He’s the boy I always see in the pub.


Olivia’s POV

Here I was, going to Charlotte’s Birthday party with no present. Not that I didn’t want to buy a present, I really did. But said that she’ll tell me why when I get there. That is where I’m going to meet her gang members. It kinda freaks me out a bit but they’re her friends.

I parked in her big driveway and hopped out of the car. I checked the time to make sure I was on time. It was 10.30 pm. Perfect. I could already here the music blasting through the speakers which I thought was way too oud. I knocked on her door before pulling my dress down a bit.

“There you are!” Charlotte opened the door. She had a plastic cup in her hands and was wearing a simple black dress.

“Come on!” She pulled me inside. There I saw a whole lot of unfamiliar faces but most of then were covered in tattoos.

“I like your dress!” She yelled over the loud music.

“Happy Birthday! I love yours too!” I said back.

“Come on! I’m going to introduce you to some of my friends” We passed the dancing people around us and went to her kitchen bar.

“This is Emma, a really good shoping buddy” She introduced a girl with a tight red dress and short-ish brown hair.

“Madsion, listening buddy” A girl with black hair an loads of make up smiled at me.

“And this is Jake, gang leader” A tall guy with his brown hair in a cuiff looked at me up and down. It wasn’t like he was checking me out, but it was diffrent.

“Guys this is Olivia” She said.

“Hello Olivia, I’m Jake Henry. Nice to finally meet you” Jake pushed his hand forward. Finally? I shook his hand before Charlie dragged me away.

“Here is a drink to loosen up a bit” She gave me a full plastic cup.

“Thank you, are all these people really from your gang?” My eyes scanned the room. There were loads of people.

“Almost, Jake is the one who planned this party for me so I don’t know all” She told me as I sipped on my drink. You really wouldn’t think that this is a birthday party if it wasn’t for the huge sign saying ‘Happy 20th B-day Party Charlie!’

“It’s crazy!” I told her.

"I know right! I love it” I chuckled a bit. I put down my now empty cup.

“I’ll be back in a bit. Wait here” Charlie excused herself. I grabbed a cup of wine and just stayed in my spot next to the kitchen. It was Friday today and normally I’d be at work right now.

“I’m back!” Charlie appeared out of no where.

“I have to talk to you” She said and I gave her a confused look.

“Okay…” I agreed and followed her to one of the bedrooms.

“Ok so I have to ask you a favour” she said once she closed the door and I sat on the bed.

“Ok, What’s up?” I asked and just then someone opened the door.

“Am I on time?” Jake asked.

"On time for what?” I asked confussed. What was going on.

“Ok so I told you I didn’t want you to buy a birthday present and that I’d tell you want I wanted right?” She asked and I nodded slowly.

"Ok well I’ve got one now” All of this was making me nervous and by the way Jake was watching me closely didn’t help.

“There’s this guy called Harry. He’s got curly brown hair and green eyes” I looked at her confused. Was she asking for advice?

“He’s a problem for our gang” She looked at Jake for a second.

“He basically steals drugs from us” My eyes grew wide. How was this related to a birthday present?!

"Why are you telling me this?” I was confused.

“We need you to spy on Harry” Jake spoke up and I coughed loudly. Did I hear that right?

"What?” “We need you to spy on Harry for us.

"We are not 100% that he steals from us and that’s why we need you” Charlotte said.

“Why me?” I asked.

“He knows us. All of us. He's seen our faces. We can't do that" Jake told me.

"Please Olivia do it for us. Think of the things I've done to you" She almost begged.

"And that is? Applying a job for me as a bartender. Kind of forcing me to get a nose piercing?" I stood up and looked at Charlotte.

"Look where you are now" She reasoned. I just sat down and pinched the bridge of my nose.

"It isn't so bad as you think Olivia" She said.

"What happens is I do it?" I asked. Jake kept looking at me as if he was reading my thoughts.

"You get a reward" He said.

"What may that reward be exactly?" I looked at him. He stayed silent for a bit.

"You'll find out when you agree" He said. I looked at Charlotte for a minute.

"Think about it?" She asked before exiting the room with Jake, leaving me alone in the room.

Oh God.
