All I Want For Christmas Is You

Chapter 65

THE NEXT DAY

I had stayed at Harry's overnight, but Anne said we needed to sleep in the living room with Val. Harry wasn't thrilled about it, but I laughed.

In the morning, I woke up on the carpeted ground next to the now burned out fire in the fireplace. Harry was lying next to me, his arm was twisted around my back, and I couldn't move. He still wasn't awake yet, nor was Val. "Harry," I whispered, rubbing his forearm ever so gently. He didn't budge. He was a very heavy sleeper. I whispered his name again, but this time I ran my fingers through the side of his head of chocolate curls. He groaned and slowly flickered open his eyes. "Hey babe," he croaked, with half a smile on his face. I copied his expression and he pulled me back down to him, causing me to lie next to him. And I mean, like right next to him. "Why did you wake me up?" he whispered in my ear. I giggled. "Because I didn't want to be the only one awake," I said, I felt hi chuckle under his breath. "Well then, let's both join the bandwagon and go back to sleep," he said, pulling my closer to him as if I were his little rag doll. I snuggled into his torso and he set his head on mine since he was so much taller than me.

WHEN WE WOKE UP HOURS LATER

"WAKE UP CAT AND HARRY!" Val yelled above us as we squinted at the bright light flooding in through the now open curtains. It was perfectly sunny outside, what a change from yesterday. "I'm up," Harry said as he stood up, only in his black boxers. That is what he slept in last night.

"Cat wake up!" Val demanded, pulling on my arm that was lying above my head, above the pillow. I groaned and sat up unwillingly, pushing the extra hairs out of my face, and down behind my ears. Harry turned and looked at me. "Someone's glad they got some extra sleep eh?" he giggled and I stuck out my tongue at him.

"Good thing you two are up, I already cooked breakfast," Gemma said, tossing both of us a paper plate from the counter. Harry caught his, but mine flew way past me, and landed on the couch. Gemma looked over at me and smiled. "Need a new one?" she asked as she came up to me and handed me a new, fresh one. I nodded and thanked her.

"What's for breakfast Gemma?" Val asked as she sat on one of the chairs at the dining table. Gemma smiled. "Sausage, grilled tomatoes, beans and toast," she smiled as she set a mug in front of Harry and I who sat down next to each other. "You went all out didn't you?" Harry teased her, giving her a playful dirty glare. Gemma just smiled and went along with it. "Well of course, we do have your future wife visiting us," she said, glancing at me. I felt my face turn hot, and I saw Harry's face was showing a pinkish glow as well. Gemma didn't look at us after her remark, but Val busted out laughing. I glared at her, and she got quiet when she saw I was about to go off on her, but Gemma looked and made it worse. "Oh look both of you are blushing!" she said with a giggle as she set two full plates down in front of Harry and I. "Gem can I have an orange, the small ones by the stove?" he asked innocently. Gemma continued to laugh as she tossed him an orange and he began to peel it. "I remember when I ate an orange at the VMAs this year," he said as he picked a piece of the orange off of the peel and stuck it in his mouth. I smiled, remembering when Karla called them "pocket oranges". "Pocket oranges," I said with a giggle and Harry turned his head slowly to me, still chewing on his orange. "So that's what they called them," he laughed as he swallowed the orange piece and continued.

"Would you like lemon tea or Earl Grey?" Gemma asked as she stirred up some hot tea behind the counter. "Whatever you are having," I said with a smile. She smiled back and started heating up the tea, whatever flavor it was.

