Just Sounds Like

Hey! Call me as soon as you can. I don’t care what time. I miss you!

I stared at the text I received from my sister. Biting my lip I tried to hold back the tears that filled my eyes. I had barely been in London for a day and I was already missing her like crazy.

“You’re turn.” Louis announced falling down in the seat next to me. I glanced up at him in surprise to see his eyes widen slightly. I realised he could probably see the tears in my eyes. Blinking them back I quickly flashed him a smile and jumped up, stashing my phone away in my pocket.

I moved forward in front of Leanna and tried to imitate the noises she was making and the movements of her mouth. Apparently this was a good technique to do before singing. I struggled not too laugh as I made the most ridiculous noises with her.

“You might find this funny but you’ll be thanking me later when your voice sounds amazing.” She winked at me before instructing me when to do it and how long for.

“Well it’s lunch time and we don’t really have much else to do today until we talk to Simon so I think you girls can go home.” Derek announced smiling at us. I sighed in happiness.

“Yes more sleep!” I clapped happily falling onto the couch next to Louis again. I could feel his eyes on me, I met his stare. He didn’t look away though as I stared back at him. I quickly glanced away towards Derek.

“Wait. We should hear the girls sing together!” Harry announced clapping at his supposed brilliant idea. Frankie began to protest as my stomach tied itself together in knots.

“That’s a brilliant idea Harold!” Louis replied excitedly, snapping his eyes away from me. I watched him amused as he pulled his feet up on to the couch, excitement displayed over his face.

“I don’t think we’re ready for that. I mean we haven’t even sung in front of each other yet.” Kate tried to reason while the rest of us girls nodded in agreement. Louis waved her off.

“You have to start somewhere.” Liam shrugged smiling softly at Kate until she shot him a glare.

“What do we sing?” Lucinda whined. An idea came to my mind. I had seen us all do this cover on youtube.

“I know!” I screamed happily, fortunately I also scared Louis in my excitement. Clearing my throat softly, I sat up straighter and closed my eyes.

“Same bed, but it feels just a little bit bigger now
Our song on the radio, but it don't sound the same
When our friends talk about you all that it does is just tear me down
Cause my heart breaks a little when I hear your name
And it all just sound like uh, uh, uh”

I opened my eyes the moment Frankie’s voice joined mine at the last line before she carried into the chorus. I smiled at her smile and let her continue to sing the song. It was actually pretty amazing how our voices sounded together.

Each of us joined in on the next chorus and couldn’t help the large smile that graced my features. I loved singing but to be singing with other girls was even more amazing. The way our voice harmonised and bounced off each other made the song sound that much better.

It was like we were all on the same wave length and everything else disappeared. I was just singing with four other amazing girls and I loved the feeling it gave me.

I was brought back down to Earth when the clapping began as we sung the last note of the song together.

“Well done girls.” Tony complimented.

“Yep that was great footage.” Louis smirked. I glanced at him in confusion before seeing Zayn pushing a camera away.

“Really?” I groaned smacking his shoulder in annoyance.

“ABUSE!” He squealed flinging himself onto Liam. I rolled my eyes before moving away to join Lucinda.

“That was amazing.” She smiled at me happily. I wholeheartedly agreed with her.

“Can we go home now though?” I asked her softly resting my head on her shoulder. Her body shook slightly with her laughter as she pressed a kiss to my head. There was a flash of light blinding us. I glanced up, dazed slightly, to see Harry with a camera.

“Hey this is great footage. You’re all just getting to know each other. The world will fall in love with it!” He exclaimed proudly before he turned to snap a picture of Frankie trying to grab Zayn’s camera off him to see if the video was a good one of her or not. She turned to glare at Harry the moment the photo was taken. My eyes widened considerable as she took a couple of steps forward and tried to grab the camera. Harry moved it out of her way with a smirk on his face. So she jumped on his back.

“Bloody hell.” He yelled out, easily holding her body weight up but there was surprise written across his face. He certainly wasn’t expecting that.

“Gimme it Harry!” She whined, trying to reach for the camera while her legs were wrapped around his waist.

“Honestly.” Lucinda shook her head and pulled away from me to grab Frankie. I whine at the loss of contact beside me, until Louis took her place. I looked at him expectantly. He bit his lip and glanced around before looking down at me.

“Are you okay?” He asked softly. I shot him a confused look. “You looked upset before...”

“It’s fine Louis. You don’t have to pretend to care.” I joked, patting his arm. His face turned serious.

“I’m not pretending. I do care.” He said. I scrutinised his face for a moment before believing him. He couldn’t always be joking, I supposed, I mean not everyone can be that annoyingly sarcastic all the time. Even I couldn’t.

“I’m fine really. It was just a text from my sister. It’s silly but I miss her already.” I told him honestly. He smiled softly.

