Make It Stop ⇼ Luke Hemmings

Fourteen.

Wednesday afternoon, and we’re at Calum’s house as always, watching the cheesiest, B-side horror film we could find. Kaylee hadn’t stopped picking at her nails since she got here, and I could tell by the content look on Ashton’s face, she hadn’t told him about her decision to keep the baby. I was with her when she told Steph and Ella, who took it pretty well and most likely told Cal and Mikey, and when Kaylee asked Ash to speak to him on the patio, we all shared glances, knowing fairly well what was about to go on. Once they disappeared, Ella and Steph stood up.
“We’re getting out of here before shit goes down, Romy? Need a ride?” Shaking my head, I glanced at Luke, who offered me a small smile. He was sitting on a separate couch than I, almost across the room; which had made it easy for us to steal glances all night.
“I should stay.” I told them. “In case she’s too upset.” They understood, seeing through my lie to want to go home with Luke.
“Well, walk us out!” Steph jokingly spat at Cal and Mikey, who defenselessly sighed and followed their girlfriends out of the house. Luke immediately stood, sitting next to me on the small couch.

“Hey.” He gave me a cheesy grin.
“Hi stranger.” I giggled as he messily pecked my lips, lacing his fingers with mine. “I want to tell them.” I whispered. “So bad… But… We can’t.” Luke’s smile faded.
“Why not?”
“Because then, they’d win.” I teased him.
“Oh, we can’t have that.” He laughed.
“No! We can’t conform!” Luke pulled me onto his lap so I straddled him and kissed the tip of my nose. “Then all our hard work would be ruined.” His head buried into my neck. I couldn't help but run my fingers in his hair.

"Lukey?" I asked quietly.
"Romy?" He mocked, tearing his face from the crook of my neck to look up at me.
"Nevermind." I backed out, fearing his answer. Luke shook his head.
"Tell me." He urged, subconsciously glancing around the room.
"Have you ever thought about having sex with me?" I blurted out, earning a quirked eyebrow. Like sighed, rubbing his eye tiredly.
"Where is this coming from?" He asked, placing his hand on my waist.
"I'm just curious." I muttered, playing with the collar of Luke's shirt.
"Yeah." Luke laughed dryly. "I have, but within good time, yeah?" I nodded slowly, still frowning as I began to climb off him. Luke grabbed my hips, preventing me from leaving and pulling me back down on his lap. "Hey." He rasped. "What's wrong?"
"I just... I don't want you to leave me." He furred his eyebrows together.
"Why would I do that?" I shrugged.
"Because... You're a boy. You have needs. And I can't fill your needs because I'm used up and scared and broken and I don't want you to leave me because I don't know when I'll be ready and you're not going to want to wait." Luke held my face, staring at me intently.
"Rom, you're not used. You were hurt and molested and raped, you had nothing to do with that. I don't care if I have to wait. I want to be your first proper shag, even if it takes years. I'm not going anywhere, okay? If you're not ready, then you're not ready. If you are, then you are." His hand traveled to my mouth, his thumb canvassing my bottom lip. "I'd wait forever if it means you're comfortable with yourself, me, your body, and having sex, then I'd be glad to wait." I peeled Luke's hands off my waist, sitting next to him and folding our hands together.

"I just want to make you happy." I whispered, causing him to smile.
"You do make me happy. Sex has nothing to do with it." I pressed a small kiss against Luke's lips, his tongue gliding across my bottom lip, his lip ring moving against my lips as our tongues battled for dominance. I felt him smile against my mouth, grabbing my hips and pulling me onto his lap once again, I couldn't help but laugh into the kiss, Luke's hands pushing hair out of my face.

"You are so beautiful." He complimented into my mouth, setting his large hands on the small of his back and pulling me closer, quietly groaning as my weight settled directly on his crotch.
"Sorry." I blushed, pulling away quickly. "Did I hurt you?" I gushed, biting my lip. Luke's curled into the smallest smile as he laughed.
"No." He chuckled, setting his hands on my thighs. "It—no it didn't hurt." I felt my face get hot, as Luke's hands traveled up my thighs and around, placing themselves on my arse and pulling me closer once again. He pressed his lips against mine, immediately pressing his tongue to mine. My hands tangled in his hair. Feeling bold, I rocked my hips against him. Once I began, Luke had a sharp intake of breath, holding me in place. "If you don't stop, Im going to get a hard on." He warned. A small smirk taking over.
"Good." I mumbled, pressing my lips to his again. Luke laughed deeply as I pulled away. "Can you take me home?" I bit my lip.
"Yeah baby."

We walked outside to see Ella and Mikey making out against the car, as Cal made out with Steph inside of it. I couldn't help but stifle laughter as Luke boldly grabbed my hand and ran to his car. As I watched him drive, I couldn't help but reach over and set my hands on his thigh, earning a cocky grin when I began palming him through his jeans.
"Shit, Romy." He muttered, pulling to the side of the road once we reached my house. "Are you trying to make me crash the fucking car?" He joked.
"No Im trying to drive you crazy."
"Well it's working." I rolled my eyes.

