Teach Me How To Kiss (1D AU)

"Can you believe this is the last semester we'll be walking down these hallways?" I said a little saddened.

"I know, thank God!" Louis exclaimed.

"Really? You're not at all sad by the fact that we won't see each other every day?"

"Not really, I don't care about all these people. But I will keep in touch with ones I do care about…no sadness here."

"Fine. Don't care too much or anything!"

"Changing the subject here, I have some news…I decided to enlist in the Army."

"What?! Not you too! Janet is leaving me, now you're leaving me…What about Lilah?"

"That's why I'm doing it. It's a way I can create security for us. Then in a year…I plan on proposing."

"Are you for serious? Awww. I better be the best woman…I'm just saying!" I laughed.

What news! Made me really think about what I was planning on doing. I was beginning to like cooking but did I have enough passion to pursue it as a career?

"Hey guys!" Janet ran up to us.

"Guess what? Louis is joining the Army too!" I frowned.

"I thought you would, after hearing you talk about it with Liam that night; I thought you were a goner for sure!"

"So how is Liam?" I asked casually. I don't know why Janet and Louis exchanged glances. "What? Why did you guys do that?"

"Oh he left you hooked didn't he?" Louis laughed.

"What do you mean hooked? I'm not hooked! I was merely asking how he was doing."

"Right, aka, 'has he asked about me'?" Janet smirked.

"Louis, don't you have class or something?" I pushed him away.

"Oh you're so hooked!" he announced as he walked away.

What was the big deal about simply asking how he was doing? I mean we shared an amazing kiss but then he had to leave the next day back to Camp Pendleton. So I didn't have a chance to talk with him afterwards; not that I was expecting something more.

"Okay Janet, it's killing me! Please, anything? Has he asked about me or mentioned my name?" I pleaded.

"It's so weird that you like my uncle…I mean what if we really become step-sisters, how would that work?" she ranted, not helping me out at all.

"Aghhh! You're evil!"

And she had the nerve to laugh in my face and purposely ignore my question. I'm done with this! I walked outside to find a bench to sit by myself. I just wanted to be alone, put my earphones on and listen to music from my phone. It had been a week since I had been kissed by Liam and as much as I hated to admit it, I couldn't forget about it.

This broke all the rules to the freedom and spontaneity of the 'New Year's kiss'. Why couldn't I just enjoy the kiss and stick to my plan of saying 'sayonara'. Because I'm Brynn Elise Rael, Miss complicate everything in life especially when it comes to boys…Miss Pathetic…Miss I'm glad no one can hear my thoughts right now!

I guess I could have gotten in my car and drove home by now but I was enjoying this random spot and had no place to be at the moment. My eyes were fixed on my black leggings and brown boots. I adjusted my olive green sweater and continued playing with the ends of my hair as I enjoyed the current song. You'd think I was waiting for someone or modeling for a hidden camera, but for once I was enjoying the moment.

I heard a beep through my earphone and saw I had a text from Janet.

Sorry about earlier I was only teasing. Where you at? Let's get some coffee…my treat?

It's ok. I'm actually just sitting outside. You want to meet at work in 10 minutes? -B.

5 minutes passed and I was looking down to see if Janet had responded while I searched for the next track to listen to. I saw two large tan boots take closer steps. Strange, I looked up right away and blinked twice as fast. A huge smile plastered over my face no matter how casual I tried to look. I wasn't expecting to see a man in his camouflage attire.

"What are you doing here? Are you visiting Janet again?" I asked, wondering if he was just here looking for her.

"I'm actually here to see you," he took a seat beside me. "I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to call. I was promoted to Staff Sergeant and haven't had a break since."

"Why would you think you had to call me?" I was extremely interested in hearing his response.

"Because after a kiss like that, a lady definitely deserves a call back," he assured me with a wide grin.

"So you…wanted to call me?"

"Of course! I have to say, I really didn't think you were going to let me kiss you. But when you kissed me back, I thought I just had to ask…"

"Ask what?" I was dying to know.

"Was that passion just for the sake of the moment or were you perhaps… interested in me?" He bit his lip in anticipation and I lost all feeling in my legs.
