Unnoticed

Noticed.

It has been a month since my mother's death. My father still hasn't returned, but he calls everyday just like he said he would. Both those happenings has left me crying every night and day, so I've stayed inside the house mostly. Even though I love the outside, the beauties of it couldn't save me this time around. Grandma would say 'go do something, you need some fresh air', and those were the times I would leave the house to hang out with Aly. Aly was still the same since the last time I saw her. That same short curly blonde bouncy hair that made me able to recognize her right away. Still as boy crazy as ever too. Yes, she was entirely boy crazy even when we were little. Whenever we went to the playground near my grandma's house and I couldn't find where she went, all I had to do was look for the nearest boy and she was there - trying to hold his hand or hug him. Funny how if she did that now, boys wouldn't be pushing her away because of cooties anymore.

Now that I think about it, it has also has been a month since I've seen that guy with lovely green eyes near the woods. The memory of what my grandma said to me about him that day flashed through my mind.

"Who was that?" I asked my grandma with high curiosity, turning to look at her.

"Trouble." She answered.

Well, trouble never looked so good. He was one of the most handsomest guys I had ever seen. And the mention of him being trouble only sparked up this feeling of finding him so interesting. How was he trouble? Was he really trouble, or was that just what people thought?

School starts in the morning. Maybe I'll see him there. Although I've never been the type to just go up to a guy and start talking, words flowing from my lips naturally and being flirtatious. I'm more of the type who would get flustered and blurt out something stupid like 'I like your nose', then storm off in embarrassment. Which is actually a true story; I avoided talking to guys after that.

Thoughts about him had crawled into my mind and clutched on, refusing to let loose, and I had never even spoken to him before. It was strange. As I laid on my bed in my room that covered with complete darkness, my eyes came to a fluttering close and I fell asleep. The mystery guy with lovely green eyes being the last active thought in my mind.

"Silver. Silver honey, wake up. School starts in an hour."

I woke up to the sound of my grandma's voice and the gentle shaking of my arm. My eyes fluttered open and I nodded, yawning softly.

"I'll be waiting downstairs to take you to school when you're ready!" She said cheerfully.

I laughed a bit, her cheerfulness making it seem as if I was a little child going to school for the first time and this was a moment meant to be excited over. "Okay!" I clapped my hands together to exchange the same cheery attitude.

She laughed and headed out the door of my room, and back downstairs.

I had already taken a shower the night before so I had plenty of time. I hopped off my bed and ambled over to the bathroom, brushing my teeth before splashing some cool water on my face and washing it, proceeding to dry it. I left the bathroom and headed to my closet. Scanning through the new clothes my grandma and I went shopping for eventually since I didn't even get the chance to pack my things from back home. I grabbed my gray-blue shirt that I always tied to the side, a pair of black skinny jeans, a black jean jacket, and tossed them on my bed. I undressed out of my night wear and put on the outfit I picked out, slipping on my black converse afterwards to complete the outfit. Then applied eyeliner, mascara to my lashes, and dabbed a bit of lip gloss on my lips - lastly brushing my long dark hair and leaving it to flow with its natural wave past my shoulders.

I picked up the strap to my black leather over the shoulder bag and tossed it on, heading down the stairs to find my grandma sitting on the couch. "I'm ready, lets go!"

"Okay!" She said in the same cheerful tone from earlier.

We left the house in her car, driving off to the new school I'd be going to now that I moved here. Being new to school didn't worry me, it was easy because all I wanted was to remain unnoticed. It was the one thing I knew I was perfect at doing. Whenever I went to school, it was as if I was just the wind drifting by. I was content with my own company.

We arrived at my new school and I gave my grandma a quick hug before entering the school. It wasn't too long after that when I felt a a hip gently bump mine, following with a familiar voice speaking loudly. "Ayy girly, you look bitchin'!"

I laughed softly while shaking my head. The things she said almost always made me laugh. "I love you, Aly!!"

"Who doesn't?!" She said with a playful wink before continuing. "I love you too, but oh god I have boy stories to tell you!" She then proceeded to tell me about how she was interested in two different guys but couldn't decide which to chose, so to solve that problem she hooked up with both of them. "Have to test out the car to see if it's good before buying it, ya know." She told me with a laugh, although I knew she was serious.

I laughed along with her. If she wanted to do things like that, it didn't matter to me. Go get your slut on for all I care. As long as she was being safe with it and not messing around with guys in relationships, it didn't matter to me. We weren't fully alike in personality, but I liked it that way. She was fun, and I needed some of that in my life.

The bell now rang and we went straight to class. Most of our classes luckily being together.

Before I knew it, the final bell rang and school ended. The halls now filled with students - some going to their lockers, some exiting the school, some staying behind and talking to their friends. Aly and I didn't have our last class together; we planned to walk home together so I roamed through the sea of people in the hall ways in search of her. The mystery guy with the lovely green eyes came to my mind, feeling disappointed as I realized I never saw him today.

No thank needed, just stating the truth! :) And oh my goodness, are you serious? You have no idea how happy I am for you to say that; I worried so much that the story wasn't going to be good. I hope to do well with keeping you intrigued by it as well as others who may take the time to read it.
