Breathe

9:30 came all too quickly; I rushed to the airport to catch my flight not sure what going to London will bring me.

The flight was almost too quick; I wish I hadn’t fallen asleep, as soon as we land in the London Airport nervousness and regret fills my stomach, what am I doing here, I mentally kick myself for acting on such foolish terms. I pick up my luggage and make my way through customs, I look down at my self, and thankfully I’ve chosen a cute outfit for today’s events, a burgundy floral spaghetti strap flowy crop top, a pair of cream short shorts and my lace Toms, the shirt hangs just below my rib line, revealing my petite stomach.

“ NINA” I hear Dani scream as I exit customs, the first thing I notice on her is her small baby bump

“ OH MY GOD” I run up to her and engulf her in a bear hug

“ I missed you” She looks me up and down

“ I’ve missed you more” I place one hand on her small baby bump

“ Awe little Liam” I make a pouting face

“ We should go, the paps are here” Her face drops as I notice photographers snapping pictures of our moment

“ Shit” I mumble under my breath before following Dani out to the car, London is beautiful.

“ Where El” I ask sitting in the passenger seat

“ She was keeping the boys busy so I could come get you” She turns on her signal light

“ I should stay in a hotel”

“ Um excuse me? I haven’t seen you in a like two months and you’re ditching me for a hotel” She sounds outraged with a hint of joking-ness

“ I don’t know if I’m ready to see Harry” I say honestly, her look softens and she gives me an understanding smile

“ You can stay with Liam and I, you don’t have to face Harry just yet” She squeezes my hand

“ But aren’t you guys in the same house?” I look up at her suspiciously

“ Well same complex but not same rooms and such, you’ll see” I hear her phone vibrate and the name El and then text message come up

“ What does that say?” She looks from her phone too me

“ Umm it says that the boys are becoming restless with shopping and are going to be coming home in 20 minutes,” I say reading off the iPhone

“ Shit” she says before pressing on the gas pedal a bit harder

We arrive out side the complex and now I understand what she was talking about. Dani pops the trunk and I grab my small luggage bag.

“ That’s all you brought” She looks amused

“ Yeah, if it goes well I’ll buy more clothes, if not then..” I trail off and she gives me a reassuring smile

“ Harry loves you more than anything, It’s going to be fine” she unlocks the door before leading me inside.

“ BABY” I hear Liam yell from a room down the hallway, the place is big, white walled, a kitchen living room and dinning all in one big open room with 4 windows and a balcony.

“ Liam won’t tell Harry right?” I grab hold of Dani’s arm lightly

“ No of course not”

“ Who are you talking to” Liam walks out of the hallway and stops dead in his tracks in front of us, jaw dropped.

“ Ni- Nina” He speaks

“ Hi Liam”

“ Nina’s here on a vacation, she’s staying with us” Dani walks over to Liam and latches herself onto his waist

“ Does Harry know?” He glances between Dani and I

“ No” I look down

“ And we’d like to keep it that way” Dani says sternly, staring up at Liam

“ How are we going to do that when he’s only two doors down” Liam’s face turns pale

“ Erm” I actually have no idea how I’m going to pull this off

“ Exactly” Liam sounds nervous

“ I can’t lie to him,” he adds

“ Harry has no idea, as long as he doesn’t know, why would he ask, if he doesn’t ask you’re not lying” Dani says quietly

“ Alright, when are you going to let him know you’re here?” He stares at me

“ Um, I don’t know yet, maybe tomorrow or I’ll just let him figure it out”

“ End of discussion” Dani walks over and grabs my hand leading me into the guest bedroom.

“ You can sleep here, we’re suppose to go to Harrys and Louis for dinner but I’m assuming you wont be coming”

“ No, I’ll stay here maybe go look around London a bit” I say while sitting down on the bed

“ Stay close, you don’t know you’re way around and London’s quite big” She talks to me like she’s my mother, speaking of mothers I should call my family.

“ DANI LETS GO” Liam yells from the front door

“ Bye love” She walks out of the room, leaving a key to the place on the nightstand. I sigh and fall backwards on the bed – this is going to be along trip. After about twenty minutes of being yelled at by my mom dad and Tia I finally pluck up the courage to leave the complex.

London’s chilly at night I walk along the street until I find a something familiar, a Starbucks.

“ Can I get a Venti green tea please” I ask the boy behind the cash register, I didn’t notice his good looks until he hands me the debit machine, he’s tall, broad shouldered, very muscular, with a hint tan on his skin, blonde hair and hazel brown eyes. I suppress a small smile as he grins at me.

“ Is that all beautiful,” He asks cocking his head to one side

“ Yes”

“ Can I get your name for the cup?” he says holding up a large cup and a pen

“ Nina”

“ Now, Nina, can I get your number?” he says setting the cup down, I cant help but blush

“ Does the cup need my number too?” I ask sarcastically

“ It would be preferable, sorry Nina I don’t make the rules” He jokes at me and I giggle, I grab the pen out of his hand and a stray napkin on the counter and quickly jot down my number before handing it all back to him and moving to get my tea. Shit, I didn’t catch his name. I take my tea and walk further into the store, finding a nice spot in the corner where I can drink my tea in peace.

“ Some one looks lonely” A voice says behind me, I turn around to see cashier boy smiling big at me

“ Hey get back to work,” I say kiddingly

“ I’m officially off work,” he says sitting down beside me

“ I’m Max” He holds out his hand

“ You already know my name” I gesture to the cup


“ You don’t have an accent, where are you from?”

