“The story of my family...changes with the listener.”— modified quote of Jennifer Haigh

Harry's POV

“Harry, s-stop! I c-can't breathe.”

The sound of her high-pitched laughter echoed throughout my bedroom as she clutched her sides to prevent me from tickling her anymore. Lucy writhed beneath me on top of the duvet with her eyes squeezed closed, and a smile indented on her face. How she managed to look so vulnerable and innocent at the same time was still hard for me to wrap my head around. As soon as she told me the good news, I knew I had to see her. This couldn't wait any longer.

“Alright, alright, but I still want an answer to my question,” I smirked while moving some hair out of her face.

“I don't see why you'd want to. Remember what happened the last time you took me out to a fancy restaurant?” she sighed before opening her eyes again.

Whatever I say or do, it always seems to come back to this.

“Well, we were under different circumstances then, love. I didn't really like you, you didn't really like me, but things have changed. Besides, I thought girls liked going out to eat and stuff,” I frowned as I nervously scratched the back of my head.

I was only going off of what Louis said. I haven't had a girlfriend in two years, and my last relationship landed me in rehab. I don't exactly have the best track record when it comes to dating women.

“We do, but can't we just go some place that's a little more secluded? There's this diner I've been dying to go next to Cambridge,” Lucy suggested while raising her hand to caress my cheek, "Please Harry?"

I sighed as I found myself getting lost in those big brown eyes. Why would I say no to her? “Okay, Lulu. We can go, but next time I'll surprise you. Just wait and see,” I winked before leaning down to press a kiss to her lips.

What I intended to be a sweet, passionate display of my affection quickly turned lustful and promiscuous. Lips as sweet as honey glided against mine in a euphonic manner. It felt as if she was kissing to the steady beat of my heart. Her hands went straight to playing in my hair, tugging at the curls crowning my head, and it only turned me on even more. The bottom of her shirt slowly began to ride up her hips, exposing some skin, and I used that opportunity to lightly stroke circles into her side. Lucy shuddered at the touch as my thumb pressed against her skin harder, a moan vibrating into my mouth. I gently bit down on her bottom lip and slid my tongue inside. I teasingly massaged it over hers before attempting to retreat, but Lucy wouldn't allow that to happen.

She had complete control over me.

When our kisses finally did come to a stop, I softly brushed my nose against her cheek and pulled away chuckling. Her face was completely flushed, and her lips were swollen from the kiss. I took pleasure in knowing these effects were the results of my actions.

“The food should be ready. Are you still hungry?” I asked her as I climbed off the mattress. I grabbed her hand and helped her up to her feet too.

Lucy nodded her head while biting down on her lip.

God, she looked so sexy.

“Okay, give me a few minutes to straighten up in here, and I'll meet you in the living room with our lunch,” I told her while walking over to the headboard and adjusting the duvet.

“Don't be too long,” She whispered before closing the door behind her.

♢Lucy's POV♢

After I finished eating, I told Harry I'd clean the dishes. It was the least I could do since he made lunch for us both. I have to admit, bakery boy has some serious cooking skills. I leaned against the kitchen sink with a smile across my face as I scrubbed away the soup stains lingering on the plates. Harry made vegetable soup for lunch, a personal favorite of mine. I still can't believe he went out of his way to learn the recipe for me. It's one of the sweetest things he's ever done. I shook my hands dry after putting back the China and the silverware before turning around to meet a dimpled smile and curly hair.

“How long were you standing there watching me wash the dishes, Styles?” I studied his face quizzically as my smile grew wider.

“Not too long,” Harry grinned while taking my hand and pulling me toward him. My body rested snugly against his chest as I inhaled the scent leaving his neck. Old spice. I'd recognize that smell on anyone. My father used to wear that cologne. I wonder why Harry's never mentioned his father to me before.

“You smell really good,” I giggled before planting a soft kiss to his neck and meeting his eyes with a smirk.

“Thanks, it's ol-”

“Old spice, yeah I know. My dad used to wear that all the time,” I told him. “Did you grow up only living with yours?” I found myself asking. The words slipped out before I could take them back. Harry's body tensed up at my question, and his features suddenly hardened.

“N-no. I used to live with my mother and my sister Gemma,” He sighed, running a hand through his hair, “but that was before my parents divorced and before I was forced to move in with my father. I haven't seen them in six years.”

“Well, have you ever tried reaching out to them? I'm sure they miss you.”

He just shook his head and gave me a sad smile. “I don't think they do, love.”

“Of course they do. They're still your family, Harry. At least think about it,” I pleaded.

“Okay…” Harry sighed, kissing my forehead. “I will. Hey, when do you want to go to that place you were talking about?” he asked me while resting his hands on my shoulders. It didn't surprise me that he'd want to switch subjects.

“Does Friday work for you?” I proposed.

“Yeah, sure. I'll pick you up after I get off of work,” He nodded reassuringly.

“Great. Well, I should probably get going before Anya gets even more suspicious. I'll see you Friday, Harry,” I smiled before pecking his lips and leaving the kitchen.

Harry's POV

“Bye Lucy…” I called out to her from the kitchen door as she left.

I sighed and walked into the living room with a hand tangled in my curls. I locked the door using the chain and went back inside my room, leaning against the doorframe in deep thought.

I knew the discussion of my family was bound to come up sooner or later, but I wish she never asked. I don't keep pictures of them around the apartment for a reason. It pains me just to think about it. Gemma was already in University by the time my parents split up so she wasn't as affected as I was. My mum hardly objected to the idea of me living with my father at the age of seventeen because she didn't want to put up with me anymore. I remember her saying I was too heavy of a load to wash, whatever that means. She thought it would be good for me to live with him, but if only she knew he made things worse. I told Lucy I'd think about it, and I have. It's best to sever all ties. I'm my own person now, and they could have chosen to be a part of my life, but they made the decision not to. I don't need them anymore.

They don't need me anymore.
