The mentally brave ( Editing)

"Can I take my hand away? Or are you going to wake up the rest of the neighborhood with your screaming?" Perrie asked me. She pulls away her hand, sitting on my bed smiling
"What? How did you get into my room?" I whisper to her
"Did you forget already? I can get into almost anywhere, your home was quite easy" She grinned and got up, looking around the room.
"Will you tell me what you're doing here?" I ask her. This is so surreal, Perrie Edwards school queen in my room.
"Well I thought you might have some more questions" She glimpsed at me, then went back to looking at my things on the dresser.
"Aren't you supposed to go with Ed somewhere? You said something about having an early start" I rub my eyes trying to figure out what she's doing here.
"That is the other reason I'm here. Ed and I thought it could be a nice idea for you to join us, then you can understand everything better" She turned to look at me
"Where are you going?" I asked her
"You'll see" She tilted her head 'Just make up your mind fast or the Xmen will get to him first' she thought
"Xmen? That's how you nicknamed the Company X people?" I eye her
"So are you coming or not?" She shrugged at me.
"I'm in, give me a moment" I say getting out of bed as fast as I can in my still sleepy state.
"I'll be waiting in the car across the street, don't take long" And just like that she was out the window. I run to where I just saw her disappear and looked out. She was already at the front gate. As she walked she looked back at me and waved. I run to my closet to get some clean jeans out and a Jumper. I washed my face and brushed my teeth, pulling on my clothes at the same time.
I run down the stairs putting my hair in a high bun. I walked out the door and to where Perrie was waiting in the car with Ed.
"Here" Ed handed over a cup of coffee as I got in "You'll be needing this"
"Thanks" I take it from his hand, offering him a small smile. He is definitely not who I first thought he was. He had something very sweet and gentle about him, not at all the killer vibe I had at first.
"So who are we trying to get to before Company x does?" I ask after taking a sip.
"His name is Luke Hemmings. Australian, he is 18 and if he can do what Liam thinks he can do, then we really need to get to him first" Perrie handed over a file.
I looked at the photo of the boy. He had blond hair and blue eyes. Looked much younger than 18.
"What does Liam think he can do?" I am leaning in between the two front seats.
"Liam says that Luke can teleport" Ed looked ahead not taking his eyes off the road
"You don't actually think he can.. that is crazy" I look through the file again reading some more about the boy.
"What is he doing in the UK then?"
"He commits little crimes, like teleporting in to a bank safe and taking money and such" Perrie answered.
"That is a little crime? How do you know about this?" I wave the file
"Liam looks for these kinds of things, letting us know if the person can be a match" Ed said
"For instance these little crimes are too good to be true. And the security camera got a glimpse of Luke. Good thing Liam saw it first and erased it"
"So Liam looked him up, and found out that Luke too was a Cowell baby" Perrie finished
"Cowell baby? You are full of nicknames" I say "So where is he?"
"Liam said he was seen last next to the London eye" Ed was moving in and out of lanes as if he owned the road.
"That is in London" I tell them
"Catching on, love" Perrie laughed.
I reach for my phone to text Harry, but then remembered I left it behind on my bed.
"Um.. It might be a better idea not to tell Harry where you are just yet" Ed looked at me through the mirror.
"Why's that?" I look up at him
"He might not be too happy about us bringing you along" Parrie said.
"Why would he care? I'm part of your group of freaks now! He should be happy I'm taking part" I would really like to know what goes on inside that head of his.
"Haven't you noticed?" Perrie looked back at me
"Noticed what?" I am really confused. This conversation is jumping from one thing to another making it hard to keep track.
"The way Harry acts with you" Ed said
"Like I'm a two year old, he needs to get over it" I sighed waving them off
"No. He is protective of you" Ed shook his head
"Too protective, did you see the way he looks at her?" Perrie asked him.
"One day you'll find one that looks at you the same way love" Ed petted her knee
"I'm still here mates" I say leaning further in to cut their conversation with my head.
"Anyway the only thing Harry wanted with me is getting me to join. Once he got that I'm old news"
"No, you won't be.. I know Harry, he acts different with you" Ed shook his head again
"How's that?" I challenge him.
"It's like he gravitates towards you- you move he moves, matching your pace" Perrie said.
I lean back in my seat thinking of what she just said. This doesn't make sense to me. If Harry cared for me the way they say he does, he would have never treated me the way he had.
"You needed to see the fit he threw when he found out it was you I met two years ago in Manchester" Ed smiled remembering.
"Tell me about that- please! I want to know why you were there and how you knew to get there" I just realized I don't need a date with Harry to get some answers, I just need to ask these two, they seem more than willing to share.
"Well, It all happen when we found Harry at the hospital" Ed said
"How did you find him?" I jumped in my seat excited I'm finally getting some answers.