“Now homesickness is definitely one thing I understand. All of us boys do. You learn to lean on your friends who are around. I’m sure the other girls are the same.” He nodded towards what looked like a pile up on Harry. As Lucinda and Kate both tried to pull Frankie off of Harry with no luck.

“I guess.” I said biting my lip and eyeing him strangely. “Who knew you could have been so serious.”

“You’ve known me barely a day love. You don’t really know much about me at all.” He commented lightly. I shrugged at him.

“You don’t know much about me either Mr. Tomlinson.” I mused back.

“I know you have a younger sister. That’s a start.” I laughed at him. “I would like to know more though.”

I wasn’t sure if Louis meant that in a friendly way or he was flirting with me. There was no joke in his eyes, no wink or award winning smirk that wooed the ladies. He looked completely serious as I turned a light pink under his words.

“We’ll see.” I replied not knowing what else to say. I stood up and patted his cheek lightly and probably very patronizingly before walking away to where Lucinda and Kate just pulled Frankie off of a laughing Harry.

“Let’s go home.” I suggested to them, putting on the best puppy dog eyes I could.

“I suppose the baby of the family is tired.” Frankie puffed to me, patting my hair lightly. I frowned at her.

“Well you are the youngest...” Kate trailed off, shrugging.

“I’m like six months younger then you. That’s it!” They shrugged and began collecting their stuff.

“I’m really not going to like this nickname if it’s permanent.” I muttered before grabbing my stuff.

We said goodbye to the boys rather quickly, Louis winked at me and waved from his seat where I left him. I rolled my eyes at him and poked my tongue maturely before we walked out the door. We stopped by Jen’s office to say goodbye before making our way out the front where our van and driver was already waiting for us. We assumed Leanna, Derek or Toby had it readied. I climbed into the van and instantly let the drowsiness take over.

-

I woke up a couple of hours later and quickly called my sister. I successfully kept my tears at bay as she told me about her day at school. It was almost midnight for her so I kept the call short. But I did let her know that One Direction was mentoring us. I then proceeded to remind her that it was midnight for them and really inappropriate to be screaming like that. I received a few choice words in response.

I ended up leaving my bedroom slightly less tired and much happier then I had felt when I had gone to sleep.

“HEY!” Frankie yelled excitedly when I appeared in the kitchen to get a drink. I looked at her shocked.

“Are you drugged?” I asked her, sleep coating my voice. She stared at me for a moment before obviously thinking it was a joke and began to laugh.

“We’re going for a swim, want to come?”I glanced towards the windows at the snow that was across London. “We’re going to the heated indoor pool.”

I shrugged and agreed. Not having any reason not to. I quickly got changed before heading down to the pool with Frankie as the others had already headed down.

It took a lot of energy to keep up with Frankie. She practically ran to the elevator and began bouncing on her heels while she waited impatiently for the elevator to arrive at our destination. I giggled at her and the looks she was receiving from all the other guests at the hotel.

We finally arrived at the indoor pool which was empty except for Lucinda, Kate and Gracie.

“You’re awake!” Gracie called out happily. I nodded at her and slowly slid into the warm pool. Frankie ran and jumped over my head making a massive splash in the middle of the pool. As soon as she surface Kate jumped on her dunking her back under the water. I laughed before going under the water and coming back up so my hair was wet and out of my face.

“So Louis may or may not have mentioned something to me before we left...”Kate trailed off looking at me. I looked back at her confused. “He said you were a bit homesick.”

I looked at her shocked for a moment not sure whether I was angry or shocked that Louis told her.

“You can talk to us about that.” Kate told me moving closer as the other girls came closer too.

“Yeah. I mean I’m homesick too. I would die for a plate of my Grammy’s special dish right now.” Gracie told me wrapping an around my shoulder. I smiled at her.

“I even miss my six sisters borrowing all my clothes and everything I own.” Lucinda whined.

“You have six sisters?” I asked shocked. She nodded at me. “I thought one was annoying.” She laughed at me.

“See we all miss our homes. I even miss mine and they are only on the opposite side of London. This is a massive change and we’re used to having our families here for us. But they can’t be. So that’s why we use each other.” Kate smiled and pulled me into a hug.

“So next time you can tell us instead of talking to Louis Tomlinson.” Gracie said scrunching up her nose. I laughed at her.

“Are we missing like the main point here?” Frankie exclaimed waving her arms around. “Louis likes Annabelle!”

We all looked at her confused. Lucinda grinned however and turned to nod at me.

“He watches you all the time and picks on you. And then today he cared enough to tell Kate that you were upset. He definitely likes you.” Lucinda nodded. I shook my head at them both.

“Louis likes you!” Frankie teased me repeating the line over and over again. I dived for her and pushed her head under the water.

“Enough with your nonsense words.” I joked when she came back up for air. She spluttered and pushed hair out of her eyes before splashing me with water. Safe to say this ended in a rather large splashing fight consisting of five girls. The conversation long forgotten by everyone.