“ New York” I smile


“ What brings you here?”

“ Vacation sorta”

“ Sounds fun” he sits back

“ More like complicated” I frown

“ A boy?” He looks sympathetic

“ Yeah a boy” I sigh

“ Well that’s too bad” I hear my phone vibrate and its Dani telling me its safe to come home

“ Well I should get going” I smile up at him

“ I’ll walk you” He gets up and holds the door for me

“ So what’s it like in New York” He says walking with his hands in his pockets

I laugh “ Its amazing, I love living there”

“ How’s London treating you?”

“ Good, except its cold” I shiver

“ Here” Max removes his jacket and drapes it over my shoulders

“ Thanks” I say quietly

“ How long are you here for?” He changes the topic

“ Um depends how some stuff goes” I look up, we’ve arrived at the complex

“ This is me” He looks the building up and down

“ It was nice meeting you, I hope I get to see you again before you leave”

“ Maybe” I answer sweetly

“ Bye Nina” He takes a step closer and I take a step back

“ Goodbye Max” I take off his jacket and hand it back to him. He opens his arms for a hug and I quickly oblige. He smells of cologne and tea I notice as my arms are wrapped around his neck.
“ Bye Nina” He says again before turning away. I sigh as he walks off, what am I getting myself into. I open the gate and look up as a raindrop hits the tip of my nose. Oh my god… Not only do I realize it’s raining but a certain pair of green eyes is watching me from the window nothing but pure anger engraved in his face, hurt laced in his gaze. Harry’s seen me for the first time since the breakup, and I was with Max, had he seen it all, everything, I gulp as I walk forward into the complex, trying to prepare myself for the storm Harry that was coming my way.

I get to Dani and Liam’s door just in time to see him marching down the opposite end of the hallway I close my eyes briefly.

“ Who was that? And what are you doing here” He snarls at me narrowing his eyes; two can play at this game Styles.

“ He’s just a friend and I came to see Dani and El and the rest of the boys” I spit back at him, he steps back as if I’ve slapped him

“ Just a friend? WHY THE FUCK WERE YOU WEARING HIS JACKET?” At this point he’s screaming his face goes red from the loudness of his voice.

“ WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU ON MAGAZINES EVERY OTHER DAY WITH OTHER GIRLS HARRY” I scream back at him, taking him by surprise.

“ What’s going on here” I see Louis walking down the end of the Hallway with the rest of the gang, confused looks from everyone but Liam and Dani

“ Nina” Niall spoke smiling

“ When did she get here” Louis asks the group, they all were happy I was here, all except Harry who hasn’t taken his raged eyes off me

“ Doesn’t matter, I’m leaving” I say before turning into Liam and Dani’s apartment.

“ So you’re just going to run away,” Harry shouts at me, following me into the room

“ Oh like you” I say sarcastically

“ I had no choice” He strikes his hand on his chest

“ That’s a load of bullshit Harry, you left me, I’m here, I came for you, you didn’t come for me” Tears prick my eyes

“ Oh here come the water works” He sighs; is he fucking kidding me? Anger rises in me

“ What’s your fucking problem?” I scream at him, spinning around “ Cause if its me don’t worry, I’m leaving” I notice the rest of the group has taken safety behind the kitchen counter, Louis wide eyed and worried, Niall with his hand in a chip bag and the rest of them watching attentively.

“ My problem is I just saw the girl I’m in love with in the arms of another fucking guy, flirting with him, wearing his god damn jacket,” He hisses at me

“ Now you know how I feel, seeing those stupid pictures everyday” I yell and he takes a step closer

“ Can we stop arguing and talk love?” He puts out his arms and I spin around away from his reach

“ Fuck you” I say out of anger, he has the nerve to scream at me when I’ve travelled this far to get back together with him

“ Nina” Louis warns

“ Stay out of this” I snap at him

“ So you’re not just mad at me,” Harry says sarcastically

“ I’m done here” I turn away from him and walk into my room, fully aware he’s following me; I close the door and lock it before he has the chance to get in.

“ Open the damn door Nina” He shouts from the other end, quickly I grab my un opened suit case and jacket and open the door, marching right past him back into the main room

“ No, you’re not leaving” Harry walks up to me and grabs the suitcase out of my hands, hurt visible in his every move.

“ Nina, please stay” El says from behind the counter

“ Give me back my suit case Harry” I step towards him

“ You’re not leaving me Nina”

“ We aren’t together I can do what I please”

“ Oh like that guy who gave you his jacket, are you going to do him?” He asks, raising his voice again

“ I’LL DO WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT, IF I WANT TO FUCK MAX THEN I’LL FUCK MAX CAUSE YOU KNOW WHY HARRY? I’M NOT YOURS” I scream at him at the top of my lungs, he doesn’t say anything, just drops the suit case and stares at me, shocked, hurt, mad. I close my eyes and sigh.

“ Enough” Zayn comes out from behind the counter

“ Nina go put your stuff back in the room, you can stay tonight and if you really want to leave you can in the morning, it’s too late to make decisions” Liam walks towards me and picks up my suit case, brining it back into the room. Harry finally un-pries his eyes off me, I see tears forming as he walks over to the couch, he sits and runs both his hands through his hair, frustrated and hurt. I wanted to run up to him and kiss him, but the angry part of me wants nothing to do with him, I give the group a weak smile before walking back into the guest room.
