“Testing.” Jack claps his hand over the microphone, making the room silence; stealing the attention of the hall. “(He whispers, frightening me by his sudden appearance) I’m sorry I’m late. I went to the station, and the police are already outside. Wish me luck girls.” I hold my hand over my chest, catching my breath while Liam gives me an assuring smile. “Hurry up.” Gemma tells him, while he rushes to the stage; standing beside the rest.
“(He smiles widely at the packed room) I welcome you all to this celebration of us high rollers. (Some people laugh, and then quiet down to listen) I want you all to forget about your endless business corporations for tonight; have as much fun as you can. This is the day we all celebrate our success of being the biggest business men amongst the country. If anyone would like to say a word, the mike is here. So please, grace us with your words, and lighten up our evening.”
A man stands up from his seat, walking towards the stage. Right before Jack could hand the man the microphone, Harry snatches it out of his hand.“If you don’t mind, Sir. I would like to say a couple of words.” Jack is surprised, but he acts as he's pleasant; nodding at Harry to speak. “Sorry, Mike. But Harry here would like to go first. (He speaks in a fake care) Go on, son.” Jack and the man, Mike, stand behind Harry, giving him space to be centered to the rest of the room.
“I would like to thank Mr. Jack Downing, for hosting this party. (The audience claps, while my fear awakens) Jack Downing is a great man, when it comes to business intelligence. (He jokes darkly) Who could ever point a flaw in his records? (He pauses, then continues) No one, of course. But have you even wondered why Jack never mentioned what his corporation is about? (Whispers begin to exchange between the invites, while Jack’s face hardens) Let me explain this to all of you, in a short clip. Niall, mate; please hand me the remote.”
Niall walks to Harry, giving him the clicker immediately. I notice how Zayn exchanges looks with Liam and Louis, letting me realise that they are beginning to prepare themselves for the bing bang. Harry clicks the remote at the projector hung on the ceiling, making it reflect the footage on the large screen behind the stage. The video of Niall speaking begins, and I look at the two girls to begin our process.
“(I whisper, while gasps begin to louden) We need to go, right now.” Eleanor and Gemma nod directly, while we stand up to leave the room. We walk to the large door, standing there; ready to leave once this is over. Jack swipes the remote from Harry’s hand, turning the clip off. He then snatches the microphone out of Harry’s hand, playing the role of an innocent sheep.
“(He tries to calm down the roaring audience) People, calm down. Let me assure you that this is just a little joke. Non of this is true, I guarantee you all.” Harry’s voice goes higher, making everyone listen to him: “Maybe you all need a bigger proof. (He smirks bravely) Sir, why don’t you show them a paper bill from your wallet?” Jack’s fist tightens around the microphone, gritting his teeth in a murderous smile.
“(He lifts his wallet, taking a money bill out. He waves it in front of him, chuckling calmly) Is this not a true currency?” The audience laughs, but in a swift movement; Liam approaches Jack. He flicks a lighter under the paper, while red flares begin to burn; exposing the truth finally. “Impostor!” A man yells, and another screams: “He lied!” I didn’t expect the next move that Jack did; he collected his gun from the back of his pants, pointing it at Harry’s head.
