Birthday Part One
Nina’s P.O.V
“ Happy birthday Harry !” We all coursed as the clock hit midnight. Dani walked in slowly with a glowing cake in her hands.
“ We know your party is tonight but we thought we should get you a cake” She explains while sitting it in front of his gleaming face.
“ Thank you everyone” He nervously glances over at me before blowing out his candles
“ Awe one girlfriend Harry !” Louis shouts at the last remaining candle. I gulp down the lump forming in my throat.
Harry gives him a cheeky grin before blowing it out.
Dani yawns and instantly Liam moves across the room “ Come on, better get you two too bed” He says gently before placing his left hand on the small bump on her stomach. I cant help but smile at his cute gesture.
She gives him a weak tired smile before they leave the apartment.
The next yawn was Tia, as she took her last bite of cake. She looks up at Niall with bags under her eyes, he smiles down at her.
“ We should get going to, we’ll see you in the morning”
I stand up and quickly give Tia a small hug, it’s weird being here and not staying with her.
“ I’m going to Perrie’s and I promised her I wouldn’t be too late” Zayn divulges, Harry gives him an understanding smile.
Lou, El Harry and I were left. I felt awkward under Harry’s green gaze.
“ Well I shou-“ Lou cuts me off
“ Lets go to bed El” Quickly he picks her up, earning two slaps and a couple squeals from her. “ Goodnight Harry, night Nina” She yells as Louis’ runs down the hall.
“ I should get going to” I say quietly. I avoid eye contact with him but I can feel him burning holes in me.
He clears his throat “ I’ll drive you” He stands and produces a set of keys from his pocket.
I shake my head “ No, the hotel is only a few blocks away” He doesn’t seem pleased with my answer, his mouth pressed into a hard line.
“ Please let me drive you, it’s late” He proclaims, voice soft.
“ I can walk Harry I’m not a child” I reluctantly refuse his request once more.
“ For fuck sakes Nina, I want to make sure you get to the hotel safe since you decided on your own you wanted to stay there without telling me about it” He shouts desperately, I flinch at the noise level.
“ I don’t need to tell you those things anymore Harry, and you don’t need to worry about if I get there or not, I’ll call Tia” I reply, my voice cool and clipped completely emotionless.
“ What are you saying…” He whispers, running his hand through his hair.
“ I don’t want to argue with you Harry, especially on your birthday, I’m not here to ruin it”
He steps closer to me and takes hold of my wrists
“ What are you saying Nina” His voice is persistent, he stares down at me, his eyes glossy, face creased.
“ Please let go of me” I try to struggle out of his grab.
“ Nina what are you saying?” He’s reluctant, he shouts loudly making me jump. I can feel tears forming in my eyes.
“ I can’t think when you’re around me, what you did really hurt okay” I shout back in his face. He lets go of me and backs up, as if he was wounded by words.
“ Nina” He begins quietly “ I’m sorry, for what I did, you have no idea how much it kills me knowing I hurt you” his voice is barley audible.
“ I can’t do this right now” I walk past him and brush the first tear off my face.
“ Stop walking away from me Nina”
I can feel him behind me. I wrap my arms around myself and spin around.
“ I’m going Harry” I motion towards the door. He steps in front of me
“ No, you’re not” He brings his hands up and cups my face gently. My first instinct is to move back but I can’t bring myself to do it. I lean into his hands gently and sob quietly. He brings my head to the crook in his neck and wraps his arms around me. I don’t hesitate to bring my hands around him.
“ I love you baby, I love you so much” He whispers softly into my ear caressing me gently.
“I have to go” My voice cracks
“ Please don’t”
“ I’m sorry” I say quietly before breaking the embrace. He looks at me, worn out and broken. I feel guilty that I’m the reason he’s like this on his birthday.
“ I’ll see you tonight at 8” I try to get back the Harry I know. From this broken shell standing in front of me.
“ Can I ask you for one thing?” He gulps down and I hear a sharp intake of breath.
I nod “ Yes anything”
“ A birthday kiss”
I walk forward and he gently presses his lips against mine. It’s soft, but passionate. I wrap my arms around his neck as he deepens the kiss. His hands run along my back and find a place resting on my bum. He bites my lower lip for entrance, without thinking I open my mouth slightly and his tongue invades my mouth, exploring every aspect. Fireworks radiate through out my body from the kiss and for a moment I forget everything that’s happened in the last couple days.
“ Harry” I moan as his lips find my neck, abruptly I find myself moving backwards towards the couch.
My knees hit the couch and we fall back “ Harry I can’t” I speak quickly, my pace of breath eradicated. He pauses, hovering over me.
“ Yes you can”
“ But this wont change things, we aren’t together” He looks as if my words have hit him with a thousand bricks.
“ I’m not going to stop trying for you, no matter what, I love you” I can feel his breath on my lower lip. We stay like this for a moment, just staring at each other. He lowers his head and finds my mouth once more.
His hands slide to the hem of my shirt and gently he lifts it over my head, I do the same to him, tossing it on the floor. He unclips my shorts and gently slides them off along with my lace panties. His right hand glides to my clit and starts moving in a circular motion slowly.
“ Ahh” I call out as he moves his finger inside me. I move my left hand down to the button on his jeans and fidget with it for a couple seconds before it comes undone. I push them down as far as I can before he shimmys them off and onto the ground.
“ Harry please” I moan as he moves his finger faster and faster.
Abruptly he takes it out and his mouth smashes on to mine. He aligns his length with my center and thrusts in.
I take a deep breath in as he moves… faster… harder…slower…faster
“ Stop!” I scream, he looks down at me, eyes bewildered with my outburst.
“ Just stop please” I choke, tears filling my eyes.
“ Babe” he whispers, getting off of me and sitting upright at the other end of the couch.
“ What’s wrong” He holds his hand out and tries to touch my cheek, I swerve my head away. His hand drops helplessly, his green eyes weaken.
“ What’s wrong? You’re really asking me that?” My voice cracks as the tears flow slowly down my face
He stares at me confused.
“ I can’t keep doing this with you Harry, I can’t keep coming back and forth and doing all this” I gesture to our surroundings
“ I’m sorry I can’t be exactly what you want” He stares down at his fingers
“ You are what I want, there’s just allot going on right now and everything messed up okay” I sniffle and his shoulders rise
“ You don’t need to make this sound good when it’s not” he mumbles softly
“ Nina, where do we stand?” He sweeps his head to the side to look at me
“ I don- I don’t know Harry” The small trail of tears has turned into a river streaming down my face.
“ Why did you make me stop”
“ It was too much”
“ To many feelings?, I know, I felt it too” He narrows his eyes at me
“ But we aren’t together” He adds, I’m not sure if he’s asking me or stating it
“ No, we aren’t” I answer him regardless of the context.
He huffs a small laugh “ I didn’t expect to feel this way when you said that” His voice cracks on the last word, he turns his head away from me and swallows. His hand moves to his eyes and swipes.
“ Goodnight Nina” He stands, still not facing me and walks down the hallway.
