Why is HE Here?
Arabella’s POV
∞1 month later∞
Beep… Beep… Beep…
I open my eyes. Bright lights and white walls surround me. Was I asleep? I don’t remember going to bed last night, or anything really at that moment. Where the heck am I? My head was pounding. Why did it hurt so badly? I see a machine next to me that is making that annoying beeping noise. Am I in a hospital?
I look down at myself. My body is covered in bruises and scars. What the fuck happened?!?! I feel my right hand sweating and I look down to see someone else’s hand covering it. My eyes trace from the hand up the person’s arm to see their face.
Harry? I pulled my hand from him causing him to wake up. I need to figure out my situation. One, why am I in a hospital? Two, why the fuck is the guy who broke my heart here too?
Harry’s POV
I feel a breeze on my now empty hand. She had moved hers away from mine. Bella! She’s awake!
“Bella!”
“Why am I in a hospital? Why are you here? What happened to me?” she asked. Why am I here? I am her boyfriend…
“Um…
“Ms. Lyons, glad to see you’re awake. I’m Doctor Thorn,” the doc interrupted. “I’m going to have to ask you to leave Mr. Styles.” I got up and left the room not breaking contact with her until I closed the door. Does she not remember?
Arabella’s POV
Harry left the room. Thank god! It was so awkward for me.
“Can I ask you a few questions?” the doc asked. I nodded my head slightly but it pained me.
“What is the year?”
“2010,” I answered. Why is he asking me this?
“What is your full name?”
“Arabella Faith Lyons.”
“Who was that guy that just left and how does he know you?”
“His name is Harry, and he broke up with me last year because he thought our love wouldn’t last over seas. He broke my heart.”
“Who are people you can trust?”
“My brother, Daniel, and my two best friends – Carly and Luke.”
“Thank you, Ms. Lyons,” he got up to leave.
“Wait!” he stopped. “Why am I here?”
He sighed, “Time will tell, my dear.” Then, he left the room, leaving me clueless.
A few minutes passed, and the door clicked open.
“Danny! Carly! Luke!” I yelled as they entered.
“How is my favorite little sister?” Danny asked.
“I’m your only little sister!” I laughed. “I feel lost, pained, confused; why am I here? And why did the doctor ask me the year? And why in the world is Harry here?”
Harry’s POV
The doctor came out to where all of us were waiting.
“Is she okay?” Liam asks. He turns to all of us.
“Well with the brain damage she had, she suffered slight memory loss.”
“How slight?” El asks.
“In her mind, it’s still 2010. She doesn’t remember anything after that. Not this year, not even how she got here.” He turned to me. “I’m sorry, sir, but she doesn’t remember that you are her boyfriend. She thinks you’re just the guy that broke her heart last year. No worry’s though, she will recover her memory slowly.”
So it is true. She doesn’t remember me as the Harry who protected her and did the best I could to save her. She doesn’t even know what happened.
“Can I see her?” I ask.
“I recommend you start with people she knows from that year so she isn’t confused.”
“Sorry, Harry,” Daniel tells me. Then, he, Carly, and Luke walk into Bell’s room. I can’t believe that to her: I am still a heartbreaker.
