is Hades. God of the underworld, and God of Regret. Hades didn't have many half blood children, in fact I think you are the only one. You're a deadly weapon, and you'll learn why soon."
He ended his speech just as Chiron came back into the office.
"Ms. Blaze-" I interrupted him, "Please, call me Florence," he continued, "I'm sure you know that Camp Half Blood is full of people like yourself. We teach you how to fight and how to come to terms with who you are. You also should be aware that because of who you are and because of you're father, we're going to have to lie about your father. For now if anyone asks, your father is Apollo, God of music and art. Is that clear?"
"Yes sir." I answered. Still stunned that my father is HADES!
"One last thing before Liam shows you to your new living arrangements, you do in fact have a half brother, his name is Ashton Irwin. He lives here with the same lie at he is Apollo's son. You two are the only known children that Hades has."
I just nodded my head. I have a brother. I have a family member here. Chiron released us to leave telling Liam things that he needed to tell me later. Liam and I continued to what we're now my new living arrangements, while we walked people stared, and some whispered.
Liam wrapped his arm around me as we walked into the hut that was mine and his home now. "I hope you don't mind that I decorated how I saw fit for the both of us. The hut on the outside was painted white, with a black door. The inside was much larger than it appeared. Two queen size beds sat on each wall adjacent to the other, with bathrooms on each side. The walls were painted dark grey, with white comforters, and white picture frames, filled with pictures of me and him throughout the years. My dresser was white, and the closet was a door beside the bathroom. Liam's stuff was already placed where it needed to be since he lived here to begin with. "I love it Liam. It fits us both nicely." I cooed, as I started to unpack my belongings out of my three bags, placing hygiene, and appearance things into the bathroom, and clothes into the dresser and closet. I finished about 15 minutes later. Liam was sat on his bed reading a book I didn't recognize. He finally noticed my being finished and said, "How about we go meet that brother of yours?"

¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥
"Hi, I'm Ashton! I love seeing new faces around this place! I'm the son of Apollo." Ashton greeted me warmly. I couldn't help but smile, when his smile revealed dimples. My grandma always said "People who have dimples were kissed by Angels." I still believe it. He had a head full on light brown curls, and a pair of black skinnies with a light green v neck shirt. He cast his hazel green eyes my way still smiling. I smiled in return and laughed at him, as I took a seat on his bed, with a smirk. I side glanced Liam and saw him smirking as well. Ashton nervously looked from Liam and I. He nervously laughed and said "What?" Looking directly at me this time. "Well Ashton Irwin, I'm your sister, Florence Blaze." He smiled brightly. "Daughter of Apollo. Normally his daughters don't wear dark colors, but it fits you well." I started laughing as did Liam. "Oh no, Ashton," I started, as I stood from the seat, grabbing his shoulder, to pull his head closer to my mouth, moving my mouth closer to his ear, "I'm you're REALLY sister, sweet cheeks." He lightly shoved me and laughed saying something along the lines of do what. I laughed at his dumbfound expression. "Son of Hades, meet Daughter of Hades." Liam finally said slapping Ashton shoulder. Ashton's face went from shocked to full on joy. "Holy shit! I have an actual sister! Not a fake one!" He stated as he ran towards me lifting me up and hugging me tightly. I giggled at his childishness but I loved it. I had a brother. This was actually gonna be okay.

¥¥¥Harry Styles POV¥¥¥
I was just about to land a blow on Luke when Niall screamed my name to high heavens. Frustrated I turned to the sound of his voice. He was out of breath and overly excited, typical. Niall joined Luke, Zayn, and I as we stood in a circle.
"What was so important Niall?" I laughed at his excitedness.
"New fresh *breath* meat at Camp." He said.
"Boy or girl?" Luke asked with a smile.
"Girl." Niall answered, his breathing sounding slightly better.
"Who her parent that's a God?" Zayn asked pondering.
"I think she might be Apollo's daughter. I saw her and Ashton hugging, but he normally doesn't interact that way with new family." Niall answered. "You should see her man. She's totally fit, tall, long brown hair, blue eyes, and a pretty smile!" If Niall was commenting her, she had to be pretty. He doesn't even comment on Aphrodite's daughters. Niall, Zayn, Luke, and I were some of the first few kids at this camp. The old camp has apparently been ransacked by some guy named Luke looking for Percy Jackson two years ago. Not to be confused with my friend Luke. We were young at camp half blood, and we've grown up together. We're the best at fighting because of all the years training. We've always been close. Nothing would ever change it I don't believe. We began to walk and talk about this new half blood.
"What's her name?" I asked out of curiosity.
"I wasn't close enough to get it mate. We could always ask Irwin?" Niall quipped.
"Sounds good." Luke smiled. Luke was always smiling to have the father he does. I guess we all turn out different than our parents.
"It's just weird you know? Apollo's daughters normally wear bright colors and always have a shy smile. This girl had on black combat boots, with black eye make up. Tell me that's not strange, but then again, she seems American." Niall pondered as we walked to the huge Gazebo that held everyone when we ate.
"Yeah, American is a little different I assume." Zayn answered Niall.
As we passes Liam's hut, we all stopped, everyone heard that one of the best saytrs got a big charge, but no one knew who. That was until we saw Liam with a girl we'd never seen. "That's her! Forgot to mention Liam's her saytr! My bad!" We all shot Niall death glares, as we proceeded to the gazebo. We finally got there and laid back on the chairs just resting a little.

