All I Want For Christmas Is You

HARRY'S POV:

I nodded to Cat, and I knew what I was going to do. I was going to make it up to her.

I got into my car and drove to the local park. I pulled up in the empty parking spot before pulling my phone out of my pocket and searching up some things on Google... things like "journalism careers in London, and journalism careers"

I dialed up a number I found.

ME: "Hello is this Tiger Beat Magazine?"
LADY: "Yes sir, may I help you,"
ME: "Yes, I know a great journalist and I was wondering if you are hiring. She is great in fact she has done many international interviews with big celebrities like the boys of One Direction,"
LADY: *pauses* "I'm sorry sir but we are in no need of journalists, in fact our hands are full with them, but thanks for calling,"

I hung up. "Shit," I muttered as I leaned my head on my arm, which was placed relaxed on the steering wheel. I really wanted to make it up to her, and I knew she wanted to be a journalist, but no one seems to be needing journalists. This is not good.

I got out of the car and paced around, gazing up at the shade trees above me. I heard a little squeal and saw a girl no older than two swinging on the swing with her mum pushing her slightly. It was adorable.

I decided to take a quick walk so I strolled past the river, since the park was along a river and I found myself at the edge of the park borders, and I saw a little blue rickety shack on the corner. The sign said "The Snow Shack". That means they sell snow. Well... snow cones.

I walked slowly up to the window and ordered a wedding cake flavored snowcone. "That'll be two dollars even," the about forty year old lady said and I smiled as I pulled out the dollars and placed them on the wooden counter. "Thank you," I said as she smiled back. I heard her close the window to the shack behind me and I took a sip of the sugary ice. It tasted just like wedding cake. Fascinating.

Just then a car drove up to the shack. A familiar face was driving.

"HARRY!" Karla yelled as she ran up and hugged me, careful not to spill my snow cone. "Karla," I repeated back but with less enthusiasm. "So... why are you here?" she asked, knowing I should be doing something big and grand and not walking by a snow cone stand eating a two dollar snack in the Texas summer sun. I shrugged as I took a bite of the snow again with the spoon. "Where's Cat, I was sure that she would have followed you here," "No.. she was still working, but I came here alone. I know. I'm a loner," I said, expecting to at least get a slight chuckle from Karla. She didn't laugh at first. "You are not a loner Harry. In fact you are the complete opposite!" she finished. I shrugged again, wiping a ribbon of sweat off of the top of my forehead. "Cat loves you. I know she said you have to prove it but I think you being you can prove anything to her. Trust me. I'm her best friend I should know," she said, placing her palm on my shoulder. I shrugged again. "Stop shrugging and go make it up to her, her shift ends in fifteen minutes! Hurry up go!" she said and I smiled as I walked back to the park and left Karla at the shack. Maybe Karla was right. Maybe I should just be me, and not surprise her with anything. She is pretty down to earth and all. It's worth the shot.
