Black Lace

Chapter 10

The streets were bustling with masses heading to their intended designation, oblivious to the beauty that surrounded them. Spring had arrived in London too soon, it seemed, catching everyone unaware. Despite the lack of heed from the human race, it had breezed in with a picturesque allure within the city.

London never looked so beautiful; brimming with colour and life. Even the usual moody heavens hovering over London seemed to be alive this afternoon. How hadn't she noticed this refinement when she had walked to the bridal shop? Was it the company that had changed her perspective, Alana wondered.

She turned her head an inch to watch the beautiful man by her side command away on his phone. Tuning out his forbiddingly sexy voice, she concentrated on the mutual dislike they had decided upon at the shop.

Louis had greeted Mrs. Boyce as her uncle and had excused Alana away, saying that they had to leave due to a family commitment. He had even faked an American accent for her benefit and had made his security hail a cab and pay for it so that it could take the older lady back to her house. Yet, this entire time, he had not bothered to ask if Alana had wanted to go with him. The papers she had signed had sealed her fate and she had nowhere to turn to now, it seemed.

As for the incident in the bridal shop, he had only mumbled out an 'I didn't know' when they had gotten into the limousine. Alana had just shrugged it off and had turned away, pretending that it hadn't hurt her. If she had expected him to further explain himself, she would've been highly disappointed because he had begun making phone calls as soon as she had turned away.

"Get her in my house! Now!" He barked in his phone and hung up before the person on the other end could respond.

Get whom, Alana wondered. Was he sleeping around with other women while he was with her? Yet, he had issued a fidelity clause in her contract. This man was unbelievable! Her temper rose a notch, making her grit her together in annoyance.

"Where are we going?" Alana queried calmly, folding her arms.

Louis looked up and saw her stiff jaw, frowning as he answered, "To my house."

"Your house? We're going to L.A?" Alana's anger was washed away by her confusion. Why in the world would he take her to see his other shack? Was he the type who thought that it was okay to sleep with both women if he made both of them aware of the situation? Bile rose up Alana's throat and she closed her mouth to contain herself from throwing up.

"No! My house is in London." Louis answered, looking away and beginning to type out a text.

"I thought you sold that off?"

"I bought a new one. The press doesn't know about it so you won't find it in Google either. You shouldn't rely on the internet when you stalk people, babe. The media tend to mislead."

Alana turned red and tried to cover up her embarrassment by explaining, "I wasn't stalking you! I was just....d- doing some research!"

Alana saw his lips twitch before he sobered up and asked, "And? Did you find those nudes?"

Alana's jaw fell open, as she crossed her arms and retorted, "I was n- not looking for your n- nudes! God, you're so conceited!"

"Are you sure?" Louis mocked, hiding a smirk as he looked her directly in the eye. "Cause I think you would've quite enjoyed them, love!"

Alana felt her cheeks burn at the reminder of his naked body against her own. Her head was spinning just from the thought of it. She knew he was teasing her so she decided to put up a brave front.

"Why would I need to look up your nudes? I can see the real thing anytime!" Alana raised an eyebrow in challenge and Louis went completely still.

"Why would you indeed?" He replied, hardening at the thought of Alana looking him up. Alana mentally high-fived herself for winning this part of the banter.

"So," She decided to change the topic when she got uncomfortable by Louis' stare. "What's the plan when we reach your place?"

"Apart from the obvious?" Louis smirked, making Alana gulp.

"You'll be getting a simple makeover!" Louis announced, turning back to his long neglected phone.

"A what?" Alana asked, sure her ears had deceived her.

"A simple makeover. Is there a problem?" Louis queried, raising an eyebrow. Surely she hadn't expected something more, had she?

"Are you kidding me? Let me out, now!" Alana couldn't believe the audacity of the man! How much more insults would she have to take?

"What's wrong with getting a makeover? I thought women loved those!" He frowned, wondering how any woman could say no to a makeover.

"I don't know what kind of women you hung around with, Louis, but I'm surely not one of them! Now, please ask your driver to stop the car so that I can get out."

Louis sighed, rolling his eyes at how difficult it was to understand women. Alana felt her blood boil when she noticed his nonchalant behaviour. She turned to her side of the door and began pulling at the handle to open it.

"What do you think you're doing, babe?" Louis asked, pinching the bridge of his nose as an ache began building in his temples.

"Trying to get out of this god forsaken car! And trying to get away from you!" Alana announced, as she continued her onslaught on the handle.

"It's locked!" Louis informed, as though she was a two years old.

"You think?" Alana retorted, mocking him. "Where the hell is the freaking intercom?"

Alana searched around for the button to ask the driver to unlock the doors and Louis made good use of the opportunity by doing what he had wanted to do since he saw her in that dress.

Louis grabbed her head and pulled her into a rough kiss, taking Alana by surprise. He scooped Alana off the seat, not breaking the kiss, making her squeal against his mouth. As he laid her down on his lap in a straddling position, she tried to fight him off, only to have him tighten his grip around her waist and pull her closer.

Alana stopped struggling as his kiss slowly began intoxicating her brain. She wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed him back. She had missed this. Had missed all of him. The past few days had been hell for her and although he had behaved like a jerk from the moment he had stepped into the shop, Alana felt safe with him by her side.

All the pent up frustration and stress from the week before dissolved into that kiss. Each battled to take the lead, kissing and nipping to gain control. Alana grabbed Louis' hair and pulled him even closer, touching every part of his torso with her other hand. It made all the blood in Louis' body head south.

