Forever Young

I hadn’t heard from Harry in over 72 hours and it was driving me crazy, especially since I had leeched onto Oliver and had been at their house every day; he was still nowhere to be found. He had left my car keys with my mother which led me to believe she said something else to him, I also had a feeling he got a stern talking to from his father and all of this was making my stomach hurt. My mother decided to keep my car keys along with my whole car because of the giant F I have in my English class, she assured me that the moment I got my grade up I would get my car back—none of this was fair but she didn’t see it that way.

I laid my head straight down on my desk as I listened to Oliver speak lowly next to me, he was giving me all the information I needed about tonight; all I really wanted to find out was where the hell Harry was. It had been three days and I still was too much of a pussy to ask, but on the upside without Harry here to divert me I had made it three full days of attending all of my classes. Oliver also was becoming a nice enough distraction that he was no longer a distraction anymore and was treading into friendship territory; Cassie was not too happy about that. Like clockwork the bell rang, sending everyone to their feet so they could stampede out of the room. Oliver lingered behind for a moment as he slowly gathered his things up, “I’ll meet you at your house tonight so you, Cassandra and I can all go together.”

I rolled my eyes, “Does she have to come,” I asked as I moved my eyes to the redheaded woman that entered the room. Oliver’s eyes bulged out of his head as he directed his attention at the cleavage that was billowing out of her shirt; there was no way they were real. She ignored us and strolled right by with her gaze set directly on Mr. Strong.

Oliver chuckled, bringing my attention back to him, “Your sister is actually really cool, she was invited to this party by a lot of people,” His eyes settled on mine as a playful smile emerged onto his lips, “you’re the one who is crashing this thing.”

I laughed, “All right, I will be nice.”

He smirked, “And she is being kind enough to be the sober driver so you and I can drink and get as wild as we want.”

“Is your brother coming?”

Oliver laughed again, his expression telling me he was thoroughly amused by my antics, “Harry left three days ago, he starts classes again next week and probably wanted to spend some time with Megan.”

“Oh.”

My world came crashing down, Harry had left without saying goodbye; that relationship that he claimed was not that serious sounded pretty damn serious to me. Mr. Strong walked over towards us, setting his eyes on me, “I have to talk to Mrs. Stuart about her daughter.”

He reached into his back pocket and pulled out his wallet, “Why don’t you go get us both a coffee,” He pulled out a twenty and handed it to me with a smirk, “Come back in about twenty minutes and we will continue where we left off yesterday.”

“Sweet,” I grinned as I took the money from his hand and turned to Oliver, “Want to drive me real quick?”

Oliver nodded as Mr. Strong called out, “Get yourself one too, Oliver.”

“Thanks, Mr. Strong,” He said without looking back as we exited the classroom.

The school halls were mostly clear by now but a majority of students still had detentions to serve and extra curricular activities to attend. Oliver grinned as he pulled his car keys out of his backpack, “There’s a Starbucks up the street.”

I followed him out of the school and towards the parking lot where his orange Subaru WRX sat in all its glory. He unlocked the doors and walked to the passenger side, holding it open for me, I shot him a smile as I slid into the seat. I reached over and grabbed the seat belt and pulled it on as Oliver shut the door, he darted to the other side of the car and got in with a smile on his lips. The car roared to life as Oliver put the key in and turned it, “That’s really nice of Mr. Strong to buy us coffee.”

I nodded, Mr. Strong was the only thing keeping me from going completely insane about the Harry thing and spending an hour with his dreamy face would surely get my mind off of it. Oliver smirked as he came to a stop at a red light, he reached into his glove compartment and pulled out a pipe that was already loaded with weed, “Let’s get you in the proper mind state to go deal with Mr. Strong.”

He grinned, “You’re the best Oliver! And the coffee will counteract the marijuana so I’ll be running at full efficiency.”

