All I Want For Christmas Is You

Chapter 58

He let go of the kiss and looked at me. "We are alright now... Only if..." he started. "You promise you won't break my heart again like that," he said and I half smiled. "Of course I promise. That is probably my biggest regret," I answered as he smiled. "Wait..." I inturrupted his happiness and his smile dissappeared. "You have to promise not to break my heart either," I suggested and his smile rose back again on his face and he giggled. "I promise. I will never cause you to cry again either. Let's just think of this as a small fight. Nothing happened... now then... How about I take you around town before dinner and the relatives come?" he suggested and I shrugged. "I guess," I said, hesitantly. Harry laughed. "Let me go tell mum," he said before going inside the house. He didn't go completely all the way in, so I heard his conversation. "Mum, I'm taking Cat around town," he said, "Oh my goodness! Is everything good now? Please tell me it is!" Anne said as she hastened to Harry at the door. She looked around Harry and saw me standing in the cold. I smiled and nodded. Anne's smile grew huge as she jumped in place. "I'm so proud baby. I knew you were the grown man. I knew you wouldn't let her go," Anne said kissing Harry on the cheek. "Ye.. ea mum okay. We will be back before the rest of the family comes," "Alright... no problem... We'll be here. Gemma and I will entertain Karla and Valerie. You two have fun, but be sure to be back soon," Anne said before waving me and Harry off and closing the door behind him.

Harry turned to me, and he smiled that adorable smile of his. It wasn't he smile he smiled on stage, it wasn't the smile in pictures, it was the smile of Harry... Harry from Holmes Chapel Harry.

He giggled as he ran to me, picking me up in a hug and spinning me around. "I'm so sorry, I hurt you," I apologized again. Harry sighed and rolled his eyes. "No need to apologize again. We all have things that we do that we don't mean sometimes, and it's fine," he said as he kissed my cheek. "Now, I'm going to borrow mum's car so people won't follow my car.. Because apparently the fandom knows my car, and I really do not want the attention. I just want to spend time with you," he smiled and I nodded. "That's fine with me," I laughed and he led me to the side of the house.

I saw a grayish Audi R8 parked behind a normal looking black car. I guessed that was his car. He was right... He would stand out in a tiny village like Holmes Chapel... even if everyone knew him...

He opened the passenger side door for me and I hopped in and buckled my seatbelt. He shut the door with ease and got into his seat next to me. He put the key in the engine and turned it to make the engine roar. He and I both set our heaters on, on full blast. I set my hands in front of the vents like it was a campfire, warming my hands. "Well, where are we going?" I asked him, looking over my shoulder at him. He was warming his hands the same way as I was. "Holmes Chapel," he said sassily. I giggled. He would be the one to surprise me.

We pulled out of the driveway and he drove down the main drag of the town, showing me the simple sights of the little town. I loved it, it reminded me of my town back home in Texas. But just thinking about my past home, made me almost choke up. And as I looked at Harry, I knew that life was gone... I guess it's for the better. "Do you like bread?" he asked, glancing over his left shoulder, looking at me as he was driving. I shrugged. "Who doesn't?" I giggled and he laughed. "Good," he said, and he said nothing else about it. Hmm....

He pulled up and parked in front of a small store that looked like a house. The sign said "Mandeville's Bakery" I smiled. No wonder he asked about me liking bread... that weirdo.

He helped me out of the car and walked me inside, letting me go in first, holding the door for me like a gentleman. "Harry!" I heard an old woman say. "Barbara!" Harry said as he ran to hug her. She was wearing a maroon apron with vertical white stripes cascading down the front of it. They hugged as I looked around and I saw several old knick knacks set in various places in the store. It was cute.

"Oh who is this Harry?" the lady, I suspected her name was Barbara due to Harry's outburst, asked Harry, whispering in his ear. "That is Cat.. Catherine," Harry said, presenting me like I was a prize. I felt myself blush and I swiped my bangs out of my eyes. "Hi," I said weakly. Barbara came up to me. "And she isn't a celebrity?" Barbara asked, turning to Harry as she touched my shoulder. I shook my head. "Actually she is just your average American teenager," Harry giggled and I gave him a dirty look as Barbara nodded. "Well... She is more than average to me," he said giggling. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "What are you doing so far from home?" Barbara asked me. I hesitated, but I shrugged. "Vacation," I laughed and Harry looked at me, knowing I wasn't going to say anything. And he didn't particularly want me to say anything either. Barbara clapped her hands together. "Well, I have to get back to work," she said as she noted a couple that walked into the doors, causing a little bell to ring.

Harry waved her off and then jolted to me. "This place," he started... "This place was my job... You know when I was on the X-Factor," he giggled as he looked around the store. He sighed in the thought of lost memories and looked back at me. "That's really cool," I said, knowing my comeback was lame. I then looked by the door and it had a sign. It had a picture of Harry and the boys eating pastry-like things. There was text underneath it. It read:

"Try our brunch pastries!"

That was cute. I looked closer at the picture and noted Harry's afro curls and Liam's old surfer dude hair. I giggled and I felt Harry come up behind me, and examined the picture as well. "Barbara!" he yelled and Barbara looked up from her cash register. "Barbara I didn't think you put this picture up! This was so long ago!" he cried as he turned to face her. Barbara gave a mischievous smile. "We loved that picture Harry! You should too!" she answered as she finished her business putting two rows of bread in a brown paper bag for the couple of customers.

"Well, maybe I should get going," Harry said as he led me back outside. "Bye Barbara!" he called out. Barbara smiled and waved him off. "Come back soon!" she called out and Harry smiled, indicating he would. "Merry Christmas to the both of you as well!" Barbara finally called out before Harry shut the door. "That was fun," I said as I bounced in place. Harry smiled and pulled me into a hug in front of his mum's car. "I'm glad,"

Then I felt my pocket vibrate. I pulled it out of my pocket and read the caller ID. It said Aunt Mae and Uncle Tyler... No way... I can't answer this... I'll call them back later I guess.

"Who is calling?" Harry asked, glancing at my phone. "No one," I said, knowing he would make me pick it up if it was a family member. "Well, then. Let's go to the next place," Harry smiled as we got into the car and drove off.

We passed through a few neighborhoods before my phone vibrated again. This time it said Katie, my cousin who was in the car accident. Suddenly, I knew something was up. "Can I take this?" I asked Harry, who was just driving. He nodded and turned the radio down. I slid my finger across the screen hesitantly and held it up to my ear. "Hello?" "Hi Cat! We thought you were dead! Oh my goodness I have to tell everyone you are fine! Where are you staying at? We really wanted you over for Christmas! If you are at your house we can some pick you up. Please tell m--" "Listen Katie, I can't. I rather busy today.. And I think where I am at is too far to drive to," I answered and I heard Harry laugh at my last statement. I heard Katie asking her mom (Aunt Mae) whether anywhere was too far to drive to to pick me up... Aunt Mae said no where is too far. "Mom said that we can pick you up no matter where you are!" Katie exclaimed into the phone, causing me to hold the phone back from my ear a bit. "Well, I doubt you can pick me up," I continued.. I didn't want to blatantly tell her I'm still in the UK though. That was when Harry pulled over to the side of the road. He looked at me and took the phone from me. "Hello Katie. My name is Harry and she will be with family tonight, and I suggest that you not call again today,"
