More Than Friends
Chapter 17
Katie’s POV
"Mum, I don’t want to go out." I pleaded with my mum, she wanted to take me shopping but I was having none of it, I hadn’t been out of the house in 2 weeks, and I definitely wasn’t ready to do it now.
"Yes, you are, its your punishment, and also your treat." she replied. She grabbed my arm and pulled me off the sofa.
"Can’t my punishment just be to have to stay here?"
"No, you’re coming with me." And with that she yanked me our of the front door.
I had spent most of my time at home crying, and towards the end of this week, I realised I needed to move on, not that I wanted to, because I still love and care for Harry, but what he did hurt me, and what I did hurt him. Maybe it was just for the better.
Anyway he was on tour now, so I didn’t have to see him, I hadn’t had any contact with him, because I left my phone at his place, and also because I deactivated my twitter for the time being.
"This is nice." My mum said, pointing to a Brown dress whilst taking a look through Topshop. I stared in the mirror to my right and saw how hideous I looked today.
I was wearing a pair of Hollister sweat pants and a plain white t-shirt that was really old and my vans. My hair was pulled into a sloppy bun, and I only had foundation on my face. I looked a fucking mess, but I didn’t care. I couldn’t be bothered to change anything about my appearance.
After browsing through Topshop, we decided to make a stop in Starbucks to having a chat when my mums phone rang.
"Hello." She said, her face was suddenly covered with worry. "Okay, I’ll put her on."
She passed me her phone and for a minute I panicked thinking it was Harry, but it was Zoe.
"Turn on Channel ten now!" She yelled into the phone.
"Zoe, i’m in the middle of Starbucks with mum." I replied.
She was silent for a moment. “Oh” she paused for a moment. ”Get home now Kate! Now, You need to see this.”
"Okay, okay, Well be home right away." I put the phone down and me and my mum ran to the car park and drove home. When we got there, Zoe had paused the news.
"And in other news." the reporter said.
"1D star Harry Styles, broke down on stage last night and started crying in his solo in their hit ‘Little Things’ Harry then left the stage for around 5 minutes with red eyes and was very quiet for the rest of the show. Many fans are saying it was because his girlfriend Katie Foster wasn’t there, we wonder if she’ll show up to the next show after seeing her loved one’s heart breaking. Back to you in the studio."
I stood in silence and stared at the TV screen, I couldn’t take it anymore.
"Mum, I have to go." I started crying.
"We need to sort everything out, I’m suffering, and clearly so is he." I sobbed.
She just nodded and helped me upstairs to get my bags.
My family hugged me goodbye as I made my way to the car, I put my bags in the car and drove away.
Harry’s POV
"I can’t do tonight’s show." I told Liam.
"You have too, how do you think I felt with Danielle, I still miss her now Haz, its been 5 months. But you have to not think about Kate for the sake of the show." Liam sat down on the sofa next to me and patted my back.
Zayn and Louis were sat on the floor in-front of us playing a game of Fifa on the PS3.
"We care for you man, we really do, but, we can’t be here to catch you all the time. You need to learn to fend for yourself." Louis stated, turning his head to look at mine, he gave me a small concerning smile, than turned to continue with his game.
I nodded my head and stood up with Liam.
"Better get ready for sound check." I replied.
Kate’s POV
I reached Harry’s place about two hours after I left, I had driven like a madman and had arrived in London very quickly, luckily traffic hadn’t been bad.
I stumbled out of my car and reached for my keys to his apartment in my bag.
I opened the door and on the counter saw my phone. I looked around the apartment and saw that it was tidy, it looked as if no one had been here in a few weeks.
After collecting a few extra belongings I headed to the door and text Niall.
'Hey Ni, I need to talk to you but if Harry is in the room can you say you're going to the toilet or something, cause I really don't want him to know, please get back to me x Kate x'
After texting Niall I got in my car and drove to the O2 Arena where they were playing tonight.
Just before I arrived my phone started ringing.
"Hello, Kate its Niall, I got your text and Harry’s in the other room what do you want to talk about?" He said.
"I’m outside, can you get me a pass or something, I need to come in, but don’t tell Harry, I need to have some closure and sort out our situation, i have felt like I’ve been dying for the past few weeks and, Harry was crying the other night, I saw it on TV plus I need him, I can’t be without him." I began to cry.
"Its okay, don’t cry i’m on my way outside, where are you parked."
"I’m by the gate where the tour buses come in, but the security guard won’t let me in." I sobbed.
"Okay, I can see you." He said.
Niall ran over to my car, I got out and he pulled me into a tight hug, I sobbed into his shoulder making his shirt slightly damp.
"Here’s your pass." We let go of each other and he handed me my security pass. I showed the guard on duty my pass and quickly got back into my car and drove through the gate.
After parking in a suitable place, Niall hugged me again, this time whilst rubbing circles into the small of my back, It was nice to be hugged again, I had deeply missed the way Harry and I used to cuddle on the sofa together and watch back to back episodes of Friends.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Niall questioned.
I nodded, Niall grabbed my hand and led me inside the backstage door, the approaching sound of loud voices was making me even more nervous than before.
I wanted to see Harry again, I really did, but what if he didn’t love me anymore, he could have been with Emma, these were the things I was dreading.
Niall and I stood in the dressing room, the backs of the other boys turned away from us, they were playing on Fifa, as usual.
I took a step away from Niall, towards the sofa the boys were sat on, Harry was now sat in-front of me, unsuspecting of what was to happen next.
I reached out to run my fingers through his hair, when I suddenly felt dizzy, everything around me was closing in and everything I could see had gone black.
Pitch black.
