When Niall woke up, he wasn't in his usual bedroom that he shared with Harry. The walls were painted a light blue and the bed was bigger and more plush. His sheets felt soft to his skin and the pillows felt more like clouds, but his throat was dry with the aftertaste of some sort of medicine he had never had before. Finally, he decided to open his eyes, but it was easier said then done. Niall had to continuously tell himself to open his eyes as if it was the hardest task known to man. When he did, his entire vision was blurry but he could faintly make out blonde hair in a chair next to him.
"Oh good you're up, but I wish you would have waited a little longer." Niall could make out the voice as Hayley, and soon his vision came into focus to confirm his hypothesis. Although, he was still very confused of how he had gotten there in the first place.
Niall attempted to speak but his mouth was too dry to allow him. Hayley had noticed this and grabbed a glass of water and held it up to his mouth for him. The Irishmen gladly drank it, but the aftertaste of the medicine became more evident. "What happened? How did I get in here?" Niall's questions seemed almost like a groan, but luckily Hayley understood some of what he was trying to say.
"Well, I was outside talking to the Hemming's driver when I saw you stumbling while attempting to go back into the house. I tried to help you but you fell unconscious and luckily Harry was bringing luggage outside but helped me instead. Then, Carrie saw us holding you and told us to put you in this room and she called their family doctor. He said that you had a virus and gave you some medicine to make you throw up, but after you did you fell asleep again and slept for almost an entire day. You're lucky you even woke up."
Niall was surprised at how severe the situation really was. Sure that morning he was feeling a bit uneasy, but the day before he felt fine. As thoughts of what could have made him sick traveled through his mind, they were all stopped at the reminder that Carrie had also helped him.
"What about Carrie? Why did she put me in this room?" Hayley smiled as she walked over to the foot of the bed and held onto the Chestnut bedpost.
"She's just at lunch with her family so they don't get suspicious. She's actually been in this room most of the time waiting and hoping that you will wake up. The doctor told her you had a really nasty virus and it was like she could care less about what was happening with everyone else. She cancelled all her plans so she could stay here but didn't tell her parents you were here and that you were sick. They started becoming curious of where she were always running off to that she had to go to lunch with them, but she should be back soon."
Just like clockwork, the door opened and in came the ever so radiant Carrie. Her pale pink dress matched her flushed cheeks and he hair was pinned up perfectly. Neither Niall nor Carrie had noticed that Hayley had left the room silently as Niall was shocked at how beautiful Carrie looked, and Carrie was shocked that Niall had finally woken up.
Carrie walked over to the bed quickly and leaned down and put her right hand next to Niall's arm on the bed and her left arm on top of the corner of the pillow Niall was resting on. "Do you feel ok? Are you hungry? Is there anything I can get for you?"
Niall was extremely happy that Carrie even cared that he was sick. He was happy that he was even alone in a room with one of the prettiest girls he had ever seen. Her hazel eyes showed concern and her pursed lips looked so soft and delicate like a carnation.
"Well actually, yes. I was wondering if you could get me a new body because apparently the one I have isn't working so well." Carrie laughed at Niall which only made him laugh along too. Carrie moved her right arm from the bed to on top of Niall's wrist and caressed her thumb against his arm.
"Personally, I like the body you already have."
Niall raised his eyebrows jokingly and moved his thumb slightly on the same arm Carrie was laying her hand on. "Oh really? I highly doubt it because you have at most seen my arms and my face but that's about it."
Carrie laughed at Niall's comment and bit her lip in an effort to contain her smile. "And how are you so sure? When you were unconscious you were sweating at a disgusting rate that we had to strip you down into only your tee shirt and boxers."
Niall had not even realized that he was only in a shirt and boxers because he always wore them to bed. He already felt so comfortable but now felt a little self conscious that Carrie had seen him almost (but not quite) naked.
"I hope you enjoyed the show, because that was a once in a lifetime experience." Carrie laughed at Niall's cheekiness and playfully slapped his arm lightly. Niall enjoyed making Carrie laugh because her smile made his heart fill up with joy. Just the fact that she was happy made him happy, and Niall was terrified of the thought of seeing her when she was sad, or even worse, angry.
"I didn't know I would be seeing such a show so quickly. I thought maybe you would take me out to lunch first." Niall smiled at the thought of taking Carrie on a date and remembered that today they were suppose to have one.
"Wait weren't we supposed to go into town today? I'm so sorry this happened I was honestly looking forward to it." Carrie smiled at the fact that Niall was being genuinely honest. She was upset that they couldn't go into town, but she was happy that he was finally awake and that her entire family and most of the staff were out of Souderton Abbey for the entire afternoon.
"Don't worry about it. We can still talk about nonsense things right here in this room and have just as good as a time. Oh and by the way, we never established today's plans as a 'date'." Niall's chest felt warm at the thought of hanging out one on one with Carrie for hours on end even though he felt like an idiot for thinking that they were even going on a date.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't find another good word to call it. Carrie Barlow, would you like to go on a date with me in this room, I guess?" Niall smiled up at her hopefully as Carrie grabbed his hand and squeezed it.
"Well I thought you would never ask."
So this weekend I will be out camping and doing all that good stuff (even though there is like 15 inches of snow outside) so I wont be able to update until next week.
Hope you enjoyed it and don't forget to vote and subscribe!
