Hired For Harry

Chapter 30

Page’s POV
*2 weeks later*

“How are you my darling?” My mother squeezed me into a hug as soon as I stepped foot in the restaurant that our rather large family dinner was being held at.

Honestly?! How have I been?!

Since Harry left two weeks ago I haven’t left my apartment unless it was work related, until now anyway and I thought this would make me feel better but I really don’t.

“I'm getting there.” I smiled lightly and she gave me a sympathetic look since she knows Harry and I are having trouble, obviously I couldn't tell her why but I still needed a shoulder to cry on.

We walked over to the long table at the back of the restaurant where the rest of my family was already waiting for me.

As we got closer one person in particular stood up making my eyes widen.

Niall’s mother.

My mother’s sister.

Whatever you want to call her, she was here and smiling from ear to ear at me.

“Page! My goodness I haven’t seen you for years now! Look how much you've grown up.” She rushed around the table to hug me just as tight as my mum had.

“Nice to see you.” I grumbled out while trying hard to breath in her tight grip.

Once she let me go and I proceed to say hello to the rest of my family, I sat down next to Cindy who looked a little out of place since she tends to spend most of her time with her dad’s family and not our mother’s.

Nothing had really changed in the way our family interacted except that we sat closer to the back of the restaurant, which was mainly my fault since now there were always people trying to take photos and such even when I wasn't out with Harry.

The night continued to go smoothly as I blanked out for most of the talking and barely ate anything when our food arrived.

“So Page.” Maura spoke up from across the table making me lift my head to give her my attention.

“Niall told me that you two are starting to get along again.” She smiled brightly at the thought but I couldn't help the scoff that left my mouth.

“No we’re not. I just see him more often because I'm dating Harry.” I cringed when I heard Harry’s name leave my mouth for the first time in days.

By now every one of my family members had stopped talking or eating just so they could attempt to hear what was about to happen.

“You really need to give Niall a break sweetheart. You know he’s sorry for how he left you.” She smiled as she tried to stick up for her son but I'm not sure if she even convinced herself with that.

Honestly I'm not mad at how Niall left any more.

But the fact that Harry did the exact same thing just reminds me of how hurt I was four years ago.

Now I can’t quite forgive either of them, Harry made me mad at Niall again and he made me mad at him in the process without meaning too.

“Can we please not talk about this?” I begged and tried to hide my face from the rest of my family, their burning gazes making me feel uncomfortable.

My mum tried to place her hand on Maura’s shoulder to calm her down but she shook it off and glared at me.

“What are so afraid will happen by forgiving your cousin Page? Maybe that Harry will leave you the same way?” My heart shattered as those words left her mouth.

Oh if only you knew!

“Excuse me.” I mumbled before grabbing my purse and walking straight out of the restaurant.

The fresh air hit me as soon as I walked outside and I took deep breath before I started walking down the street in no particular direction.

Much to my surprise, there were no cameras or fans outside so I could walk in peace.

After about five minutes I came across a small coffee shop and decided that a warm drink might do me good.

I stepped in and giggled as I heard the small bell go off above my head.

At this time of night the place was empty so I'm not sure why they were still open.

“Hello lovely lady. What can I get for you?” The nice middle aged worker asked.

“Just a hot chocolate thanks.” I smiled and decided to wait by the counter since there was no one else here.

I took this chance to look around the small shop and sighed in content.

That was until my eyes caught sight of a magazine on the opposite side of the counter to me.

One heading in particular stuck out.

‘Harry styles cheating on Page Phillips? See the pictures!’

Here you go lovely people!