He pulled away from the kiss and began leaving wet kisses down her neck. Alana gasped and clung onto his head as he drove her further into a passionate trance. His hands had dived under her t-shirt to unhook the clasp of her bra and within a few seconds he had lifted her shirt up to expose her naked breasts.

He lifted his head up to look at her breasts while his thumb grazed the nubs that stood erect from all the attention it was getting. Alana watched his eyes turn darker as he stared at them with hunger in his eyes.

"You're beautiful." Louis whispered, gulping as he traced her torso with his thumbs.

"Yet, you want me to get a makeover." Alana stated, the hurt evident in her voice.

Louis looked up then, his eyes filled with uncharted lust. He bit down on his lips as he pulled her to him, making the tips of her breasts brush against his clothed chest.

"It's because you're beautiful that I want to adorn you with all the best things out there. Calling it a 'makeover' can be misleading. Think of it more of a shopping spree. Okay?"

Louis saw the uncertainty in her eyes and closed the gap between their lips to keep her from thinking. He played with her soft lips, biting and pulling at it as he laid her down on the seat. His lips left her mouth, only to replace it with one of her erect nipples.

"Louis!" Alana gasped, when he started suckling on the small nub, occasionally lapping at it to trigger a reaction.

"I love it when you moan out my name." Louis whispered against her breasts, causing his hot breath to fan against her already wet skin. "I can't wait to hear you scream out my name once I'm inside you!"

"Oh!" Alana moaned, as Louis began giving his attention to her other breast.

Their actions were disrupted by the limo coming to a stop abruptly. Louis raised his head, looked at the heavens and gritted his teeth in frustration knowing that they would have to halt for the time being. He looked at Alana's confused and lust-drunken look and gave her a quick peck.

"Tonight! I promise! But before that, I want you to meet someone."

He hooked her bra, fixed her clothes and pulled her up before opening the door. His security held the door open for him as he got out of the car with Alana in tow. Alana was slightly blinded by the bright light outside after having stayed in the darker interior of the tinted limo.

As she adjusted her eyes to the brightness, they fell on the biggest mansion she had ever seen. The entire area was surrounded by an eight feet high stone wall with only an iron gate breaking the sequence. Rose bushes encompassed the beautiful terracotta walls of the mansion. The two floors could be distinguished by the bay windows and garden windows that dotted here and there. And just beside the stone driveway was a huge willow tree shading a small pond.

To say it was stunning would be an understatement. Alana couldn't help but whisper, "You call this a house?"

Louis felt himself stiffen when he noticed how mesmerized and taken she was by the mansion. He didn't need her eyeing up his assets for a possible profit in the future. He had to be careful around this woman, he realized.

"Why? Not up to your taste?" He mocked, knowing full well she had been blown away by its beauty.

"No, that's not what I meant!" Alana replied exasperatedly. "It's gorgeous. Although, you should've mentioned that it's a mansion."

"Why? Would've planned things out better then?"

Alana was stunned by the unimpressed look he was giving her as he stood rigidly against the door of the limo. Had he been the same man who had kissed her so passionately just a few minutes ago?

"Louis, what are you talki-

"Mr. Tomlinson!" A friendly female voice interrupted Alana, making both of them turn their heads towards the house.

"Caroline!" Louis greeted, a warm smile appearing on his face as he walked towards the middle-aged lady and gave her a tight hug. Alana felt a tinge of jealousy pass through her as she watched the affectionate exchange between the two of them. Why couldn't he smile at her like that? What had she done to deserve his broody attitude?

They were so engaged in speaking to each other that Louis had completely forgotten about her presence there. What did she do now? Stand there or speak up to draw their attention? She decided to remain standing there silently and looking at her surroundings instead. Who knew when Louis would bring her back here again? She might as well store this magnificent scene in her memory for life.

"Alana," Louis began making Alana turn back to look at them. "I'd like you to meet Mrs. Ross. Caroline, this is Alana Morgan!"

Alana smiled and offered her hand to be shook but was taken aback when the older woman's demeanor changed completely. Her warm smile was replaced by a cold, haughty expression making Alana freeze halfway. The lady nodded her head and looked away, making Alana drop her hand and look away in embarrassment. However, Louis seemed completely oblivious to this exchange as he started speaking to Mrs. Ross again.

"So, I'm counting on you to take care of everything!" He said to Mrs. Ross, before turning to address Alana.

"Mrs. Ross will show you to the room where the stylist is waiting."

"Wait! Aren't you coming?" Alana asked, panic overwhelming her when she saw him walking towards the limo.

"No! I have some work to take care of. I'll see you at dinner. We'll go out."

Alana's eyes widened and she started chewing on her bottom lip when she realized he wanted to leave her for the entire day at a place she had never been to and in the company of Mrs. High-and-Mighty.

She grabbed his arm before he could turn away as a last resort to which he stiffened. He turned back with an irritated look and stared pointedly at her hand on his arm. Alana felt as though she had been burnt and withdrew her hand immediately. Louis came closer to her and whispered so that only she could hear it, "Clause number 32. I do not like PDAs of any sort. You seem to have forgotten all the conditions, love. I'll send the papers back to you so that you can have them memorized."

His voice was dripping with irritation and Alana felt a jolt of pain pass through her chest. She moved away from him and nodded her head as her throat clogged up. She spun and started walking towards the house, without giving Louis another glance
