Over Again

My phone lit up, and the ringer started. I quickly answered it, not wanting to disturb Gracie from her nap. "Hello?"

"I can't believe you," the person on the other end said. I bit my lip.

"What do you mean, Zayn?"

He scoffed. "Don't give me that crap. It's on E News. You and Gracie kissed!"

"What does I matter to you? You have Perrie! She's just your friend," I said. I could hear him slam a door in the background.

"She's my best friend, Niall! We've known each other since we were children!"

"And that means nothing," I say darkly. "I like her, an she likes me. Not. You. So just leave us alone," I say and hangup. I slide my phone into my pocket and go back into the living room, where Gracie had fallen asleep on the couch.

I throw a blanket onto her, and turn up the heat. She looked cold, and she was frowning in her sleep.
