The Wedding Planner

Chapter Two

Harry’s POV
The boys and I finished our sound check for the charity concert we were putting on tonight when I noticed Gemma wasn’t where she was when we first started so I figured she was with the wedding planner they booked. Apparently this girl was only nineteen was booked full for a year but she cancelled all the weddings to plan this one. I wondered if Kennedy, James’ younger sister, was going to be coming home for this. I haven’t seen her since she was a foreign exchange student and then made the choice to stay in America. It’s been three years and I know she probably hated my guts since I treated her so poorly when we turned thirteen. I was having weird feelings for her and when I asked my mates they told me to be mean to her and to bully her and the feelings would go away. They actually didn’t go away, the bullying made the feelings stronger and made me feel even worse than I had in the past. I never got to apologize and I know I needed to do so when she got here. We were walking towards the room where we would be hanging out in when burst through the door.

“I’m good at what I do,” we heard the girl say and for some reason she sounded a lot like Kennedy but I couldn’t see her since her back was to me.

“Gemma is this the wedding planner you hired?” Liam asked.

“It is actually,” Gemma grinned, “Boys meet Kennedy Wilker, James’ younger sister. Harry you remember Kennedy.”

I had made my way to where I could see the girl’s face and my stomach dropped and I could feel my face pale. The boys knew about Kennedy and I could feel their stares. She was fixing her papers and when we looked up at me she smiled lightly at me.

“K-K-Kennedy,” I stuttered.

“Hey Hazza,” she said using the nickname she gave me when we were younger.

I smiled lightly at the memory of her giving me that nickname. We were playing hide-and-seek when she found me and tried to say ah-ha and Harry at the same time.

“Hi I’m Niall,” the boy with blonde hair and bright blue eyes exclaimed changing the subject since I hadn’t said anything, “I’m Irish.”

“I’m Liam,” Liam said, “I’m from Waolverhampton.”

“I’m Zyan,” Zayn said smiling, “I’m from Bradford.”

“And I’m Louis!” Louis exclaimed, “And I’m from Doncaster.”

“Nice to meet you all,” she said, “and this is my good friend Andrea.”

“I’m American!” she exclaimed and I just smiled at her energy.

She was going to be a great match for Niall I just had a gut feeling about it.

“Wait you’re the same age as Harry aren’t you?” Louis asked and she nodded her head.

“We are the same age,” she said, “We even share the same birthday.”

“That’s really creepy,” Andrea said.

“Yeah it kind of is,” Zayn said and I noticed both of us just shrugged our shoulders.

“Harry can you bring Kennedy to the restaurant?” Gemma asked and I noticed Kennedy frowned a bit, “James is bringing Andrea, Emily, and George and we don’t have any room.”

“Sure,” I said, “I can do that.”

“Thanks,” Gemma grinned standing up, “See you all at the restaurant!”

She then rushed out of the room quickly with Andrea on her heels and I Kennedy just shook her head as she packed up her things.

“We’ll meet you at the restaurant mate,” Louis said, “We’re going to go pick up the girls.”

I nodded my head and they left, leaving me and Kennedy in the room alone. She continued to pack up her bag and I took a deep breath.

“Do you need any help?” I asked.

“No I’m fine,” she said as she stood and grabbed three bags but the third one she grabbed almost fell on the ground and I quickly saved it.

“I can carry this,” I said, “Besides people say pink is my color.”

I thought this would make Kennedy smile a little bit but she just frowned at me and I sighed.

“Follow me,” I said quietly and led her to my Range Rover.

We put all of her bags in the back of my car and we both got in. I started the car and pulled out of the concert hall and started the half hour drive to the restaurant. I had the radio lightly playing and no one was talking. I could cut the tension with a knife but I didn’t know how to talk to her because she had her guard up.

“I’m sorry,” I said.

“Excuse me,” she said confused.

“I’m sorry I was an arse in secondary school,” I replied, “I’m sorry I bullied you that you had to leave Holmes. I didn’t think it hurt you as bad as it did because you always let it roll off your shoulders.”

I heard her scoff and I sighed knowing she heard me but she wasn’t going to forgive me anytime soon. I frowned even more after the sound and decided to keep my mouth shut. We drove a little ways down before she spoke.