"So when are you going home?" Harry asked, almost putting a downer on our morning conversations. "Whenever Aunt Mae arrives here. She apparently took the next flight after our call remember?" I told him, taking a bite of my sausage. Harry fiddled with his orange peel with a frown. "I don't want you to go," he said, looking up at me, looking as if he was about to cry. I let out a deep breath. "Babe I don't want to go either," I said, touching his shoulder. "Neither do I!" Val chimed in, ruining Harry and my love moment. I glared at her and she continued to eat in silence. "Maybe we can convince your Aunt to let you stay a while," Gemma suggested as she came over to me with a pot of tea in her hand. She poured a bit into my mug, and a bit into Harry's. "I chose lemon this time," she smiled and put the pot back onto the stove. "But seriously, I think that if we had a sit-down conversation with your Aunt she could understand," Gemma suggested again, walking and sitting down on the other side of me. I shook my head. "My Aunt isn't that thoughtful," I said sadly, as I pushed the tomatoes to the other side of the plate. "We could make her more thoughtful," Gemma suggested, but backed out of it. "Well, if she ever did leave to come get you, I will make sure that she will think about the situation before stealing you away," she ended, setting her hand on my forearm. I shrugged and Gemma sighed. "I really don't want you to go. Not just because I think you are amazing, but because you make my little brother happy. And I really haven't seen him happy like this since before the X-Factor. I'm glad that SOME girl on the planet FINALLY stole his little heart the right way and not like... you know... the girl who shall not be named," Gemma laughed, nonchalantly mentioning Taylor Swift. Harry smiled and set his arm around my shoulders as he took a bite of his baked beans. "She's right you know," he said rubbing his palm on my opposite shoulder.

"Where's Anne?" I asked as soon as that conversation was over. "I think she went on an errand to the store," Gemma guessed. I agreed and finished my plate, except for the tomatoes. I hate tomatoes. I looked over at Harry's plate and he did the same thing as me. He looked up at me, knowing I noticed his plate. "Yeah... I wasn't in the mood for tomatoes," he giggled and Gemma playfully smacked the back of his head lightly, hearing him say that to me. "You two are exactly alike I swear," Gemma said, taking both our plates, noticing the tomatoes. Val giggled from the other side of the table at us, as she took a bite of a tomato. I rolled my eyes and Harry leaned closer to me. "What type of music do you like?" he asked, totally off subject. "Well, I like the weird bands that no one else listens to, like The 1975, Bombay Bicycle Club, Augustana, and my personal favorite, Arctic Monkeys," Harry looked wide-eyed at me. "Arctic Monkeys is one of my personal favorites too! I never thought a girl like you would share such a great taste of music with me!" he laughed and I saw Gemma out of my peripheral vision roll her eyes with a smile.

We continued to talk about our favorites, discovering that there were only a few things that we disagreed on, like our favorite colors. But that is very irrelevant.

LATER

I heard my phone ring from the other side of the room and I skipped over to go answer it. I saw who was calling, it was Karla. Awesome! I really wanted to talk to her.

Karla: "Cat are you there?"
Me: "Yeah what's up?"
Karla: "I just met Niall's parents and family! They were amazing people! And I just called to tell you that I miss you and Harry already!"
Me: "Aw you are so sweet,"
Karla: "Aw shucks you are like the sweetest thing ever. Anyways, but I just wanted to tell you that your Aunt Mae just called me saying she didn't think you were gonna answer her phone,"
Me: "What?"
Karla: "She is apparently at the airport, ... in Manchester. She heard about how you are with Harry from Katie,"
Me: "Crap,"
Karla: "Yeah, but she is gonna see you in like a little over half an hour,"
Me: "Hooray..."
Karla: "Well I wish you luck,"
Me: "Thanks I'll need it,"
Karla: "Love ya friend,"
Me: "Love ya too. I guess I'll see you when the break is over,"
Karla: "I guess so,"
Me: *deeply sighs* "Eh..yeah,"
Karla: "Bye,"
Me: "...Bye,"

I hung up the phone gently as I set it onto the end table. I saw Harry look at me from the other side of the room. "Who was that?" he asked curiously. I sighed with a half smile. "Karla, she told me that Aunt Mae just landed in Manchester," Harry then stared angrily at me. "Are you kidding me?" he asked, coming closer. "I CAN'T let you leave!" he kept saying, grabbing onto my forearms and shaking me. "You think I want to?" I yelled ripping his arms off of me. He sighed and stepped back. "I'm sorry, I just... You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I am afraid that if you leave, I won't ever get to see you again," he looked down in a frown. "So you've told me," I said, also copying his expression. He sighed and glanced quickly around the room, ending at me. I reached for his hand and I grasped it. Weaving my small fingers through his. He half-smiled and looked down at our hands entwined. He looked back up at me and kissed my cheek. "I love you. I know it's very weird for me to say that, but I really do, and I do not want to hide my feelings to someone I REALLY care about," he smiled as he spoke. I smiled as well.
