Bree’s P.O.V.

“And she’s not going to be a stranger any longer.” Harry smiled at Jack and then at me.

What did he exactly mean by that?

I quickly looked away, opposite to Harry’s direction and then I realized everyone was staring at us.

“Erm, Jack. Let’s talk some other time, yeah?” Harry said and gave Jack a pat on the shoulder. Jack nodded and he mouthed something to Harry as he slowly disappeared in the crowd.

I looked around again and the people around us stopped staring and continued dancing. Strange.

Eventually, I started to dance. I’m sure I was making awkward movements like Harry did. But at that moment, I didn’t care anymore. I felt free.

“Not bad.” Harry whispers, just enough for me to hear.
“Liar,” I mouthed as the music became too loud for us to hear each other. He laughed, but his facial expression quickly changed.

“Hey.” He whispers just below my ear. “Does it still hurt?”

What? Wait. Oh. I realized he had been looking at my wrists. I quickly hid them behind me.

“N-no.” I said softly. I hesitant to tell him further about it, but at the same time I wanted someone to know. Maybe it was because nobody really asked about these cuts. Not even my own father. And as much as possible, I hide them when I’m in school, so nobody knows about it. I knew my father saw these cuts, but he didn’t bother to ask. Why? And here’s Harry, a complete stranger to me, asking me something no one has ever asked me.

“Good.” He smiles, his dimples showing again.

No. Not that smile please.

“I didn’t have any medicine so I’d figured we’d just dance to take a little bit of the pain away. I’m glad it worked.” He said. He almost sounded concerned, this was new to me.

“I’m used to this.” I smiled, showing him that I was strong enough.

Bree! What are you doing? Get out of there, now!

I gasped as I heard my dad’s voice in my head.

“What time is it?” I asked, sounding urgent.

12. Why?” Harry cocks his brow.

“Um. I need to go.” I quickly pushed through the dancing crowd.

“Hey, hey, wait.” Harry’s voice was heard behind me, but I didn’t look back. He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him. I gasped.

“Hey.” He whispered, his face just inches apart from mine. I felt my cheeks heat up.

“Wha--” I squirmed as he wrapped his arms around my waist. He was grinding himself into me? What in the world? No. Wait. I felt his hand slip inside my back pocket. I winced.

“See you .” He whispered. And he let go.

Before I knew it, I was already pushed through the exit. Okay, what did he just do? I was completely clueless. But the more important thing was, I needed to get home before dad wakes up.

As soon as I reached home, I tiptoed myself to my room. I checked dad’s room just to make sure. Fortunately, he was still asleep. Thank goodness.

I jumped into my bed and squealed. I figured I still haven't gotten over with the events that had happened.

I actually had a taste of freedom, for the first time in my whole life. Everything at the club was foreign to me but I felt exhilarated. I realized that I've already missed out on a lot of stuff. I don't regret doing this at all. Although I was really tired as I was not used to staying up this, having a taste of vodka, dancing, and not to mention, meeting a complete stranger of the opposite sex. I squealed as I remembered. It was a night of firsts for me.

Just before I was about to drift off to sleep, I realized my sweats had a different scent. A familiar scent.

Holy Moses.

It was Harry's cologne. His scent is on me.

"Shit. Shit. Shit." I panicked and immediately took my sweats off. I needed to get his scent off before dad will find out what I've been doing.
