The Deal

Epilogue

*Harry Styles*

I sat at the table as I watched her laugh and dance with Robin. Olivia always looked good, but today she looked absolutely breathtaking. Her usually straight hair was curled slightly, tied in a braid that fell over one shoulder, loose curls falling around and framing her thin face perfectly. Her lashes have been curled today, her pink lips shimmering with gloss—or whatever it was that girls called it. She wore a light pink dress that reached a little above her knees, flowing freely around her. The size of her heels made me wonder how she was even able to stand, but the grace with which she stood and carried herself was astounding. I was proud of her, and I was proud to call someone this beautiful mine.

In a span of six months, Olivia had managed to make my family and friends fall in love with her as hard as I had. Mum, Gemma and Olivia got along so well that it was sort of annoying. Even Robin loved her. And as for the boys, they always had. She’d found her won place in my world, and for that I was happy. Like I’d told her before, I could get used to it.

“Well,” mum said, breaking me out of my thoughts. “Are you going to just sit here and stare at her the whole day, or are you going to ask her to dance with you?”

I blushed furiously. “I’m not—”

“Go and dance with your girlfriend for a bit,” Mum hit me lightly on the arm.

“Ma, you look beautiful today,” I told her.

Mum blushed lightly. “Alright, alright,” she said, patting my shoulder. “You look very handsome, too.”

“I’m happy for you.”

“Oh, honey, I’m happy too.” She said, smiling at me with teary eyes. Then she laughed. “Now go!”

I placed a light kiss on her cheek and then made my way over to Robin and Olivia. I gently tapped Robin on the
shoulder and the two stopped dancing and turned to look at me. Olivia smiled brightly when she saw me.

“Harry!” Robin beamed, and stepped away from Olivia. “Come here to steal Olivia here, have you?”
I grinned.

“I was hoping to ask your mother to dance again anyway,” Robin said, and with that he was gone.

I quickly pulled her into my arms, wrapping my arms around her waist. She grinned and reached up to wrap her own around my neck.

“Not tired, are you?” I asked her, resting my forehead against hers.

She shook her head. “I’m having fun,” she promised me. “I’ve never been to a wedding before, this is amazing.” She then smiled. “Your mum looks happy.”

I looked over her shoulder to see mum and Robin dancing together, while everyone else watched them. I smiled.
“She is.” I said. “I’m happy too. She deserves this.”

“She looks gorgeous,” Olivia said, and then kissed the top of my nose. “You do too, mister.”

I blushed. “You’re one to talk,” I told her. “You look beautiful. You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen, you know that?”

Olivia giggled. “You are so cheesy.”

I shrugged. “Weddings are cheesy occasions.” I laughed.

“So I noticed something today,” she said.

“What’s that?"

Harry, your legs are impossibly long.” She said.

I laughed loudly. “What?”

She nodded, absolutely serious. “I can’t believe I didn’t notice before,” she said. “They’re freakishly long.”

“Are you making fun of me?” I asked her, narrowing my eyes down at her.

She chuckled. “No, no,” she promised. “You’ve got a cracking pair of legs on you, Styles.”

I shook my head. “You suck, you know that?”

“I’m not making fun of you,” she insisted, and we both laughed.

She sighed and rested her head on my shoulder as we danced in silence for a while, happy and comfortable. I rested my cheek on top of her head.

“This is all really new to me, you know?” she said after a minute or so.

“Hmm?”

“This whole…dating thing…” she said, “being in love. It’s…I’m not very good at it.”

I pulled away to look at her. “I think you’re doing just fine, baby.” I promised her. “You can’t be ‘good’ or ‘bad’ at being in love, Harper. It just happens.”

“Yeah, but,” she shrugged, “it’s still new to me. Besides, you know what it’s like to be in love and want to be with someone this bad.”

“Well, it’s only happened once to me, before,” I told her. “But that was nothing compared to the way I feel about you.”

Olivia blushed, but her smile was happy. “I like it when you say things like that.” She mumbled shyly.

“What, you mean when I tell you I love you?” I asked her, teasingly. “Because I do, baby. I love you.”

She looked up at me. “I love you too,” she told me.

“Good.” I said, and then leaned down to kiss her. It was soft and sweet, and I held her tight as our lips moved
together, her long lashes brushing my cheeks, her hands playing with the curls at the nape of my neck. She pulled away and kissed my cheek.

“A year ago if someone told me I’d be this in love, I wouldn’t believe them,” she laughed.

I smiled but otherwise remained silent, holding her close to me. We were dancing anymore just swaying from side to side and hugging, cheeks pressed together. I looked over at mum and Robin, looking at each other, impossibly in love. I wondered if Olivia and I could ever be something like that. It wasn’t as if I’d drop down on one knee and propose to her the moment we were out of school, but years down the line, thinking about starting my life with Olivia didn’t seem like a bad idea at all.

She snapped me out of my thoughts by voicing what was going on through my head. “Do you think that could be us someday?” she asked, and when I pulled away to look at her, she flushed. “I mean…like…your mum and Robin,
do you think we…”

I smiled. “Do you want us to be?” I asked her.

I knew what her answer would be, but she still tried to swallow her embarrassment as she replied. Her cheeks had turned a furious red, and she looked down when she answered. “I…well, yeah.” She mumbled quietly. “I’d like that, someday.”

I nudged her nose with mine, silently asking her to look at me. Still embarrassed, she met my eyes. “I’d like that too.” I told her, and then kissed her.

“That’s…you know, that’s good.” She mumbled, clearly awkward.

I laughed. “You look cute when you blush.”

She smacked my arm. “Don’t laugh at me.” she mumbled, and then hid her face in my chest.

And why not, I thought. If the rest of my life would pass like this, with her right next to me, I think I’d be okay. I’d be more than okay.
