Chapter 25
Ashley's POV
I wake up to the sound of slight sniffling coming from Katie as she was cuddled up into me.
I felt so bad that Katie's birthday ended with her in tears.
Last night Katie ran off to her room after Louis managed to talk to her again. After Katie and Louis had talked out on the balcony she pretty much ignored him the whole night and when they finally talked again she got upset and ran off.
I managed to push through people and convince Louis to stay away from her for the rest of the night, but when I walked into her room she was bawling her eyes out on her bed. It's so heart breaking to see your best friend like that.
Liam let the rest of the boys stay the night as well as Perrie and Elea-whore, yup that's right that bitch deserves a hurtful name.
Katie was wide awake and now so am I but I think we both know that as soon as one of us talks, people will be knocking on the door asking twenty questions at once to see if Katie is okay since she wouldn't talk to anyone besides me. Not even Liam and they've been getting so close lately.
"I'm never going to be his first choice am I?" Katie asked in a very hushed tone.
Poor girl is so love sick over Louis that she doesn't even see that Niall is standing right in front of her ready to pick up the pieces of her heart and stick them back together. I just hope she starts to see it before it's to late.
"Katie he is not worth this pain, you have never been this upset over a boy so don't start now." I said while smoothing down her hair as she nuzzled her head into me.
As if on cue there was a knock on the door signalling that someone knew we were awake. I checked the time on the clock next to the bed, it's freaking ten in the morning! Katie is beyond hangover and I am slightly hangover so why is someone knocking one the bedroom door!
I wriggled out of Katie's grasp which took a lot since she didn't want me to answer the door.
Once I had opened the door I saw a sad looking Niall almost like he looked like that because of Katie's pain, I feel bad that Katie and Niall never got a chance to talk about their feelings for each other before Louis came and crushed her on the inside.
Once Niall had seen what Katie looked like this morning, he instantly had this look on his face that made it easy to tell that he knew Louis caused her pain and that he is officially in the friendzone. Sad moment when someone realises they're in the friendzone. Poor dude.
Once Katie finally had the courage to turn around and see who was at the door she instantly jumped off the bed and ran into Niall's arms. His expression changed from the friendzoned look to a happy one within seconds.
"Katie? Are you okay kiddo?" Niall asked her in a very small voice.
I found it really cute that nearly all the boys called her kiddo, I'm not sure why but it was just cute.
Katie shook her head no and buried her head further into Nialls' chest. Niall moved one of his arms under Katie's knees then picked her up with ease.
Niall softly placed Katie onto her bed then laid down next to her. She instantly cuddled into him and began to sniffle.
"I think I'm going to go get Katie some pain killers, do you think you can stay with her?" I asked Niall. I really hated to talk about people when they're in the room but I knew there was no way that Katie would answer me if I tried to talk to her.
"Yeah it's fine, get yourself something to eat. Take your time." Niall smiled obviously wanting me to leave him alone with Katie.
I walked around the overly large apartment until I found the kitchen. Once in the kitchen I noticed the rest of the boys minus Niall sitting at the dinning table along with Perrie and that skank Eleanor.
They all looked up at me with hopeful eyes, except Eleanor of course. I think they were expecting to see Katie with me because once they realised she wasn't in the kitchen they all returned they gazes to the food in front of them.
I noticed that the only free seat was next to Harry so I quietly made my way over there and sat down. No one had dared to talk but Harry handed me a plate with some bacon and eggs. I said a small thank you before I started eating.
The silence was starting to get on my nerves because I knew they all wanted to ask questions about last night but none of them had the balls to talk first. Guess it's time for me to step up and break this ice.
"So how is everyone feeling this morning? Not to hungover?" I looked up to see that everyone had their eyes on me. Well someone had to talk first so I don't see why they're all looking at me so shocked.
"We're good but how's Katie?" Liam asked going into big brother mode. I think he has become very accustom to that mode by now which is weird since he has only had Katie here in London for just over a week but I guess it shows how much he really cares about her.
"She's fine just really hungover but I've seen her worse." I laughed at the memories of how hungover Katie has been in the past but I guess that comes with being popular in high school.
"You know perfectly well that's not what I was referring to." Liam said while quickly looking to Louis then back at me.
"Jesus Christ! does everyone know?" I said while pushing my now empty plate away from me.
