Pandemonium

Shay

For the first time since meeting Niall and Luke I had no nightmares. Sleeping so close to Niall made me feel safe and protected. I mean no offence to my brother, but Niall was the one who got me out and back to Harry and my friends, so now, I associate him with safety. Everything about him calms me. His smile, his eyes, even his smell, I don't know why it is this way, but I embrace it, since he became my anchor to sanity.
When the sun light comes in through the window and wakes me, I sit up and glance over at his sleeping face. He is asleep on his stomach, and his head is facing me. His lashes are long and brushing the top of his cheeks and he is quite beautiful to me.
The duvet is pulled down exposing his bare skin. Only now I notice he slept without a shirt on. I get out of bed quietly and tip toed out of the room, closing the door silently after me, trying my best not to wake him. I am not sure how Harry would react if he didn't find me in our room, so I am doing some damage control, heading back to the room I share with him so I can get a change of clothes and head into the shower.
"Where have YOU been?" I jump at the sound of Harry's voice, my hands come to rest on my chest, where my heart is, as if making sure it still works.
"Gosh! You gave me a fright!" I breathe and close my eyes.
"I gave you a fright? Think what went through my mind when I walk into the bedroom and you're not in it!" Harry exclaims.
"Calm down, I was in Niall's room,"
"WHAT??"
"What part of calm down didn't you understand?" I roll my eyes, knowing he would act this way.
"After what happened to you, you go and sleep with a boy you hardly know?" Harry was following me around the room as I collected my things for the shower.
"Nothing happened, I just didn't want to sleep alone, and Luke was out with you, so there was room in their room," I explain.
"I would have staid! You should have said something!" Harry raised his voice.
"Don't yell at me Harry, I didn't want you to stay with me, and Niall can be trusted, now if you could excuse me- I need a shower," I shove past my brother and into the bathroom.
I wipe the seat of the loo so I can sit down and pee, not needing to worry about it being dirty. Then I get into the shower and let the cold water wash over me, waking up my body.
When I am done I brush my teeth, and get dressed. I put on my jeans and a green top, pulling my hair back.
When I am finally ready, I go down stairs to find everyone in the kitchen, tea mugs and coffee in their hands.
"Good morning," I smile, making sure not to look at my brother or Niall.
"When are we heading out?" Dani asks, putting down her tea.
"Well, the moment everyone is ready to go," Niall shrugs.
"I'm ready," Ashton speaks up
"So am I," Danielle says.
"Us too," Luke nods.
"Well our bags are up stairs but they are packed," Harry glances at me.
"Good, you can go get them, while I start the car," I say
"You're driving?" He raises his brows.
"I am, Danielle feel like riding with me?" I smile at her.
"Sure, it'll be fun," She beams.
"I'll join you," Ashton decides, which leaves Harry to ride with Luke and Niall.

Harry

When Shay walks up to me, her hand stretched for the car keys it takes everything I have not to refuse. I tell myself she is better off driving then in a car with Niall.. Why would she do such a thing? And right when I started to like him!
We all head out bags in hand, and split into two groups, Shay, Dani and Ashton, and Niall, Luke and me. Shay unlocks the car and sets her bag on the seat while she rumbles around inside. I know what she is looking for and a moment later she finds it. She opens the case and takes out her glasses. They are a thick plastic frame and they are a dark blue. She looks like such a geek with them, but even though she refused to get a new pair. Dani gets into the passenger side while Ashton climbs into the back. Shay puts her hair up, tying it on the top of her head like the geek she is, not caring that it is all messy and sticking out everywhere. Sometimes I have this feeling that she likes it the most when it's like that, and I can't help but smirk at the way she looks. She catches me watching her and pulls a face. I walk up to her window and lean in.
"Drive safe," I tell her.
"I always do, at least now it's only us on the road," She winks.
I couldn't stay cross with her. Not when she was finally in a good mood, the first time in days.
"Ok then, so you follow us," I instruct her.
"Sure thing, play nice with the other boys," She smiles, but I know that is a warning. I wave to Dani and salute Ash, before I head to the black SUV. Niall was already in the driver's seat, sunglasses on his nose, waiting for Luke and me to get in. I walk around and slid into the passenger seat, making Luke get in the back.
"All set?" Niall asks and starts the car. He stops when he is parallel to Shay, opening the window, looking through and Waiting for Dani to do the same.
"So, you're going to follow us, if you need to stop call Harry, and stay close," He orders her.
I watch as Shay and Dani flash smiles, and then Niall take over.
I note the tone of his voice when he talked to Shay. He cared about her, and that for some reason put my mind at ease, I know now there is one more person who will look out for her, and for now, it is enough for me.