"Can I try something?" My voice was low. Luke watched me with dark eyes as I unbuckled my seatbelt and sat in the middle council. He shut his car off, watching me as I unbuttoned his skinny jeans and urged him to buck his hips up, sliding them down a bit, along with his boxers. Staring up him, I slowly moved up and down his shaft. After a second, I leaned down, putting my lips around him and taking him in my mouth. Luke gasped sharply, moaning as he threw his head back. I bobbed up and down, being extra careful not to hurt him with my teeth. Luke pulled at my hair, fighting the urge to buck his hips or push me down, I took him into my mouth fully, slightly gagging as I did.
"Holy fucking shit." He swore, I felt him begin to twitch in my mouth, I swirled my tongue around his head as he stuttered. "Sh-shit, Romy. I'm going to—fuck—if you don't stop I'm going to come in your mouth." His words came out in a rush as I quickly bobbed my head, taking him into my mouth further as his grip in my hair tightened. He released into my mouth and without knowing what to do, I swallowed the salty substance and pulled back, staring at a flustered, out of breath, and cursing Luke. I gave him a shy smile, kissing his cheek and climbing out of the car, quickly running inside before he could say anything about my provocative actions.

As I closed the door behind me, I heard Luke's old car drive away. I walked aimlessly to the kitchen to be met by mum and Owen.
"It's late." Mum said as she did the dishes and Owen put them away.
"Sorry." I muttered, searching the fridge for something to eat.
"The least you could do is call." Mum grouchily replied.
"I said sorry." I repeated. "It's not like I'm used to having people care about me." I rolled my eyes, slamming the fridge.
"Don't talk to your mother that way!" Owen snapped at me, putting the last dish away as he glared at me. Mum turned, sighing. "We have been up all night waiting for you, young lady!" I scoffed.
"It's only ten thirty!" I argued.
"It's a school night!" His face turned red as he screamed at me.
"Owen!" Mum yelled. He gave a deep sigh before leaving us alone in the kitchen.
"I'd rather have my father yelling at me then some bloke I merely just met." I spoke under my breath, I knew she heard it, but chose to ignore it.

"Would you just call me next time you go out?" Mum asked quietly. as the tension began dying down.
"Yeah." I rasped. "I was just with Luke." I told her.
"Well, frankly, Owen doesn't like Lucas. I think he's a charming lad, but Owen can't stand him." I frowned.
"It's a good thing he's not Owen's boyfriend." I snapped. Mum sighed.
"We think it's best if you stop-" I cut her off, knowing where this was going.
"No." I demanded, leaving the kitchen and going straight to my room, unable to believe she had the nerve to suggest I stop seeing him.

Despite my bad mood, I still lit up from a text from Luke, not more than ten minutes after he left.
'Holy shit. I love you so much.'
':)'
'Thank you baby. ;)'
'Was it okay?'
'Fucking superb. You've never done that?'
'Noooooooo."
'Glad I was your first. ;) Can we facetimeee?'
Before I had a chance to respond, Luke was calling me.

"Hey, beautiful." He rasped once I answered.
"Hi handsome." I giggled.
"How are you?"
"Sucky." Luke laughed.
"Well, yeah. You made that entirely clear in the car." He joked, earning an eye roll.
"Lucas." I warned.
'I'm sorry! I couldn't help it." I laughed. "What's wrong, baby girl?" He turned serious. I sighed.
"I don't know. Everything is just weird. I come home and mum and Owen are all pissed because I came home at ten thirty. Ten thirty! That's bullshit!" I sighed.
"They only care." Luke frowned. "My parents do the same thing when they're home." He shrugged. "You're just not used to having someone who worries." I smiled a bit.

"Yeah, I guess. But get this! Mum says Owen hates you." I laughed. Luke frowned a bit, pursing his lips.
"He hates me?" He seemed hurt.
"He's such a hardarse. He's so old-fashioned, it hurts." I tried to soothe.
"Do you think they'll make you stop seeing me?" He asked, seriously.
"They can't." I objected.
"You sure?" He bit his lip.
"Of course, Luke. I already told you, I’m in like with you." We shared a laugh.
"I’m in like with you, too, baby." I yawned. "You tired?" I nodded. "Okay. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Get some sleep, baby. I'll see you in the morning." I smiled as Luke blew a kiss to me, blowing one back, I finally spoke.
"Goodnight, Lukey." His nose crinkled at the nickname, but before he could scold me, I hung up and went to bed.