Eleanor scoffed before looking away from me like the answer to my question was obvious.
"What's your problem?" I have never been good at faking niceness towards people I don't like.
"Oh besides the fact that my boyfriend is practically drooling all over an eighteen year old every time he sees her, I don't have a problem." She put on this extremely sarcastic smile when she had finished talking that just made me want to punch the living daylights out of her.
"You cant serious be blaming Katie for the way Louis feels towards her, she has the sweetest personality ever and she is so adorable and hot at the same time." Harry spoke up trying to defend Katie since she wasn't here to do it herself.
"She's eighteen and Louis is twenty two! He shouldn't have any feelings for her!" Eleanor shot back at Harry like it was a crime for there to be just feelings between the two of them.
"Eleanor! That's enough! So I like Katie big deal, I am allowed to have feelings for whoever I want!"
"But what about us?" Eleanor whispered in a tiny voice. That's right you be scared because I still want to punch you.
"You said yourself Eleanor, it's just for the media."
Louis tried to walk away from the kitchen and towards Katie's room but before he had fully left the kitchen I ran after him and stood in the doorway so he couldn't leave.
"You stay away from Katie and sit your ass down and talk things out with Eleanor." I sternly told him making sure I sounded as serious as I could.
"But I need to sort things out with Katie!" Louis yelled while pulling at the roots of his hair with both hands.
"She doesn't need that right now! Do you think it's better to push her away completely or still have her as a friend?" I yelled at Louis just as loud as he had.
His eyes widened at the thought of loosing Katie's friendship, I know that he wouldn't want that because they're so close already.
"Well she shouldn't be alone." He fought back not realising that right now she was in the arms of some one that doesn't screw her around. A smirk crept it's way to my face at the thought of Katie and Niall which made Louis look at me with a clueless look on his face.
"She's not alone. Why do you think Niall isn't out here eating all the food? Because he's busy being prince charming!" I watched as Louis' face visibly paled at the thought of someone else comforting Katie for once.
"Why is Niall with her? That should be me!" Louis screamed at me while he tried to hold in his tears.
"You lost that chance when you let Eleanor walk in here on Katie's fucking birthday!"
Niall's POV
It's been a good hour since Ashley left me alone with Katie and I can't help but feel sorry for Katie, she doesn't deserve to be pushed around like this by Louis.
I knew that I could treat Katie much better but there is no way I'm pushing that subject on her when she is this upset other someone else.
"Katie? Are you still awake?" I whispered since she had gone quiet and didn't want to wake her up if she had fallen asleep again.
"No, I'm awake." She whispered back in her small shaken voice.
It fell into a comfortable silence since I had nothing else to say. Katie moved closer towards me to keep warm and couldn't help myself so I place a soft kiss on her forehead.
"Niall?" A small voice said from beside me.
I hummed in response before pulling Katie even closer to me if that was even possible. I needed her as close as possible, I needed to try and keep her safe but I knew perfectly well that I couldn't keep her safe from her own feelings no matter how hard I tried.
"I don't want to be sad anymore." Katie talked as she looked directly into my eyes. I could tell that she wasn't just talking about her and Louis but she was talking generally, she hasn't been the happiest person since she moved out to London so at this point I would do anything to make her happy.
"Then what will make you happy?" I asked while lightly running my knuckles over her tear stained cheek.
"You." She whispered while grabbing my hand and interlocking our fingers.
"I'm right here kiddo, I'm not going anywhere." I kissed her forehead again to make sure she understood how serious I was about not leaving her.
"No Niall I like you, please help me take away my pain." She pleaded as she looked up at me again.
I felt like the air was no longer reaching my lungs and like there was a hand squeezing my heart. I couldn't believe that this adorable girl right in front of me felt the same as I did.
Louis may have hurt her but I will never make that mistake with Katie, I care about her too much to let her slip through my fingers.
It's now or never and I am choosing now.
"You have me Katie, like I said I'm not going anywhere."
She cuddled into me more and closed her tired eyes to try and get a bit more sleep.
I closed my eyes as well and slowly started to drift off but before I was fully asleep I whispered to Katie one more time.
"I have feelings for you too."

It's a bit short but I hope you like it!
This is kind of just a filler and a way to see where the relationships between people are at. I did give a bit of a hint for something happening between Ashley and Harry but keep in mind that at this point he is still with Kendell.