Luke

The drive was quiet. I tried to start up a conversation, Niall answering when he had to, but Harry kept silent, looking out the window the whole time. I also notice Niall kept glancing at the review mirror, making sure Shay was still following close by.
He told me earlier today that she came to our room last night, too scared to sleep alone. I guess that is why Harry is sulking, I can understand him. If I had a sister I wouldn't want anyone coming near her, being over protected- especially if it was Niall. I mean, don't get me wrong. Niall is my best friend and I would take a bullet for him, but I also know him best, and he is one player. The girls in town loved him, always throwing themselves at his feet leaving their dignity at the door. It wasn't that he was mean to them or mistreated them, but he refused to get serious with anyone, and the girls knew it too, though it didn't stop their foolish behavior.
When he was asked about it, he would only shrug and say it was for the fun of it, that they knew he was not promising them a relationship, he wasn't promising to keep seeing them, or dating them, it was a onetime thing, and by the looks of it they were more than happy with this arrangement. Maybe it was the good boy- bad boy thing he had going on. He was smart, acing his classes. He had those blue eyes the girls drooled over and that boyish smile that made them weak at the knees, he played football and basketball for the fun of it, but his real passion was Krav- maga. He loved the fight, and he was the best. No one challenged him, because all the guys were too scared of getting hurt, and that was what made him king of Burberry.
"YO Ni, don't we need to stop soon? Fill up the tank and sorts? I'm also getting hungry," I lean in between the two front seats, my arms hugging the heads.
"Yeah, I think you're right, there should be a station up ahead," Niall nods, and once again I see his eyes peek from his sunglasses up to the review mirror.
"Harry," Niall starts then, and I sit back knowing where this is going, Niall is not one to keep quiet, always setting his cards on the table for all to see.
Harry turns to look at him, and once again I am amazed to how much he and Shay looked alike.
"Nothing happen with me and Shay, I promise you," He states.
"I know," Harry mumbles.
"So why are you so quiet?" Niall questions.
"Because I am still trying to figure all of this out, she is the only thing I have left, so mind me while I'm being over protected," He scuffs.
"All right, I respect that," Niall nods, and I can't help but smile. Niall had a way with talking people into what he wants, and I wonder how fast he will be able to convince Harry he can trust him.
"I will never hurt her," Niall promises after a moment.
"You better not," Harry warns him. "You damn straight better not,"

