Take Me Home. (28th Chapter)

Harmony's POV:

“I never told anyone about this… (He pauses to look at me deeply) but I’m glad it’s you and no one else. (I feel a little calmer at his words, nodding for him to proceed) My parents passed away, three years from now. It was only me and my sister, who were forced to take care of ourselves. I was entering college at that time, and I couldn’t be happier to be honest. But with the circumstances that happened; I withdrawed the entire payment of tuition fees. I figured that the money is much needed for food and bills, instead of me proceeding with my education. My sister, Gemma, (He sighs) she used to be sad all the time. Whenever I would try to open a conversation with her, she would sob her tears away. I have this problem since then, I don’t like seeing anyone crying. (I recall the memory of when I was crying in the ally, it made him stop everything back then.) Anyway, we fought a lot, and it caused her to leave the house. She decided to leave one day, and she never told me where. I woke up to find the house completely empty; I was the only person in these four walls. I felt trapped, suffocated by how my family was torn into pieces, so I decided to leave. I sold the house, the two cars, and used the money to purchase a little condo here. I began searching for jobs, until I saw a vacancy in Max Plumbing; that’s when I met Louis. He saw how my paycheck wasn’t manageable, so he offered me this job. (He bobs his head to himself, clearly reliving the memory) I remember that day like no other; Jack, the ‘boss’ if I may say, wasn’t a man with a peaceful mind. Louis told him about how I am able to draw, so he forced the contract on me. I was stuck in a rattrap; I would either accept or vanish from this earth. Jack is cautious about secrecy of his corporation, if he notices anyone that would think of tattling; he’d be gone. (I feel my skin shiver at the word ‘gone’, but I keep listening to Harry carefully) That’s when my life changed. I met the rest of the guys, including Luke; remember him? (I nod, sighing at his explanation) I sold the condo, bought a bike; and shared the payment with the rest of the guys to purchase this mansion. Dirty money you may say, but you’re right. But Harmony you need to understand, I did this because there was no choice for me to do so. I don’t care much about money, but my life was risked.”
He huffs his breath deeply, exhaling the effort that he put on his story. His explanation answered all of the questions that were left with a blank space to fill. “(I whisper, noticing my hand place itself on his thigh) What about Laura?” His eyes sadden, but he shakes his head to force a smile. “That’s another story for another time.” I laugh at his cheesy remark, feeling less worried and less scared.
“What happened to me? I mean, how did I end up here?” Harry places his hand over mine, which was already on his thigh. I don’t take it away, since I feel the soothing mode glide over from his touch. “You bumped your little forehead into the glass wall, but I snatched your shirt to pull you from falling.” I tilt my head low, feeling embarrassed from the reason of my faint.
“(He coos, lifting my chin up) Hey, don’t feel bad. We all have those moments when we are blinded from reality.” His words hold an incredible amount of meaning in them, but he uses them to make me feel better about myself. “Could you take me home, Harry?” His eyes deepen in mine, almost colliding with each other. “You don’t want to stay the night?” I shake my head, in a polite matter. “I still need to go back and feed my dog. Its better if I rested in my own bedroom for tonight.” He nods, understanding my situation. Slowly, his fingers lace with mine, while he stretches me up on my heels.
I feel so much better, now that he explained everything. At least I don’t have to worry about my curious questions anymore. I could now rest and feel relaxed when I’m around him and the others. But at the same time, not that relaxed. Because I now hold the power of exposing them or not. But I wouldn’t want tot do that to Harry or the rest of the guys; they didn’t show me anything that could harm me. They treat me like I am a part of them, and so; I would treat them like they are a part of my life.
