Did Not Expect That

Being a good friend is important, no doubt. But honestly, it has to go both ways. I was being a good friend by accompanying Louis to the Performance Eleanor is dragging him to. Louis on the other hand was being a complete tosser by conveniently forgetting to tell me that it would be a ballet performance. If it weren't for Eleanor who called me earlier to make sure I was still going I wouldn't have known what I had gotten myself into until it was too late. I tried hard to get out of going after Eleanor told me but she was having none of it.

I had a plan ready to go though. I would have Nick call me 30 min into the performance and get me out of it with an "emergency". I smirked as I slipped on my shoes and quickly checked that my hair was still in place. It was getting far too long to leave it alone but Eleanor said she would hit me until I took the scarf out of my hair , and I know she will do it.

After quickly spraying some product into my hair and running my fingers through it my room door burst open. I saw Louis through the mirror and he was shaking his head. I glanced at the time on the cable box and saw that he was a half hour early. "I knew you would look like this. I told Eleanor that you wouldn't think to dress up properly, but no, 'he's a man now Louis, he can think for himself' she said. You just helped me win five quid from her." I rolled my eyes at his smirk and went back to finishing styling my hair. The only look I could do with this length was a messy quiff looking thing.

Louis walked into my closet and I could hear him through the door rustling around moving everything. "Do you have any decent pairs of trousers?" They're all faded or torn. God Harry, you're a freaking millionaire, it wouldn't hurt you to buy yourself a few new pairs of trousers." I again rolled my eyes at his sass then made my way over to my bed and decided to lie down and wait for Louis to find me a "decent" outfit.

"Aha!" Louis made his way out of my closet with a whole new outfit in hand, even shoes. He found the pair of skinny slacks I kept in the back of my closet and paired it with a black shirt, black belt, and grey suede shoues. I forgot I even owned those. I think they were a gift from someone because I don't remember ever purchasing them. I took off the outfit I had on and quickly put on what Louis chose. I rolled up my sleeves to below the elbow and left five of the top buttons undon. After tucking in the shirt, putting on the belt, and putting on my shoes I was ready to go. I looked at the time and made my way over to my phone. I unplugged it from the dock just as I was getting an incoming call from Nick. "I have to take this" Louis nodded his head and made his way out into the living room.

"Harry, mate. Are we still on for the plan tonight?" was the first thing I heard as I put the phone to my ear. "Yeah, exactly how I told you." I looked to the door to make sure Louis wasn't coming down the hall. "Alright I'll call you at 7:30 exactly." '' Yeah, that's right. I'll see you at the party at around 8 o'clock then." "Mate it's going to be wicked! Everyone is goin-" "Harry?" I quickly hung up on Nick just as Louis appeared at the door. "Hey, um.. that was... is Eleanor here yet?" Wow, way to cover Harry. "Um, yeah.. She just got here and she sent me to get you. She doesn't want to be late." I quickly pocketed my phone and made my way out the door. As I passed Louis his eyebrows were furrowed and I just knew he knew something was up.

When I entered the living room Eleanor stood up from the couch she was on. I walked over to her and gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek. "Are we all ready to go?" she asked as she picked up her clutch from the couch she was sitting on. I nodded and made my way to the entrance table and grabbed my wallet and keys. Louis entered the room with a smile on his face. "You owe me, harry was poorly dressed, looked like a right tosser this one."What? I doubt that. Harry, you dressed yourself right?" I was about to answer when Louis cut me off. "Badly, He was wearing those horrid brown boots of his that I thought we got rid of like three months ago. AND, he was wearing his extremely faded ripped jeans that look as though he has been in an apoclypse. The shirt wasn't too bad but not ballet performance worthy." We finally made it to the car park by the time Louis was done with his mii rant on my wardrobe.

The time just seemed to drag on. In the car Louis and Eleanor were talking about her upcoming exams so I decided to zone out. I stared at the buildings we passed on the way to the theatre and realized that I hadn't ever come to this side of London. I usually stayed around my neighborhood and the occasional trips around the studio after we were done there.

When we arrived there was a line already waiting to enter. There were ropes and security. Is it really this big of a deal? Well, considering only snobby rich people come to this I guess there had to be a lot of security. We couldn't even find parking so we had to park toward the end of the lot in one of the last spaces. What's the big deal?

Wow, okay that's what the big deal is. There was a whole speech made by the chief director of the dance company. Okay, that was boring. By the time he finished, it was 7:15. 15 minuets! his speech was 15 minutes!

Everything went dark. The stage lights slowly turned on as the curtain was raised. The music started off light and happy. Ugh, this is going to be one of those ballet princess performances. My eyesight began to take in everything on stage. The girl in the torn dress, the props, the changing of lighting. Well this is intricate.

As soon as what I assume was some sort of queen or royal princess came in, a court stepped out with her. My eyes zeroed in on the fourth girl to dance on stage. She looked exactly the same as the other dancers. The costumes were all the same but something about her din't fit with the rest of them. She wore a small smile while the other girls wore large smiles. Slowly her smile grew and I found my smile growing along with hers.

She was on and off stage. I knew she didn't have leading role by the dances she danced. She was never dancing alone. Always with the rest of 'Lady Annabeth's' court, or so Eleanor told me was the name of the bitchy royal. The main role was played by a red head. Her character's personality- I noticed, was fiery and confident.

Before I even noticed the performance ended. When the curtain raised again There were three lines. The girls did some sort of synchronized curtsy, as did the boys, and finally what I can only assume was the main cast? Is that what they are called? They all joined and did a final bow and held it as the curtain closed as the stage lights dimmed. The theatre lights were slowly turned on and I saw Eleanor and Louis getting up. They had announced in the beginning that the main dancers would be taking interviews and meeting with the audience for an hour, I think. I assumed Eleanor wanted to meet them so I began to make my way in that direction before Eleanor called me over. "We are headed out this way." I shrugged my shoulders and followed her and Louis out. I pulled out my phone and noticed I had 10 missed calls from Nick and about 20 messages. As I skimmed over them the first few were of him being worried then he started to call me a tosser and such.

I'm fine I'll see you at the party later. Had something to take care of. Thanks for calling mate!

I texted him quickly and pocketed my phone waiting for Eleanor and Lou to start making their way over to the car but they just stood by the statue of a lion. We stood there for 10 minutes. I was getting irritated because I could be at the party by now. I was about to call a taxi to come get me when Eleanor ran to where a group was coming in our direction. All I could hear was Eleanor and the other girls squealing along with Eleanor also congratulating them on their prerformance. I'm guessing they are dancers from the performance.

El grabbed two of the girls and pulled the over as the rest of the group followed. When they got closer I could see the red head that was the lead role and a brunette. There were three guys and another brunette with them. The girls greeted louis with a hug and kiss on the cheek. "Louis! It's been too long!" the red head exclaimed as she pulled away from him. "Way too long." The brunette added as she pulled away from the hug. I shook hands with the blokes that were standing with the group and introduced myself. They introduced themselves as Xander, Mat, and Beck. When I looked over to Louis he was talking with the second brunette. She threw her head back in laughter at something Louis said. Her curly hair fell from her face and I widened my eyes at her face.

It was the girl with the smile!
