“Hey Liam says you’ve been moping.” Harry announced loudly when we walked into Zayn’s flat. I rolled my eyes at the lack of tact Harry had.

Zayn sat up from where he was laying on the couch staring at his phone.

“I’m not moping.” He grumbled. I frowned and sat down next to him.

“What’s wrong Zayney?” I asked him softly rubbing his shoulder for comfort. He sighed.

“It’s nothing, it’s just Lacey and I were supposed to meet up here yesterday but she never showed up. And now she won’t answer her phone. I’m kind of worried.” He told us sadly. I frowned and pulled out my own phone, quickly calling Lacey’s number. No answer so I quickly sent her a text.

“I’m sure it’s nothing mate. She’s probably gotten stuck doing something for her parents and hasn’t had time to call. She’ll call back today don’t worry.” Harry said ruffling up Zayn’s hair who slapped him in return.

“Come on, let’s go to Liam’s for lunch. The others are already there.” I told him, grabbing his hand and making him leave the room. He grumbled and groaned but more or less came willingly. We stepped out of his flat and turned to take the few steps towards Liam’s.

“Tamzyn.” Zayn’s voice suddenly said. I turned back around to see Tamzyn standing in the hallway, tears falling down her face. I rushed over quickly and grabbed her hands as Harry and Zayn stayed frozen.

“Are you okay? What’s wrong?” I asked her quickly. Checking her once over to make sure she wasn’t hurt.

“Is Lacey okay?” Zayn asked as soon as I had deemed Tamzyn to be okay. She shook her head at Zayn’s words and held onto my hands tightly. I wrapped an arm around her shoulder and tried to comfort her.

“What happened? Did something happen to her? Is she in the hospital?” Zayn asked rushing forwards. Tamzyn just shook her head again at Zayn. “Speak!”

“Zayn, stop it. She’s already upset you’re making it worse.”I warned him as Harry wrapped his hand around his arm and pulled him back.

The others slowly filed out of Liam’s flat upon hearing Zayn’s shout.

“What’s going on?” Dani asked instantly glancing to all four of us. I shrugged at her.

“What happened Tamzyn? You can tell us.”I coaxed her softly.

“Please don’t hate me.” She choked out suddenly. I froze for a moment before rubbing soothing circles into her arm.

“We wouldn’t hate you.” I told her confused as I glanced at Harry. What on Earth was going on?

“Lacey’s couldn’t come because she was locked away.” Tamzyn stated. I looked at her shocked.

“What do you mean locked away?” Harry said approaching us closer.

“Her parents they locked her in her room.”

“Is that even legal?” I asked incredulous.

“They found out about her and Zayn.” Tamzyn muttered as Zayn cursed instantly and shoved his hand roughly through his hair, thoroughly messing it up.

“They took away her phone and everything. They won’t let her leave the house.” Tamzyn continued to explain as more tears fell. I took pity on her and pulled her into a proper hug as Zayn began to pace.

“I should go there. Try to explain or something.”

“And do what Zayn? Ride up on a shiny horse and save the damsel in distress. There’s nothing you can do right now. Let them sort it out.” Liam tried to reason with him as he looked ready to leave this instant. His face was distraught and I saw the panic and worry written across his face. He was so unbelievably worried about this girl.

“I have to do something Liam.” Zayn whined as Harry wrapped an arm around his shoulder to try and quieten him. I shared a look with Eleanor and Dani. We knew this day would happen. Not exactly like this but there would be a point where Zayn and Lacey had to stop what they were doing. I knew Zayn was going to get hurt, it was inevitable.

“How did they find out anyway?” Zayn exclaimed.

“I don’t know mate. I mean maybe that Edmund guy found something out.” Louis tried to help. Zayn shook his head and frowned. My eyes widened as Tamzyn began to cry harder into my shoulder. I glanced down at her dark mess of hair. Tamzyn was a wreck. But I assumed Lacey’s parents would still let Tamzyn see her, so why was Tamzyn this upset.

I pushed her away from me by her shoulders. She stumbled a bit and glanced up at me as I dropped my arms and stood back, shocked.

“You told them.” I stated more than asked. Zayn instantly appeared by my side as he glared at Tamzyn. She cowered under his look but nodded none the less. Before Zayn could move Harry and Niall had him by both arms. He couldn’t get anywhere.

“I’m sorry! I thought it was the best thing to do. You two were getting so serious and Edmund found out. He figured it out after your trip to Paris! I mean did you think he was stupid!” Zayn growled lowly at Tamzyn.

“She’s getting married Zayn. She can’t get out of that, she needed to stop wasting away on fantasies of you and focus on reality.” Tamzyn tried to explain through her sniffles. I sighed and closed my eyes briefly before looking at Zayn who was shaking his head violently at her. I saw a few tears had leaked from his eyes.

“No I’m not letting her marry that tosser!” He yelled.

“You don’t have a choice. She already said yes and the wedding’s in six weeks. It’s too late Zayn. It’s too late for you both. I’m helping her.” Tamzyn sounded like she was trying to convince herself of that just as much as she was us.

“So you told her parents about it.” Harry supplied, shaking his head.

“I didn’t think they would react the way they did. I didn’t think they would lock her away.”

“Is she at least okay?” Tate asked.

“She won’t see me anymore. She doesn’t want anything to do with me.” Tamzyn sobbed out, fresh tears falling down her face again as she wrapped an arm around her stomach like she was hugging herself.

“That’s what happens when you betray a friend.” Harry said harshly. I frowned and couldn’t help but pity the girl slightly. She had tried to help her friend. She did what she had thought was the right thing. She just went around it the wrong way.

“I really am sorry.” Tamzyn said, lowering her head.

“I don’t care. Get out, get out of this building!” Zayn yelled at her, Niall and Harry stood beside him in case he needed to be grabbed again. Tamzyn looked between all of us. I glanced away the moment her eyes met mine.

I liked Tamzyn she seemed like a nice girl and we had gotten a long great. I knew she what she had thought was for Lacey’s best interest. They were close and I understood that. Just like I knew that no matter what I would be on Zayn’s side of this.

“I’m so sorry.” Tamzyn muttered again when no one would stand up for her. I looked back at her as she slowly turned and headed towards the stairs.

“I have to go see her. Maybe talk to her parents.” Zayn said moving out of Harry and Niall’s way.

“And say what Zayn?” Harry asked him. “They already don’t like you.”

“I don’t know! Make them like me, I guess.” Zayn muttered running a hand through his hair savagely. I was afraid he might pull it out.

“She’s engaged Zayn. She’s going to be married soon. This was all arranged way before your relationship with her. There’s nothing you can do.” Liam supplied.

“Maybe it’s time to just let this go.” Louis added on. Zayn snapped his head so fast in their direction I thought he might get whiplash.

“I CAN’T!” He yelled at them angrily. Surprising us all. Harry placed a hand on his shoulder trying to calm him down.

“I can’t okay.” He said much softer this time. “I’m in love with her.”
