THE DEATH OF ME

Yoga

Harry’s POV

"Slowly ladies.. I wouldn't want you hurting yourselves," Gemma calls out loudly, walking around helping the women to make a head stand. I am leaning against the wall of the studio where the coats are hung up. I am stood here for about 2 minutes and still haven't been noticed.
My sister looks good, she looks strong and happy. I haven't seen her or my mum for months, and I missed them more then I would admit. Gemma's hair is back to its dark brown now, after she's gone through that break stage of hers, she dyed it all these colours, blue, pink. My mum told me a while back she started teaching yoga classes and I am glad she is still doing it.
"Very good ladies, very good," Gemma claps her hands as the women get back down on their knees.
"Let your body rest for a moment, stretch your hands like thi- Harry?" She finally spots me.
"Oh my gosh! It's really you!" Gemma breaks out in a smile padding over to me. I push myself off the wall and extend my arms ready to catch her in a hug.
I remember the time when she was the tall one, but not anymore. I now tower over her, her forehead reaches only my shoulder.
"I’ve missed you," I murmur into my sister's hair, meaning every word.
"Oh Harry, I’ve missed you too," She looks up at me.
"Gemma- who is this young man?" One of the women asks.
"This ladies is my lovely little brother," She gushes showing me off.
"I know you!" One of them points at me. "You are that racer! My granddaughter has a poster of you in her room!"
"She does? Is she into racing?" I question, my brows raised.
"Oh no, her brother is.. She just into your look," The lady winks, making Gemma laugh.
"I am almost done, will you wait?" Gemma looks up at me.
"Sure, I’ll just watch from here," I point to the bench. My sister goes back to the front of the class and I take a seat.
It was a good call of my mum to send me here. Getting some time alone with Gem will be good for me.
My sister finished up her class and I watched as the ladies thank her and leave.
"So? How are things?" She questions me, putting on her coat.
"Things are getting there," I shrug.
"The season is out ha?" She walks us to the studio doors and takes out her keys to lock up.
"It was a good season," I sigh.
"Did you eat yet? Feel like stopping for food on the way back?"
"That is a brilliant idea," I grin.
"So what else are you doing beside yoga classes?" I question as we walk side by side.
"I have a class every morning.. I have another class in the evenings for a younger crowd twice a week.. I volunteer at the children centre on Mondays and Thursdays," She fills me in.
"You still do that? That is amazing Gem," I am a proud brother.
"Yeah, I love those kids, they make me so happy," She smiles.
"Do you still box?" I inquire.
"I do.. Cassie joined me this morning," She adds.
"She did? Is she any good?" I question.
"She could be.. She has a good stand," Gemma replies.
I was scared of bringing Cassie up, not sure how it will go, so I am surprised how smooth and unweird it feels to speak about her with Gemma.
We reach Costa and take a seat outside. Even though it is quite chilly, it's a nice day out, so we sit ourselves next to one of those heater thingies to keep us warm.
"Talk to me little brother, let me in to what's on your mind," Gemma stares at me from above the rim of her coffee cup.
I let out a sigh, and put my tea down.
"I am scared.. I'm afraid of seeing Cassie.. I'm not sure if she'll be happy I'm here," I finally tell her.
"Why? I'm sure she'll be super glad you came," She assures me.
"I'm not so sure," I shake my head.
"Harry.. She loves you- I'm sure of it- if she didn't she would never be willing to stay with us," Gem states.
"I know that- I know that, but.. You had to see her a few weeks ago, it was just.. It was terrible.. It got to a point that I truly thought she might harm herself, she went from not speaking to anyone and crying to hanging out with these druggies and taking pills and smoking and dissing all of her friends, and I was just so scared she was too far gone for me to save her," I tell Gemma.
"You know what your problem is Harry?" Gemma studies me.
"How did we get to what's wrong with me?"
"Bear with me for a moment- you have this thing Harry that you can't see the people you love suffer. And don't get me wrong it is a wonderful quality to care so much for your loved ones, but sometimes people don't really need the saving, or don't want to be saved... And you must learn to accept that, that you can't save everyone," I know she is right, and yet I can't stand on the side lines and see Cassie go through all this pain.
"I can't see her hurting this way," I tell her.
"I know sweetie.. No one wants to see people they love hurt, but sometimes you have to.. Sometimes people have to hurt before getting better.. Its part of the process of getting better, I know because I went through it, sometimes you need to reach an all time low to start climbing up again," She says.
I stare at my plate knowing that once again my older sister is right, but still not wanting to accept it.
"No matter how big and scary you might be I know how gentle you are inside," She smiles.
"Care bear," I grin up at her.
"A big care bear," She giggles her dimples flashing at me. We look so alike it's almost like looking in the mirror.
"I need to talk to you more often," I sigh, taking a bite from my food.
"You sure do, it might keep you out of trouble," she winks.
"Heard about that did you?" I shake my head.
"Read about it is more likely.. Is it true you were making jokes while the arrest?"
"Well I knew the officer from the last time he arrested me and I thought maybe making people laugh would lighten up the mood," I shrug.
"God Harry, you are something," She laughs.
We sit quietly for a while eating our food.
"For what it's worth.. Cassie is doing amazing.. She is barely shaking anymore and I think she is sleeping better at night.. and she seems much happier, she'll be alright."
"I really hope so.. I can't lose her.. I don't know what I'll do without her," I say truthfully.
"She got your head straighten out for you didn't she? I mean.. put aside that arrest you haven't gotten into trouble for a while- at least it wasn't in the papers.." Gemma states.
"Are you kidding? It got to a point we had our names in every morning- you would think that I'm Kim Kardashian by the amount of rubbish they wrote about us."
"Well yeah, but that was just regular gossip, it wasn't like it used to be- fights and arrests, I think she is good for you- I think you are good for each other."
I grin at her, glad I'm sat here, needing to hear these words from her, since I knew she would never say them if she didn't believe a thousand present it is right.
"Thanks sis," I smile.
"Anytime love.. Ready to head back home?"
I nod, and we pay for our food. We start walking slowly home, catching up on other things in our lives, like the fact of how well Ed is doing, and about Zayn dating Perrie and how it seems quite serious, and about Eleanor and Louis which she never met but heard a lot of. She asked about Niall and how he is getting along, and I told her he is doing well and how much people just are in love with him.
We reach home and we hang up our coats.
"Gem? Harry? Is that you?" Mum calls out.
"It is, all good?" Gemma calls back. We walk around and into the kitchen where my mum was preparing food.
"You ate already didn't you?" She accuses us.
"We had a lot of catching up to do mum," Gemma explains.
"Oh well.. I guess that is true.. Harry.. Why don't you go get Liam and Cassie, tell them food is ready," Mum suggests
"That is a great idea, why don't you?" Gemma smirks, and I frown down at her before turning to climb the stairs.
I climb up slowly, trying to clear my head from my fear of Cassie pushing me away once more. The door to my old room is shut and I hear chatter, letting me know the two friends are in there. I am ready to knock when the door opens, and Cassie is stood in front of me. She recoils at first, startled by my presence, her eyes running from my chest to my face locking on my eyes.
"Cassie."