Ella, Steph, and I had agreed to meet up at Kaylee's after school, considering she was absent today and we hadn't been too keen on the idea of getting the needed information from Ashton. As we entered her house, we found her humming happily in the kitchen.
"Hello!" She chirped, smiling brightly.
"I'm assuming things went well with Ash, then?" Ella laughed, sitting on Kaylee's counter. Her face immediately turned red.
"We talked for an hour." She told us, turning the stove off and bringing the pasta to the sink. "He said he's here to help and he promised not to leave me. I cried, he laughed. It was... Weird. And he took me home, I told mum." Our eyes seemed to widen simultaneously.
"Well what did she say?!" I urged, watching Kaylee stir the sauce in.
"She was angry at first." She sighed, grabbing four plates as Steph busied herself pouring us all cups of soda. "But then she got real excited. Like she was happy she's going to be a grandmum. Then she cried and she told me she was glad I didn't have the abortion." She shrugged as she set our plates at the table, to which we all sat and began to eat. "I don't know... I'm glad I didn't do it. I'm so happy. It's like... I don't know. Guys, I'm kind of excited. I'm going to be a mum!" She exclaimed, causing us all to laugh. The girls and I watched Mean Girls after dinner and listened to Kaylee drone on about being the best mum ever, it was quite adorable in all honesty. About halfway through the movie, I got a text from Luke.

'Whatcha doing?'
'Im at Kaylee's, watching mean girls!'
'Without me?'
'No boys night!'
':('
'Don't be such a sap ;)'
'Can I pick you up in an hour?'
'Why?'
'For cheese fries and milkshakes, of course! :)'
'Hmmmmm I don't know :)'
'Pleeeeeaaaassseeeee?'
'I think I'd like to be anti-Luke.'
':('
'Im kidding!'
'You're killing me, babe.'
'Luke I can't just leave.'
'But I miss you.'
'You just saw me a few hours ago.'
'I’m sad :( please see me tonight.'
'Okay, bub. I'll see you in an hour.'

"Hi pretty girl." Luke smiled as I climbed in his car, pecking his lips.
"Hey pretty boy." I repeated back as he pulled out of Kaylee's driveway. "I suppose Ashton took it pretty well." I informed him, rolling down the window to get more air.
"Yeah? That's good." He glanced at me, seeming a bit off.
"It's great." I corrected. "Do you think they're going to get married? Or drop out of school? Kay told her mum last night. She was pretty angry, but she's glad she didn't abort it." I rambled on. "What would you do?" I asked, turning to him as he played with his lip ring.
"If I were Ashton and I loved Kaylee, I would propose. I'd get a stable job, save up for a flat, and support her. I think I'd drop out of school." I couldn't help but laugh.
"What if I was pregnant?" I teased.
"I'd wonder who knocked you up, because you have to actually have sex to get pregnant." He joked, his smile fading quickly.

"Are you okay?" I asked. "You seem distraught." Luke pursed his lips, pulling into the food parlour he'd promised to take me to. He shrugged.
"I don't know." He confessed, shutting his car off and opening my door for me.
"Do you want to talk about it, bub?" I intertwined our fingers as we entered the shop. He quickly pulled away, telling me to go sit down as he ordered. He finally came back with cheese fries and soda, setting it down as he sat across from me, popping a fry in his mouth. "Is it about me?" I took a sip of my soda. "Did I do something wrong? If I did, I'm sorry." He offered me a small smile, reaching over and running his thumb across my hand.
"You didn't do anything wrong." He assured me. "It doesn't matter."
"So what is it?" He shook his head.
"Nothing." He rasped. "It doesn't matter. Don't worry about it, babe. Okay?" I bit my lip, pulling my hand away from his to pick at the fries we were sharing.
"I just want to help."
"It's nothing, Romy. Just drop out, please. It's not one consistent thing. I don’t want you to worry." He sighed.

"Lucas." I whined.
"Romina." He mocked me, eating three fries at once.
"I'm serious." I pouted.
"I am, too." He gave me a fake smile. "Don't worry about it." I rolled my eyes at his stubbornness.
"I want to." I muttered.
"There's just so much shit on my mind right now." He finally spoke. "My grandma is sick, so my mum and dad are coming home for a while, they’re bringing my brothers, and I've just grown used to being alone. I don't know if I can deal with the persistent nagging of my mum." He didn't look at me, his eyes glued to the fat-filled food that was nearly gone.
"Luke-" He cut me off.
"And to make it worse, Cal and Mikey have been giving me shit all day because Ash couldn't keep his fucking mouth shut, and I know they won't tell the girls, but what if they do? You'd be so angry with me, and I can't stand it when you're angry with me." He ran his hands through his hair, frustrated.
"Tell them what?" My nerves kicked in.
"Ashton told them about us, Romy. It… It just slipped out." He confessed, grabbing the empty plate and throwing it away and walking to the registers to order more food. My mind went blank.

Luke finally came back with milkshakes, handing me mine and refusing to look up.
"Are you mad?" His sad blue eyes connected with mine.
"No." I promised, leaning over the table to peck his cheek before taking a sip of my milkshake. He laughed at me. "What?" I worried, he shook his head, running his thumb over my bottom lip to remove the excess ice cream before licking it off his thumb. I giggled at the gesture. "You're so weird." Luke grinned at me.
"Don’t pretend you don’t love it.”
