Chapter 1
Dear Diary,
Today has been quite ordinary, if I may say so myself. Usually, my days are filled with adventures - that is, if you would count exploring this average city an adventure - however, today was fairly average. I went to a small cafe in the morning, enjoying my Sunday while it lasts, before I have to go to UNI again tomorrow. Now it's nighttime and I'm in bed, doing my usual routine of writing to you before going to sleep.
Anyhow, you won't believe what happened in the cafe. I saw this man - he looked about 20, not much older than I - and he was waiting in line. I observed him from my seat from afar - I was just curious, alright? That, and he was kinda cute. He looked a bit british also, so I thought I might be able to make friends with him, since now I know I am not the only brit here in L.A.
Back to the subject at hand, once it was his turn to order, he asked for a simple black coffee, but the young cashier/waitress or whatever you call it was frozen. Not much later, she regained her senses and squealed, claiming it was, I think Zach, Zayn, perhaps? I'm not sure, but the lad started freaking out and quickly ran out, but not before his eyes met mine by chance.
Call it what you will - fate, destiny, a horse perhaps - but when he looked at me I swear I saw the world stop for a second. I felt as if I could read him and understand him, just by looking into his eyes. All I know is, I have to know that man.
