Triggered

"Harry called." Beau said in a small voice., her hand holding out her cracked Iphone.

I didn't even look at her, let alone grab the phone from her. I don't care. The words rung threw my head. I don't care, I don't care, I don't care. I crushed his heart. He cared and I crushed him. "Why?" was all I said.

"He's worried about you Laney... even though you broke up, he still wants to be there for you." She took a seat next to me on her large sofa. "He knew something was wrong the day you stopped by."

For once after she found me and my step dad, I looked her dead in the eye "I guess he knows me better than I know myself." It didn't really surprise me that he knew... I mean, the way I acted, breaking up with him without a specific reason.

"C'mon Laney, you can't seriously go threw with this." She let out a sigh and set her phone down on the coffee table.

I looked away once again "Go threw with what?" I asked without emotion.

"Breaking up with Harry." Her voice sounded strained, and she shook her head "Listen, I think Harry is good for you. I know about your old screwed up life, you came here to find peace and I think your peace is sitting at the Aquarium frantically worrying about you."

She didn't know the real reason why Harry and I couldn't be together. Robert would kill him... and I cant let that happen "He'll survive."

"How the hell could you say that!" She snapped.

I flinched at the sudden burst of noise and my head turned her way, looking at her "huh?"

"Harry cares for you! Your hurting him Laney and you just flat out don't give a flying shit! He's hurting because of you! So will you stop being a heartless bitch, and fucking call him! Get back together for the love of god!" She roared.

I have never seen this side of Beau. I mean, she just straight up called me a heartless bitch... the fuck did I just miss? "I-you... Harry..." I couldn't find the right words, so randoms ones just flew out of my mouth.

"Just don't think about it... pick up my damn phone since you lost yours... and dial his number. Or so help me god, I'll murder you with a baby spoon."

I raised an eyebrow and slowly picked up her phone. "I'll call him and tell him I'm alright... but I can't get back together with him." I wont risk him getting hurt.

"Yes you can. You two are made for each other... and you can't let whatever you are dealing with get in the way of that." Her vocie was now lighter than a whisper, and it was kind and gentle. Guess she's making up for calling me a heartless bitch.

Isn't that a little selfish? I'm sure if I told Harry about it... he wouldn't let that get in the way... but I wont do it. I can't. I'll keep him as a friend, so that I don't have to loose him. "I'm sorry... I can't." I wasn't entirly sure if I was talking about dating Harry again... or the phone call.

"Can't what?"

My eyes look at her and I toss the phone away "I can't call him... I can't talk to him... I can't be with him!" The with that I grabbed my coat and ran out of her house
