"Mrs. Kent?" I croaked as I stepped throught he open door. This wasn't Greg's moms house, and I wasn't quite sure if I was welcomed.

"Yes?" A sweet old lady voice echoed somewhere deeper into the house.

"My name is DeLaney Drake... Lile Drake's daughter." I stood up straighter as I saw an older lady walk out from behind a corner. She had white curly hair kinda like Betty White, and her eyes glowed blue.

A smile instantly grew up on her face and her features brightened so much at the sound of my fathers name "Oh Lile's girl. You must be Laney. He talked so fondly of you last time he was here." she gripped onto my hand and rubbed it with her other.

Did she have no clue that he was dead? Died from a car accident. I didn't want to bring it up if she hadn't, so I just kept my mouth closed "Yes. I'm Laney."

"Its a pleasure to meet you dear. May I ask what your doing here." Her voice was still sweet like honey and for once I felt happy and somewhat content.

"My dad..." It hurt talking about him "He said that you rented houses... I moved from Cali and i was wondering if you still rented them out." granted that was 5 years ago and they might have been torn down.

She smiled brightly again "Oh! I have one house still standing! Lucky for you it was my great grandfathers and I refused to tear it down."

I nodded and reached into my bag, looking for my wallet "How much will it cost for first rent?"

She tapped my hand making me stop looking for my wallet "If you are Lile's daughter, you are welcome here without pay."

My chest fluttered with major gratitude "Are you sure?" I asked, still skeptical "I have money."

She shook her head "Of course love... that wont be necessary"

again I felt like breaking in tears. I never cried, but when I did... it came out like waves "Thank you so much. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to ask."

She giggled "Right back at you."

"Excuse me... I am looking for a job and I couldn't help but notice a Wanted sign hanging up outside." My voice rang out clear through the abandoned Aquarium.

It seemed empty... just like my heart.

"Oh!" The boy looked up from his book. He had hazel eyes... and his hair was the color of chestnut. "Yes! We are looking for help."

I couldn't help but chuckle "What does the job incounter?" I asked, curious as to what I would be doing if I got the job.

"Mostly janitoring... cleaning up the tanks of some of the animals. We also could start teaching you some of the basics about taking care of them so you could start with that later." He explained to me, a cute smile planted on his face.

"Oh... well can I please have an application?" I asked him, holding out my hand.

He didn't give me a paper, he just grabbed onto my hand and shook it firmly "I don't really think you need an application for janitoring... it's not rocket science. Plus, I can tell you need the job... it looks like you aren't really around here."

Again I chuckled "is it that noticable?" I asked with a slight roll of myeyes .

He shrugged and stuck out his lip "Eh, just a tad."

"When do I start?"

He opened up a calender and looked through it ":Can you come by tomorrow? We could do orientation then."

"Yeah, I can do tomorrow. Will you be giving me the look around?" It would feel nice if I was around someone I sorta knew... instead of having to meet a new person being the awkward person I am.

"Sadly I wont." He frowned "I'm off that day... so I will have my employees Harry and Sidney give you the look around. Don't worry, they are very awesome people. You will be fine." He winked "Just be here by 4:30pm. Alright?"

I smiled and nodded "Will do boss."
