One Chance

My hands shook as I paced back and forth backstage. I felt like I was going to be sick. So much ran through my head as I thought to the future 10 minutes when I will be on stage. "So you just left?" Lacy asked as she and Jacob sat on a big couth in front of me. I nodded and Jacob burst out into laughter. I told them about what happens between Lou and I, I told them everything, even about my parents. "It’s not funny!" Ashley snapped at the young boy. "Yes it is, she HIT him then LEFT!" He said as he doubled over, clutching is stomached from laughing so hard. "So what are you going to do?" Lacy asked me before popping another grape into her mouth. I looked around and spotted him through the crowd.

I strutted across the stage area, attempting not to fall in my heals, and right up to Louis. "I can't go out with you tomorrow." I told him. The people around us went silent as they turned to watch the seen unfolding before them. "Not here." He suspired, grabbing my forearm and dragging me into a corner. "Why?" He asked once we were safe. "Im stressed enough as it is, plus adding what will happen if we go on this date and it doesn’t work. No. I can't handle that." I told him. "You need to get in your place Louis." A stage producer told him trying to drag him away. "But Abby." He pleads as he tried to fight against the arm that was pulling him away. "You can only be my mentor." I said before walking the other way.

"And you’re on in 5, 4, 3, 2." And the worker pushed me onto the stage. I walked onto stage avoiding the eyes of the judges. I sang my song perfectly, my voice strong just like Louis said it would be. I walked of stage just looking back long enough to see Louis's pleading eyes, and that's when I knew. That's when I knew, this boy was not giving up on me.