¥¥¥Florence's POV¥¥¥
Liam and I were resting in our hut, when a knock sounded at the door. Liam removed himself from the bed with a groan, which I laughed at.
"I don't see your fat ass getting up to do it, you hag." Liam joked as he reached the door. I just shrugged at him. We'd always called each other names. He was my best friend after all. Liam opened the door to reveal Ashton. Ashton stepped and took a running leap on my bed, making me scream.
"What's up sis? Are you two coming to dinner? We're having a bonfire afterwards to celebrate you coming." Ashton said the last part for just me. I smiled, while Liam and I both nodded as I threw on shoes. We walked the two minutes to the Gazebo. Ashton had me laughing so hard right as we got near the gazebo, I had to hold onto the hand railing to keep myself from falling over. He giggled a cute giggle that girls probably swooned over. I think with him as my brother life would never be bland. We began grabbing food, piling our plates high, and laughing at another ridiculous story, when someone called Ashton's name. I turned my head to the voice, and found four guys sitting amongst themselves at a table. There was over 100-200 kids in this gazebo, why do they have a whole table? The one with platinum blonde hair waved us over. We started our walk over. Niall and another blonde with a quiff and a lip ring stood. Niall and Luke bro hugged Ashton, and fist bumped Liam. Niall spoke finally, and said, "Liam, mate, I feel like it's been forever! How've you been?" Liam smiled back at the bright personality blonde. "I've been good, taking after my charge is all."
About the time the words came out of Liam's mouth, I heard it. The undeniable sound of a knife whizzing through the air, Niall's eyes widened, and I spun quickly to see a knife heading straight for my face. I grabbed the shaft of the knife as it was an inch from my face. I let out a low sigh and turned back to the group whose mouths were all gapping. I spun the knife around my middle finger, laughing slightly as I said, "For someone who's suppose to protect me, you weren't much help there." Liam and Ashton laughed while the four others still had their mouths hanging. The boy who had originally threw the knife ran up quickly.
"I'm so so so sorry! I was trying to throw it at the rafters, but it slipped!" I just tossed him the knife and told him to be more careful. We finally sat with the four others.
"That's like the third time that kids almost killed someone, you were lucky though. That was a straight kill shot, the others got stabbed in the thigh, and one in the shoulder." Ashton told me.
"I already told Chiron someone should take those knives after the second one got stabbed!" The blonde with the quiff exclaimed, make us laugh at his enthusiasm.
"That's because you're the one that got stabbed in the shoulder." The one with black hair, and amazing eyes stated, making me laugh harder.
"I'm sorry, we haven't properly introduced ourselves. I'm Niall Horan, son of Dionysus. God of wine, and partying!" That would explain his everywhere-ness. He seemed like the type to be the life of the party. I smiled and said hi.
The blonde with the quiff that sat beside him smiled, and said, "Luke Hemmings, son of Ares, God of war, bloodshed, and violence. And no, I'm not an awful person." He laughed. I nodded and laughed with him.
The black haired beauty that sat beside him, smirked, and said, "I'm Zayn Malik, son of Aphrodite, God of love, beauty, desire, and pleasure." He smirked one last time, and now I see why he was so beautiful. No flaws, absolutely flawless.
Lastly, was a boy I hadn't payed much attention to. He was beautiful. His dark brown long curls, made me want to pull them. His eyes shown a jade color, and I wanted to get lost in them. His lips reminded me of Cupids Bow, and I wanted nothing more than to touch them. He smiled, and revealed perfect pearly whites. I think I was lost for words, then he spoke, and I almost died and went to heaven. "Harry Styles. Son of Zeus, King and father of the gods, the ruler of Mount Olympus and the god of the sky, weather, thunder, lightning, law, order, and justice."
"Holy shit. I wasn't expecting all of you to come from such known Gods, call me crazy." I said smiling. They all laughed back. We finished our food, and everyone went on their way. Everyone headed back to their huts. I couldn't get Harry's voice out of my head, so deep, and raspy, yet angelic at the same time. How could someone so angelic ever find the daughter of Hades beautiful. I'm just a sweet disaster. This is all I'll ever be. Ashton and I will always appear beautiful at first glance, but when you get to know us, the monster will show.
