Scarlett.
We were all chewing on the last bit of food, too hungry to save some extra food.
The fish was a few days old; the fruit wasn't fresh anymore and nothing tasted good.
But it gave us a little more energy for - hopefully - the last part of our journey.
When everyone was done, we continued walking, staying far enough from the shoreline, since there could be crocodiles.
I was tired, hungry, my shoulder started to hurt again and on top of it all; a headache started to form.
And I really needed a bath.
And a shower.
And after that, another bath.
I sighed deeply and fastened my pace, thinking about the thing I promised Harry I would do when I came home. I would call Katie's foster-parents and ask them if I could see her.
I really hoped she looked like me. My life would be over if the father of Katie would find out he had a daughter. A daughter I hadn't told him about and gave up for adoption.
What if he would find out?
He would be very upset. Possibly angry.
Of course he'll be angry; you've been hiding a piece of his own flesh and blood. A child, made not only by you, but also by him. I scolded myself.
Will she recognize me? She's been with me the first half year of her life. We had some sort of bond, even though for me it didn't work out. It's possible she knows I'm... a special person for her, right?
'Everything alright?' Someone broke me out of my thoughts. Zayn smiled at me. The feeling of guilt overwhelmed me and I quickly looked at something else, avoiding his eyes.
'Yeah. I'm fine. Just tired.'
From the corner of my eye, I saw him nod. 'Okay.' Was all he replied.
'Tired, huh?' I heard a deep voice behind me. I turned my head to look at Harry, who gave me a mischievous smile, before wrapping one arm around me to stop me from walking and scooping me up in his arms, making me shriek with laughter.
'Harry! Put me down!'
'No. You're tired. I'll carry you for a while.'
I huffed. 'That will be too heavy for-'
'Heavy? You're as light as a feather, Scarlett. Just be thankful. Accept some help sometimes.'
I opened my mouth to say something back, but I couldn't think of anything.
Because what he said, actually made sense.
So I remained silent, relaxing in his arms. I even closed my eyes, leaning my head against his shoulder.
The rhythm of his pace calmed me down and made me sleepy. But I promised myself I wouldn't fall asleep, though.
'When I come home, the first thing I'll do, is go to a fancy restaurant. After taking several showers, of course.' I mumbled.
'Several?' Harry asked.
'You think I'm clean with just one shower?'
He chuckled. 'I don't know.'
We were silent for a couple of minutes.
'Change in plans. I'll make myself a sandwich. And then, I will climb into my bed and don't leave it for at least two days.'
'Sounds fun. Can I join you?' He asked.
I nodded. 'We could make a fortress of pillows and bed sheets.'
'Or we could just sleep.'
I chuckled. 'Okay, then.'
'Or do other things you do in beds.' He whispered.
'Sure.' I mumbled.
He gasped. 'Did you just say 'sure'?'
'I'm too tired to argue.'
He laughed darkly. 'Then I'll take advantage of the situation and make you promise.'
'That's not nice.' I spoke.
'Promise.'
'No.'
'Promise.'
'No.'
'I thought you were too tired to argue?'
'My energy suddenly came back.'
He stopped walking. 'Oh, then you'll be able to walk again, won't you?'
'No.' I whined. 'Don't. I like it up here.'
'Aha. So you are still tired. Then I'll say this one more time; promise me.'
I sighed. 'Fine. I promise.'
He smirked at me. 'Good. Can't wait to come home.'
'Me neither.' I said, placing my head back on his shoulder.
