Over Again

The door opened as Zayn and I stared at each other, making my head snap to look at the person entering without my permission. It was Caleb.

"Hey Gracie-" he started, then caught sight of Zayn. His expression hardened. "What is he doing here?"

"Caleb," I said. "Zayn was just talking to me." Caleb was the only person in the family who knew about my problems, and the full story of what happened the day Zayn left. He knew everything. He used to like Zayn...and now, not so much.

"Erm..." Zayn said uncomfortably. "Hi, Caleb. How have you been?"

"Fine, Zayn," he said, glaring at the older boy. He turned his attention to me. "Gracie, may I please talk to you." He glanced at Zayn. "Alone?" I nodded, and looked at Zayn.

"Taking the hint, he murmured something of going out in the hall. He stood and left the room, and then Caleb started talking.

"Why was he here?" I opened my mouth, but he cut me off. "You know what will happen if he stays. He needs to go back to his rich pretty boy life. I'm not going to let him be near you, not after what happened last time he left."

"Caleb," I scolded. "You're not in charge of me. I'm not going to break down again, because I'm not going to let him back into my life. Okay?"

"Have you told him?" He looked up at me through his long eyelashes. I nodded.

"Why?!"

"It just came out, Caleb! He wouldn't leave me alone!" He sighed, tugging at his hair. He paced around the room.

"He's lucky he's a good four years older than me," he muttered, "or I'd beat the crap out of him."

"God, he's a pretty city boy, he can't fight!" We laughed.

"You're probably right. He lost the skills when the lil' boy and of his started. Pretty City Boy, ha!" Caleb's face suddenly got serious. "But don't let him hurt you." I nodded.

He came over to me, giving me a hug. I only let Caleb give me hugs, and that's rare. I don't do physical contact much anymore.

He nodded, then left the room.
