Never Tear Us Apart
I MISSED THIS
They walked along the shore in an awkward silence, still with Sophie keeping a safe distance between the pair. Everytime Harry would try to close the gap between the pair, Sophie would just move further away. So soon he gave up. ''Sophie.'' Sophie was shook out of her daydream buy Harry's voice.
''Hmm?'' She made eye contact with him.
''Why are you so scared of me?'' Sophie was slightly taken a back by his question, but to her the answer was clear. ''Im not scared of you Harry. I'm scared of us.''
''What do you mean?'' A confused expression appeared on his face.
''When we're together, the whole world just seems like it's collapsing all around us. It's just...It's...just I don't think we're good for each other.'' She stuttered before finishing the sentence as quick as she could. A tight knot formed in the pit of her stomach. ''How can you even say that?'' He stopped in his tracks and turned to face Sophie, who had also stopped too. Harry continued with his reasoning, ''Your the best thing that's ever happened to me Sophie.'' There faces were now inches apart. ''And you used to be the best thing that has happened to me Harry. You know that.''' She whispered against his slightly parted lips.
''Used to be?''
''You know why Harry.'' She replied bluntly.
''You hurt me Harry. We were engaged, and you just left, and the worse part was, you didn't even have the guts to leave me before you started a relationship with her.'' She backed up, but only slightly. Harry moved forward, Towering over Sophie. She placed her hands on his bare torso and tried to avoid eye contact, but I was no use. Harry moved her head back round with his index finger so she was facing him again.
''I'm sorry Sophie.'' He whispered before trying to hold back tears.
''And you think that's going to make everything better, sorry?'' She too was now holding back tears, before she continued. ''Let me ask you something Harry. If Olivia hadn't turned out to be a complete phsyco, would you still be with her?'' A single tear now rolled down Sophie's cheek but Hary was still holding them back. He looked down at the sand shamefully. Still saying nothing.
''You would wouldn't you?''
Harry still said nothing. ''But I'm not.'' He moved closer once more and whispered against Sophie's lips once more. Before Sophie could think of a reply, he crashed his lips against hers, at first Sophie was frozen with shock, just a couple of seconds later she began to kiss back, to the surprise of Harry, and even to herself. Harry's hands cupped her face and Sophie's ran up and down his arms.
You can build as many walls as you like, as high as you like, but no walls will last forever. All they need is a single event to bring them crashing down.