3 years ago- Ed POV

"Harry you have friends here" The nurse named Rose smiled into the room she led us to.
Niall Liam and I walked into the room.
"Harry!" Niall ran in with a pained look on his face seeing Harry's state.
"What happen to you mate? You never came to meet us" Liam said
"Obviously- how would he come? Look at him" I say and point to his legs covered with casts
"How did this happen mate?" Niall asked, I felt relaxation take over me, knowing Niall was doing his thing to ease on Harry. But we all knew it won't work, nothing works on him.
"Listen since the accident my talent intensified" Harry looked at us.
"How's that?" Niall eyes went wide
"I can block out the pain" Harry looked as if that wasn't what bothered him
"I have a feeling that is not the reason you asked us to come here" I pulled a chair up to his bed and sat down.
Liam and I grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same school shared the same classes and friends, we were born a few days apart, our mothers sharing the same room at the hospital where they gave birth.
We were not the best of friends. Liam was into all the technical things, when I was more into Arts. What brought us closer was Liam stumbling over me using my gift.
I found out about what I can do when I was 10. About that time I realized I can make people remember things the way I want them to remember. At first I used it for my own benefit making sure my grades where good and sorts. But then one day I realized I can help people with it. That is when Liam found out about me.
We had a girl in school who was constantly bullying younger girls, making fun of them. So I decided to make a difference for those poor girls and put a stop to it. I managed to corner that girl and change her memory, making her remember she looks out for those who need it instead of putting them down. What I didn't realize was that Liam was filming me. He came up to me a few days later showing me what he filmed and telling me he also had a gift. We then looked for reasons why this happened to us and not others. We started looking for kids like us that had impressive talents and learning all we could on them. That is how we found Niall. We read about a boy who volunteered at hospitals easing people's pain and sorrow. Harry found Niall about the same time we did, following the same patterns as us. So we started looking for a reason why we are as we are.
"So Harry, what happened?" Niall repeated my question
"I always knew she was different but now I'm sure" He said
"You lost me lad" Liam shook his head
"This girl- she saved me she picked up the car" Harry was getting excited
"You mean she is super strong?" Niall was confused
"No she didn't even touch it, it was as if she just wanted it to lift and it did"
"Where is she?" I asked him
"She's gone! She vanished.. Her mum is my nurse" Harry nodded towards the door to where the nurses are.
"We must find her before Company X does" Harry continued
"How will we do that?" I asked him.
"First block anything about her family, make it seem as if they moved far away from here"


"How did Company X find out about that?" I asked Ed
"My mum's ex boyfriend" Perrie said
"How?" I didn't understand how Perrie was connected.
"At some point along the way they found me too. Liam was doing for me what they did for your family, not knowing my mum's boyfriend was an Xmen. So one day he came across Liam's laptop that was left on the kitchen counter. Ed had to compel my mum that she broke up with him because he cheated on her and then go after Max, which is when you got in the way"
"He went back to Manchester so I followed him there" Ed confirmed Perrie's story.
"How did you know it was me?" I was fascinated with their story, and what they accomplished by themselves.
"I didn't" Ed's eyes flickered to mine and then back to the road
"I don't understand" I am confused, if Ed hadn't known who I was how did Harry find out?
"Ed…" Perrie warned him.
"No! Tell me please" I beg him not to change his mind.
"I caught him staring at your photo" He said quietly
"A photo of me?" I am speechless. Harry had a photo of me? That made absolutely no sense.
"Now you believe me when I tell you Harry is infatuated with you" Perrie turned in her seat to face me.
"If he was he would have never treated me the way he did" I said stubbornly refusing to acknowledge what they were saying about Harry.
"Listen Liz, Harry is complicated.. He's been through a lot, and he handles things differently than the way most of us would- I am not making any excuses for what he did- what we all did to make you join us but please try to understand where he's coming from" Ed told me gently.
"Thank you for apologizing" I said, feeling better from Ed's words "So you saw the photo and?"
"And I told him you were the girl I bumped into in Manchester, he wasn't happy finding that out so late, he worked very hard on finding you since"
"Ok Lizzie, are you ready?" Perrie cut in
"Ready for what?" She caught me off guard dazed by what Ed said.
"Its game time" She smiled
