Only half a blue sky

Only half a blue sky

I could feel the tears brimming at the corner if my eyes as I watched him walk away. For once I thought I actually had a chance to make just one friend. For once I thought that I'd actually have someone to call a friend and have someone who'dmp stick up for me if I was getting bullied. But I was so wrong. He was just like all of them.

****

I decided to walk home that day from school. I waited until all the buses had left- because I didn't want others talking about me- before I headed home. Little did I know that I was going to regret really badly.

I stepped out of the school and started heading home, when I saw a couple of people smoking on the parking lot of the school. They would get in so much trouble if someone caught them smoking on the school property. As I neared them, I recognised them to be the Harry kid, Sandra and a couple of other guys. One of the guys had his armed circled around a blonde girl as they shared a cigarette. I tried to speed walk past them but things didn't go exactly as planned.

"Such a loser that the bus driver didn't want to take you home?" The guy who had his arms around the blonde girl mocked and she nudged his side, but chuckled a little. As for the rest of them, they doubled over in laughter.

"Aww, of only you had a car...oh wait, you don't because you're so stupid that you couldn't pass your test!" How dare he? What did he know? How does he just assume that I don't have a car? That I didn't pass my drivers test? He just moved here! That Harry kid turned out to be nothing I had hoped for. Was expecting him to be popular? Yes. Was I expecting him to be this cruel? No.

I kept my head down and ignored all of them, until a sudden pain jolted through my system. Someone was pulling hard at my hair, and by the pink hair that I had caught sight of, I knew is was Sandra. I screamed in pain as her grip became tighter.

" How dare you ignore us when we're talking to you? Huh?! Answer me bitch!" She yelled and I screamed at the top of my lungs as her knee came into contact with my back. I tumbled onto the floor of the parking lot. I let out another scream as I felt a kick delivered to my side. And another, then another.

Then they hopped into their cars and left me alone on the floor. Bruised, battered and positive that I had a broken rib.

When I got home, I was glad that my dad wasn't there yet. I didn't want him to see me like that or he'd go crazy. He didn't know I was getting bullied and I didn't plan on telling him because...well, it wasn't that easy.

I limped my way upstairs and into my room, wincing every time my feet touched the floor. When I got inside, I dropped my backpack on top of my bed and headed straight for the bathroom. A cold shower would do the trick.

I changed into my pyjamas so I wouldn't have to do so later in the evening and went downstairs to watch some T.v. My dad still wasn't home. I plopped onto the soda, resting my legs on the coffee table before I grabbed the remote and flipped through the channels. No, I did not have Netflix. I had a normal T.V.

After half an hour of finding absolutely nothing to watch, I gave in and decided to watch Nickelodeon. There was this show that was currently playing called...Henry Danger? Yeah, that was probably it. Seeing them talking to their friends and laughing and having fun made me think to myself , 'I hate my life'. So apparently, this kid was a sidekick for a superhero and he had to keep it a secret. But then his friend finds out and he gets fired. Okay. That makes so much sense. Cause superheroes are totally real.

My head snapped door as I heard the sound of keys jiggling. Dad was home. I got up-I don't even know why- and waited till he came inside.

"hey honey, how was school today?" He asked, dropping the brown paper bags that contained groceries on the kitchen counter.

"Same. How was work?" I swiftly turned the conversation away from me and to my Dad. When he opened his mouth to tell me about his day, I took a seat. He always had something to say about work and he never stopped talking about it. I was going to regret asking, but it was better than us talking about school.