Dani

"I need to pee," I tell them rocking in my seat. It has been over an hour and the coffee I drank earlier was taking its tool on me.
"Can't you hold it in a while longer?" Ashton asks.
"I am holding it in for an hour already! I need you to stop Shay! Please??" I beg her.
"All right," Shay smirks while shaking her head, pulling over to the side.
"Ohhh Thank you thank you thank you!" I gush while opening the glove compartment and take out some Kleenex. I rush out and then stop looking around.
"What are you waiting for?" Ashton asks, a little annoyed.
"Where can I pee? Ash come with me!" I whine.
"Go behind that tree, and I am not coming with, go pee on your own," He slumps down on the seat, crossing his arms.
"Come on, I'll come with you," Shay unbuckles her seat belt, and gets out of the car.
"You should learn from Shay how to be a good sibling," I hiss at him as we climb over the rail road and down the dirt towards the tree ahead of us.
"Make sure no one is watching," I tell Shay as I hand over the Kleenex and pull down my pants.
"Don't worry, I've got your back," Shay giggles slightly, since there is no real reason for her to be the look out, being it is only us on the road.
"Hey Shay, can I drive now?" I ask her once I'm done.
"Sure, why not?" She smiles, and I clap my hands in delight. I liked Shay, she was cool, and I liked the fact she looks like Harry, since he is quite the handsome bloke.
When we reach back to the car, the black SUV is stopped in front of us, and I notice the frown on Shay's face.
"I thought I told you if you need to stop you call us," Niall spoke, his voice slightly raised.
"Dani needed the stop, I didn't think we needed to broadcast the fact she had to pee," Shay's frown grows deeper, and her hands find her hips, reminding me of a mother telling her children off.
"Nonetheless you should have called," Niall takes a step closer to her. They are only inches apart, and he is quiet taller than her, looking down his nose at her face. She tilts her head slightly up so she can glance into his eyes, though he had sunglasses on which were shielding them.
"All right, you made you point," Harry steps in between them pulling Shay aside.
"Next time you call ok?" He says quietly, in that tone of his he uses only with her.
"Whatever, there you go Danielle," Shay tosses the car keys to me, and I catch them in one hand.
"What do you think you are doing?" Ashton exclaims when he sees that. Oh no, I forgot about him.
"Shay said I can drive for a bit," I chimed.
"You can drive?" Luke raises his brows.
"Aren't you too young?" Niall pulls a face.
"Yes she is! Shay- she can't drive!" Ashton granted.
"I thought she did, the way she asked me," Shay folded her arms, raising one eye brow at me, understanding now that I tried pulling one over her.
"Dad taught me how to," I pout, hurt that they are treating me like a child, even though they are only one year older than me.
"Yeah well it is one thing to drive in a parking lot, and another to drive on a highway!" Ashton replied angrily.
"Let's get on with it, Danielle, on our next stop for the night, I'll take you out for a drive, and once you are confident enough you'll get your turn to drive," Harry offers, to stop the fighting.
His offer is good enough for me, since I get to spend some time alone with him in addition to practicing my driving. I can tell Ashton was not too happy with this arrangement, but he chose to let it be for now, so we can move along.

Niall

"All right, next station we see we go in, to fill up, we can eat then too," I say.
"I'm riding with you guys," Ashton stated, then walking over to the SUV and getting in to the back, slamming the door after him. I wince at the sound of the door closing, wishing he would be more gentle with my baby. I notice the same look on Harry's face, I can tell he has the same appreciation as I have for vehicles.
"You know what? Harry why don't you drive?" I think you'll enjoy it," I toss him the keys, and note the smile tagging at the corners of his mouth as he catches them in mid air.
"I'll join the girls," I say getting in the back seat.
Danielle washes her hands with a bottle of water before getting back in. I watch Harry and Shay exchange looks. Shay winks at him and gets in the car. She starts it and drives around the SUV taking lead. I look back to see the lads pile into my car, and soon enough Harry is following. I turn back around and lean forward switching on the radio, though nothing is playing but static. Dani pushes in a CD and Hip Hop fills the car.
"Who listens to this rubbish?" I ask as I watch the girls bang their heads to the sound.
"I do," Shay smiles. It seemed that she and Dani also knew all the words to the song which kind of amazed me. I leaned my back to the seat, arms thrown behind my head as I watch the girls enjoy the ride.
It felt more like on a field trip then a mission to find out what happened to our world, and I liked it. I could enjoy this for the next few months I have before I disappear like the rest of the world did.

I must tell you all how blessed I feel from all of your lovely comments and messages!
it truly does make my day a whole lot better...
I have to give this huge project in, in the end of June, and I am working on it since October.. (college life) so writing these stories is my way of letting my mind rest- does that make any sense?
Anyway, I have been thinking about this story.. I mean I kind of have it figured out, like, what will happen and where they will go and such..
I guess is my question is if you guys really like it? since I feel like people aren't finding it catchy enough to read on.. so maybe I should adjust it some? SO I would love it if you could share some of your thoughts and you take on it, if you have an idea where this should go? or do you like it just the way it is and sod with whoever doesn't find it interesting?