“Just because you apologized doesn’t mean we’re cool Styles,” she replied, “You were the meanest boy to me and you were my best friend. I told you everything and you used it against me Harry. I was called a whale because of my weight you might be sorry now but you don’t have to live with the scars.”

If the guilt wasn’t bad enough it was ten times worse now. I knew I hurt her but I didn’t think I had hurt her that much but guess I was wrong. I was about to say something but she started talking again.

“I will be civil to you but don’t think we’ll ever be friends again,” she replied and I frowned.

I wanted to be friends with Kennedy again. I wanted to be more than friends with Kennedy but I figured that everything was ruined now. We had just arrived at the restaurant and I parked my car and she got out and walked inside leaving me alone in the car. I sighed to myself and got out of the car and noticed the boys getting out of their cars. Louis and Eleanor noticed the frown on my face and Eleanor hugged me tightly. She was the only girlfriend to know everything that went on between me and Kennedy.

“Don’t worry Harry,” she whispered, “We’ll get you to on talking terms again.”

I then smiled lightly at Eleanor. She was always one to stay positive. Kennedy was the same way when we were growing up and then the smile I just had turned into a frown because of the thought of Kennedy. I needed her to be mine and I decided then and there I was going to prove to her that I wasn’t that boy in secondary school. I was going to prove to her I was still her best friend who knew her better than anyone else did.

“You sure you’re going to be okay mate?” Louis asked and I nodded my head.

“I’ll be fine Lou,” I said, “It’s not a big deal. She’s just upset and I understand.

Louis nodded his head and we headed into the restaurant and I saw Kennedy sitting on one of the benches looking at her phone. Everyone looked at me and I went over and sat next to her.

“Mind if I introduce you to the guys’ girlfriends?” I asked and she looked up at me and smiled a breath taking smile and nodded her head.

“Sure,” she replied and she stood up with me and followed me over to where the girls were standing with the boys.

“Kennedy meet Eleanor Calder, Louis’ girlfriend, Danielle Peazer, Liam’s girlfriend, and Perrie Edwards, Zayn’s girlfriend,” I said, “Girls meet my childhood friend Kennedy Wilker.”

“Nice to meet you,” Kennedy said giving them a genuine smile.

“You too,” Eleanor said smiling at her, “We’ve heard so many stories about you and Harry when you two were growing up.”

I saw her blush lightly and chuckle.

“I hope they weren’t all the embarrassing ones,” she said and Eleanor, Danielle, and Perrie all laughed lightly.

“Are you the wedding planner then,” Perrie asked.

“I am,” she replied, “I’ve been doing it since I was sixteen which is a bit crazy but I enjoy it. I liked it way more than college.”

“Tell me about it,” Eleanor said, “I can’t wait to done at University.”

The girls then started talking and getting to know each other leaving us to just stand and talk. We stood a ways away from the girls and the guys started asking me some questions about Kennedy.

“So how did the talk go mate?” Liam asked hopefulness shining in his eyes.

I frowned and shook my head.

“Not so good,” I sighed, “I mean she understands that I’m sorry but she’s more hurt than I thought. She told me that she’s just going to be civil to me and that’s it. She doesn’t think we’re going to be friend at all.”

“Well what are you going to do about it mate?” Niall asked.

“What are you talking about?” I asked confused looking and the blonde in our group.

“Well you are Harry Styles,” he said, “How are you going to prove to her she can trust you again? You’ve been talking about her for years Haz. We want you to be happy and I can bet you that being around her is going to make you happy.”

“I don’t know mates,” I sighed, “I don’t know if she’s changed a whole lot in three years.”

I then heard the door open and I turned around to see a head of bright red hair an idea came to mind. I was going to have to ask her current best friend. We stayed back and I watched Kennedy interact with her family and my mum. She hugged her mum and dad tightly and then when she saw my mum she grinned widely and hugged her as well. All of the girls were all talking and Kennedy introduced Andrea to the girls and I noticed Kennedy’s dad and James walk over to us.

“You better win my daughter over Styles,” Mr. Wilker told me, “Because I don’t want her dating some idiot who doesn’t treat her right.”

“I’m with Dad on this one Harry,” James said, “No matter how much she pretends that she doesn’t care about you, she’s lying through her teeth. She still cares and it’s a whole lot.”

“Thanks for the blessings guys,” I said, “Hopefully she let’s me back in.”

“Oh she will Harry,” her dad said as we all looked at the girls, “Trust me she will.”
