Ashamed? (24th Chapter)

Harmony's POV:

At the second ring of the doorbell, I decide I must answer it. Even though, it’s not my house to take the decisions; but its rude to hear and not reply. I twist the doorknob slowly, revealing an unacquainted male. His hair shines amongst the sunlight, making the blonde colour seem like gold. He looks about Harry’s age, tall and built as a body figure.
His eyes scan over my physique, making his lips curve into a sly smile. “Ehm, (I clear my throat, tugging my shirt as low as I can) How may I help you?” His eyes go back to my face, while his arm leans on the doorframe; bringing his face closer.“And who may you be?” I follow my social traditions, stretching my hand to shake his. “I’m Harmony, are you here to see anyone in particular?”
He chuckles slowly, shaking my hand with an indescribable stare. “I’m not sure anymore (He grins devilishly) I’m Luke.” I nod, sliding my hand out of his; suddenly I don’t feel like I do appreciate this guy anymore. I have this sense that he doesn’t strike out the word ‘safe’ in his dictionary. And to prove myself right, a hand grabs my waste from the behind, quickly hovering me to the owner’s back.
I glance over the familiar bare skin, scanning my eyes lower till I’m met with white underwear; Harry. “What are you doing here?” He spits at the Luke guy, earning back another sneaky laugh. “Does the bird belong to you, Harold? (He tilts his head to spot me, sending me a quick wink) She looks innocent to be one of yours.” Harry replies harshly: “She’s not mine. (My heart sinks lower from the happy state, while he proceeds) She’s a friend of ours that all.” A friend? That’s what he chose to say about me?
What happened to yesterday’s occurrences? Does Harry really find me a friend, and nothing more? Silly me, what should I expect from a guy that can’t have girls around, unless they were nude and lying beneath him? I shake my head, even though no one could see my reaction; I guess its time for me to snap back to my life’s reality.
I begin to step backwards, when Harry turns his head to meet mine. “(He whispers) Stay in my room. I’ll be there in two, I promise.” I don’t respond, but I do obey his request; regardless of my changing feelings. How could I be a friend, if he begged me last night to admit my feelings of like towards him? His body was tangled with mine like a greek artefact, when we were asleep. Of course I played my part that I was asleep, when I felt his hands holding me closer.
But now I regret not pushing him away. Why would he lie and claim that I’m a friend? He didn’t even say that I was his friend to make it less harsh, he generalised and said I was ‘ a friend of ours’. Which means I need to start behaving with him like what he stated. Maybe he’s ashamed of me, but why?
Could it be because of what I told him about my past? Does he not want to involve with me, after he knew I was an orphan? All the clues lead to such conclusion; Harry is ashamed of me. I change my clothes immediately, using the time I have alone to prepare for my departure.
I was stupid to stay the night here, but I’m dumber for thinking that Harry would find me as interesting as I felt. But he’s right, I’m nothing. Why would I be? Wasn’t his initial plan to just shag me and throw me on the sidewalk to get a new target? I guess this is what he only sees me as; a mark.
A stupid and irrelevant mark that he will cross out of his list soon. The only thing that makes me negatively different from the rest, is his ashamed feeling towards me. I shouldn’t have opened my heart to him, its all a mistake…
