Temporary Goodbyes

“Maddy?” I heard the receptionist beckon through the receiver in the phone while I was at work.

“Yes?”

“There is another package for you out front.” She informed me.

“More?” I asked in disbelief. “I’ll be right up.” Since tomorrow is Saturday, Niall is sending me everything for my birthday a day early at work. He has already sent me 2 boquets of flowers, chocolates, cookies, balloons, and much more. My office was starting to look like a gift shop. I walked up to the front wondering what he could have sent this time. All of this has been too much, I appreciate all he has given me, but I really just want to hear him say that he loves me. When I got up front there was a delivery man waiting for me.

“Are you Madison?” He asked

“Yes I am.” I smiled at him.

“I have this for you.” He handed me an envelope, smiled, and walked outside. I looked at it, it had my name written on the front and I could tell it was Niall’s handwriting. I opened it to see what was waiting inside. There was merely a piece of paper. I sighed, thankful that he hasn’t spend more money on me.

Well, tomorrow is your birthday! You will finally be 19! I just wanted to say happy birthday to the most amazing and beautiful girlfriend ever. I love you so much and I miss you like crazy. I think the lads are annoyed with how much I talk about you.. I just can’t help it! Well happy birthday princess. I hope it will be amazing. I love you.

When I finished reading the note, I couldn’t help but smile and blush. The ending also confused me. When I came up, there wasn’t anything I noticed behind me. I turned around and was in complete shock with what I saw.

“Niall!?” I asked disbelieving that he was actually standing there in front of me. I eagerly jumped in his arms letting his scent take over. I heard him chuckle a little.

“Did you really think that I wasn’t going to be here with you on your birthday?” He asked tightly holding me back.

“What are you doing here? I thought you guys had shows!” I said not letting go.

“We don’t have another show for a couple of days. I pulled some strings, convinced a few people, and flew down here so I could spend your birthday with you.” He explained.

“Have I ever told you that you are the best boyfriend ever?” I asked leaning back so I could look at him.

“Have I ever told you that you are the best girlfriend ever?” He asked quickly kissing me.

“So I already talked to your boss. I called him yesterday and worked the whole thing out. Let’s go get your stuff, you have until Tuesday off.” He said grabbing my hand and leading me back to my office.

“Wow, someone must love you.” Niall said turning and winking at me when he saw all the things in my office.

“Yeah, this one guy kind of has a thing for me. He’s pretty cool, I think you would like him.” I said

“Well anyone who loves you this much has to be cool.” He said kissing me again. We gathered all of my things, which took a couple of trips, and headed off.

“So what are we going to do?” I asked as we started to drive.

“Well I am going to take you home, we are going to get you packed, and then we are going to go and spend the weekend in New York. I want to take you there to enjoy it before you meet us there for our concert. When we are there for tour, we don't have as much time to explore.” I turned to him shocked when he said that.

“New York!? Are you kidding me!?” I said getting really happy.

“Yup, I got us a hotel and everything. I know you have never been there, and I thought it would be fun to go. Happy birthday.”

“Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it. Thank you!”

“That’s not all though, I still have many more things to give you for your birthday”

“Niall, you have already given me so much! Really, you don’t have to give me any more-“

“I want to.” He said cutting me off. “Oh, and I love you.” He said turning to me and quickly kissing me again.

“That’s the best present.” I admitted to him. It’s not even officially my birthday yet, and I still have had the best birthday I could ever ask for. Well, New York here we come!

Okay, to make up for taking FOREVER to update, I updated again today! (I even wrote this while I am at work, so I got paid to write this haha don't tell anyone!