He took his hit and laughed as he handed it to me. The light turned green and he took off, taking a sharp right turn towards the Starbucks, I took my hit and blew the smoke out of the sun roof as Oliver drove towards the drive-thru which luckily had no line. I took another before I handed it back to him, he held it down in his lap as he pulled up towards the menu and rolled his window down.

“Hi, welcome to Starbucks. How may I help you?”

Oliver cleared his throat as he leaned out, “Uh, hi. Can I get three Grande iced coffees with cream and sugar?”

“Will that be everything for you?”

“Yup.”

“All right, it’ll be $7.35 at the window.”

“Thank you,” Oliver called out as he drove off towards the window.

“Are you going to give Mr. Strong his change back?” He asked as he turned to me.

I shook my head, “Nope,” I said as I handed him the money, “He is keeping me for an hour so I’m just going to take is as my hourly wage.”

Oliver chuckled as he came to a stop at the window, cracking a smile to the barista as he handed her the twenty. “Thank you,” He said as he accepted the change back from her and turned to me. He handed it over, “Shouldn’t you be the one paying him if he is tutoring you like this?”

I groaned, “It’s just such boring bullshit he is making me go over.”

Oliver flashed his gorgeous smile one last time to the barista as he collected our drinks through the window. He took his out of the drink holder and took a sip while I held the other two in my lap, “It’s pretty interesting stuff if you actually pay attention to it.”

He drove off leaving the Starbucks and taking me closer and closer to my hour of hell , “and at least Mr. Strong is a cool guy who makes learning fun.”

I laughed, “Okay, okay,” He turned onto the road our school was on which I could see off in the distance. “Can you be anymore up his asshole?”

Oliver chuckled and took a quick hit from the pipe, “He is a really good teacher, Alex.”

I grinned as he handed me the pipe and I took my final hit, “I know he is, and he isn’t that bad to look at either so I will survive.” I handed him the pipe back with a frown as the car rolled to a stop in front of the school, “Thanks for driving. Will you drop my backpack off at my house?”

He nodded as I popped the door open and stepped out of the car, holding the drink holder in my hands as I shut the door with my hip, “See you at home," Oliver called out as he drove off.

I sighed as I turned to face the school, hopefully Mr. Strong was feeling kind because it was Friday and I really didn’t want to do anything too tedious. I walked towards the front doors and had to use my full body weight to open the door. My eyes shot to the large digital clock that hung in the hallway, “Fuck,” I muttered as I realized I was ten minutes late and began running as the coffee sloshed around in the cups.

I came to a stop in front of his door and pulled it open waltzing in as I tried to catch my breath. My jaw hung open as I stared at a mostly shirtless Mr. Strong. The redheaded woman jumped back a good three feet as she took her hand off his arm, she kept her eyes on his, “Thank you for catching me up on my Jenny’s progress, Mr. Strong.”

She wiped the smeared lipstick off of the corner of her mouth as she sent a sly grin my way before walking towards the door and opening it. I moved my eyes to Mr. Strong who stopped fumbling with the buttons on his shirt and stared at me with a bemused look, “Uh.”

I grinned at him as the door sounded shut, “Wow,” I said with a slight smirk, “I never knew how fitting your name was until now.”

His eyes moved down to his exposed upper half, a small grin tugging at the corner of his lips, “I spilled on myself and needed to change shirts,” He finally spoke, finding the worst excuse in the book as he shrugged his shirt off. He turned around and walked towards his desk drawer, pulling it open as he pulled out a plain black T-shirt, “See, I always keep back-ups for such an occasion.”

I chuckled as I pulled his coffee out of the drink holder and held it out to him, “Coffee?”

He walked over, taking it from me and taking a sip. I smirked as I strode to his desk and grabbed the button up he was wearing earlier, “Yeah, it looks like you spilled a lot of red lipstick on this thing. How does something like that even happen?”

I looked up at him, my eyes tracing over every inch of his body as I finally stood in the position of power, “Uh,” Mr. Strong muttered.
