The Wedding Planner

Chapter Eight

Harry’s POV
Tonight I had the perfect date planned for Kennedy. I knew she hated going out all the time and for the last couple of dates we had gone on, we went out for dinner and then something else. Tonight, I was going to cook for her and then we were just going to cuddle up on the couch and watch something off of Netflix. That was the best thing ever created because that’s mostly what Kennedy and I watched. Well Kennedy watched more of it than I did. She was a huge Doctor Who fan and watched the past seasons a lot. She’s tried to get me to sit down and watch with her but something always seemed to come up and I could never do it. Maybe we could spend the evening watching the past seasons. We were supposed to have this date last night but after crashing the “girls’ day” with the boys, Kennedy and I had to go out with our families for dinner. Apparently Kennedy, Gemma, my mum, and Emily, Kennedy’s mum, had to confirm the venue that Gemma and James were going to have the reception. I was shopping in Tesco when my phone started ringing. I looked down at the screen and smiled when I saw the picture I took yesterday of Kennedy and I popped up on my screen.

“Hello puppet,” I replied using the Pirates of the Caribbean reference.

“You’re so creative,” I heard Kennedy’s giggle.

“What can I help you with beautiful?” I asked.

“I was just wondering where you were,” she said, “I got home early from Gemma’s and you were nowhere to be found.”

“Oh I’m Tesco’s down the street picking up some things for tonight,” I said, “Do you want to come down?”

“Not really,” she said a cute quiet voice, “I already changed into lounging clothes and I don’t want to change again.”

“That’s perfectly fine love,” I said as I grabbed some chicken breast.

“Make sure you grab some milk,” she said, “You drank the last of it this morning.”

“Milk got it,” I said, “Anything else while I’m here?”

“You better be making a great dessert Styles for tonight,” she said and I could picture her smiling, “That’s what I judge on.”

“Good thing I’m going to bring the best dessert of your life,” I said walking down the frozen dessert aisle.

“Anything chocolate will do for your hint,” she said and I just laughed at her hint.

“Thanks,” I said, “That takes away like four things in the dessert aisle.”

I smiled at her laughter and shook my head.

“I’ll let you finish shopping,” she said, “See you soon.”

“See you soon. Love you,” I said and hung up the phone.

I quickly finished up my grocery shopping and walked to my car while the few paps who always seemed to follow me took pictures. I never understood the whole following thing they did. I was just a normal person doing some grocery shopping. I wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary. I was just being a normal nineteen-year-old living on his own. I pulled out of the parking lot and headed back to the flat. I was grabbing things from the back of my Range Rover when I felt a body next to me. I turned to my right and saw Kennedy next to me in a jumper, leggings, and her hair thrown up in a messy bun (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=79914346).

“You took your contacts off,” I said and she smiled lightly.

“My eyes were burning for some weird reason,” she said as she grabbed some bags.

“That is weird,” I said as I shut the door.

The paps were taking pictures of us and yelling at us.

“Are you two dating?” one of them asked.

“Are you a sibling?” another one asked.

I made sure to keep Kennedy protected as we headed towards the building and into the elevator.

“So when are we going public?” she asked as the elevator doors closed.

“We should just go public tonight,” I said, “Just get it out of the way.”

“Then I can get through the massive amounts of hate tweets,” she said and I shook my head.

I never did like the negative things said about Kennedy since she had gotten to London and we went out in public together. A lot of people called her fat and ugly and I knew exactly how that affected her. I was one of those people who crushed her self-esteem in secondary school. I still beat myself up about it when I think about it. I couldn’t believe that she forgave me so quickly. Maybe she just forgave me but will never forget the emotional scars I caused her. I was frowning when I noticed that Kennedy was standing in front of me looking concerned.

“Are you okay?” she asked and I sighed.

“You just know what I think about all the negative things said about you,” I sighed, “I don’t want you to have go through all the bullshit that comes with dating me.”

“Harry,” she smiled lightly as we got into the flat, “I’ve dealt with enough of your bullshit for years. This is nothing.”

She smiled at me but I saw through the smile she put on for me. I knew the things were getting worse and it was taking its toll on her. One day I overheard her talking to Andrea about it on the phone. She was crying about it and when I walked in she quickly hung up the phone and tried to play it off that she just finished a really sad movie.

“You know if it’s too much you can tell me,” I said as much as it hurt me to say the last part of the sentence I knew it was true, “If you want to walk away and just be friends I’ll understand.”

“Harry,” she said turning around from the counter and looked at me, “If I wanted to just be friends I would have never said yes to you a couple of weeks ago.”

“Okay,” I said still a bit worried about what would happen when we went public, “but you have to tell me if it gets too much Kenni. I’m here to help you too. You’re not alone.”

“I will,” she said, “Now stop making things so serious. We’re supposed to be on a date.”

I just laughed and took off my jacket and shoes. I walked out of the kitchen and put my shoes and coat where they needed to be and I walked back into the kitchen to see that Kennedy left out all of the ingredients for me to make my famous chicken and rice casserole.

“I’ll let you cook,” she said, “I’ll be in my room if you need me.”

She then kissed my cheek and I started on dinner. I put the casserole in oven and then headed to my room to change into some lounging clothes. I was changing when I heard Kennedy on the phone.

“When are you coming to London Paul?” I heard her ask, “What do you mean you quit? I thought you wanted to work for me? They gave you the position? Well you’re welcome too!”

I then saw her walking out of her room with an upset look on her face and I rushed out of the room pulling on a shirt.

“You okay?” I asked walking into the kitchen as I watched her pour herself a glass of wine.

“Paul just quit on me,” she said, “Now it’s only going to be me and Andrea running the shop when I actually buy one.”

She looked a bit stressed and I didn’t need her to be stressed. Tonight was going to be a stress free night and we were going to enjoy each other’s company without the worry of a wedding or being famous.

“Then it’s his loss,” I said, “Paul sounded like an idiot too. Who picks finals over coming to London?!”

Kennedy laughed at my lame attempt to get her to smile and she just shook her head and hugged me.

“Thank you,” she mumbled in my chest as I pulled her closer to me.

“For what love?” I asked.

“Being my rock the last month,” she replied, “Being there while I just vent. I know I don’t say it very much but thank you.”

“That’s what I’m here for love,” I said looking down at her and pecking her lips, “And I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.”

She just smiled at me as the timer dinged signaling that dinner was ready.

“Oh food!” she exclaimed and I laughed at her excitement.

I pulled out the food and fixed her and myself a plate. Kennedy was currently sitting in the living room with the telly on. It was Saturday night and I smiled because she had X-Factor on. Kennedy and I ate and made comments on the singers and who we thought should get votes. At the end of the show of course Kennedy had to give votes to everyone we talked about. I then thought of something and quickly pulled on my phone.

@Harry_Styles: Spending the night with the best girlfriend in the world debating over who we should vote for on X-Factor. @Kennedyisagirlsnametoo #loveher #xfactor #wecantpick #everyonedidgood

I then hit send on my twitter post and I watched Kennedy’s phone light up and she looked at the tweet and shook her head.

“You just let it slip Mr. Styles,” she giggled, “We’re going to be the talk of the town now.”

“Oh you’ve been the talk of the town Beautiful,” I said as I pulled her close and kissed her forehead, “You’ve been the talk of the town since you arrived.”

We then spent the rest of the night curled up on the couch, sneaking kisses every now and again.
