Until the Last Autumn Leaf Falls
Chapter 4
I woke up around 11 on the coach. Fern wasn't around so I got up and went to the kitchen. There was a note on the kitchen counter.
*hey Kell. We went grocery shopping so you wouldn't have to during the week. Love ya! Be back soon. -fern
i looked in the fridge and saw that we were pretty bare so I decided to eat when they got back. I went upstairs to my room and decided to take a shower. I turned on the shower and waited for it to turn on. I stepped in and washed my body and hair. I stood in there stalling on washing my face.
I thought about my parents. I knew they were gonna find out about me staying in London for an extra 3 months if I wasn't careful. Truth is, I don't even know what I'm supposed to be going to college for. I want to act. Or be a singer. But I don't think I have the talent for either of that.
So I'm just going to make my parents happy.
I finally washed my face and turned off the water. I stepped out and dried myself off and put my dirty clothes into the cloth hamper. I walked out of my room and threw on a pair of gray sweatpants and a long sleeve Adidas crew neck.
i brushed my hair out and braided it back. I put on some nike socks and walked downstairs.
"hey fern. " I said as I walked down.
"hey Kell. " she said
"what time is it?" I asked. She checked her phone.
"12:30" she said.
Wow. I had taken a long shower.
"so what time are you leaving?" I asked. While grabbing a frozen waffle and putting it in the toaster oven.
"well now?" she said. Looking at mathew who just walked down.
"yeah. They moved the train time up because of a storm that's supposed to be coming in. " mathew said.
"oh.." I said.
"but don't worry Kell. I'll be back. I promise! It's only a week" she said hugging me.
"I know I know. I'll just miss ya. " I said.
"I know I know. " she said mocking me.
"ready?" mathew asked.
"yup" she said. We walked to the at in silence and I helped them pack it up.
"bye fern. SEE YOU IN A WEEK!" I said hugging her one last time. I shut her door and she waved.
I waved back. And stepped away from the car.
I stood alone on the sidewalk.
I turned around and walked into a curly hair boy.
"sorry " I said catching my balance. Then I kept walking straight into the building. I looked back one to see where he went. He went into the building on the left. His hood was up and I couldn't see his face. But it looked like it was one of the boys from the park yesterday.
I walked into the flat and finally realized I was alone. I grabbed my black toms. And decided to go for a walk. This was going to be a lonely week.
