Work Hard, Play Harder

"Who was that?" I asked Niall after he walked put of the Supermarket carrying bag full of groceries. He was sent with me to help me find Sam, and he said he wanted to get food before we search. Typical Niall.

He shrugged and pulled out grape from the bag "Dunno. Some girl."

My eyes narrowed suspiciously at the girl. i didn't get a good look at her face, all I could see was her brown wavy hair flowing from her shoulders. A smirk fell on my face. Some girl my ass... I knew exactly who that was. "Gotcha." I muttered.

"Huh?" Niall mumbled around cheek full of grapes.

"Start the car Niall. Time to go." I nudged him arm and he nodded and reaves his engine.

_____Tree House

"She's here?" Niall asked in disbelief. It didn't surprise me he felt that way... I mean we are in high school. Tree Houses seemed so childlike. But to be frank, this was the only place we ever felt at home. When our dad actually loved us, mum, him, Sam and I built this with our bare hands and camped out here for a whole week. This place held so many aching memories. A branch was broken on what looked like almost the very top of the tree and I remember falling from it, breaking my arm in the process. Sam carried me back home, which was about a mile walk. I also almost drown in the river a little ways out, but Sam was also there. All these memories is making me more urging to find Sam and bring her back home where she belongs.

"Stay here Nialler." I ordered him gently, watching him nod before I proceeded up the stairs my dad hung from the tree house. It was kinda high, and when I got to the top, my eyes met very scared ones. Sam was staring at me wide eyed like a deer caught in head lights, and a sigh fell from my lips. "Sammy." I breathed and climbed the rest of the way.

"B-Brynn?" She stuttered. her body shook from the cold and I found myself frowning at the tiny fabric she called a blanket.

"Yes... I'm here." I cooed.

I watched her swallow, and her eyes were glossy. Then tears fell from her eyes and I couldn't help but engulf her into a bone crushing hug "Shhhh, I'm here... I'm here." I did my best to sooth her by running my fingers through her ratted hair.

"Brynn." She cried into my shoulder "You didn't come for me."

"I didn't even know you left until I was out of the hospital." I explained, my other hand rubbing comforting circles around her back with my thumb.

"I don't know what to do Brynn." She was calming down a little.

"To be honest Sam... I don't either. But c'mon, lets get you back home where you can eat, shower, and get warm." As I helped her up, my eyes caught sight of the bandages wrapped around my wrist from my assault and a tear fell from my eye. I can't leave her in this world alone... I can't. No more.
