Skylar set the tower of paperwork down on her table and let out a frustrated sigh. Rita had handed these over to her after they had attended the meeting and Skylar had run the small errands that the older lady had insisted were urgent. However, Skylar couldn’t comprehend how heading to Starbucks for Rita’s usual latte or grabbing her laundry fell under an ‘urgent’ errand.If that hadn’t been enough, she had come back to the office to find April sorting out the important paperwork in Rita’s office. Just as she had entered, Rita had ordered her to help April out with her duties. The two women had then spent the next one hour shredding and filing documents for the old bat.

Skylar hadn’t given up, however, knowing that a moment of weakness would cost her the job she had grown to love. She was just glad she could work peacefully now that everyone had gone downstairs for lunch. She plopped down on her seat and picked up the first file from the pile.

“Skye!” She raised her head when she heard April’s bubbly voice.

“Skye! What are you doing? You should be downstairs! Why are you up here?”

“Why? What’s wrong?” Skylar shot up from her seat.

“He’s here! Eek!” April clapped her hands in excitement.

“Mr. Styles? He’s here already?” Skylar’s eyes widened as she looked at the pile of paperwork before her. How in the world would she finish these now?

“Yes! Now, come on. Everyone’s downstairs! Mr. Higgins has already started his briefing!”

April grabbed Skylar’s hand and dragged her down the stairs to the main hall where everyone had gathered to hear Paul Higgins out and wait for the chairman’s arrival. April pushed though the crowd, pissing off the others who had gotten there before her.

“So, I hope you all will be at your best behavior while Harry is here and will make us proud!” Paul’s warm voice boomed, calming down Skylar’s nerves to some extent. “He will be with us shortly so I hope everyone looks presentable!”

Skylar watched everyone run a finger through their hair or flatten a crease on their clothes self-consciously. Some women even took out their compacts and lipsticks for a touch-up. Skylar looked down at her drab clothes and wondered why on earth she hadn’t made an effort to look good this morning. Maybe she could sneak to the nearest bathroom before the boss arrived and fix herself a little. However, as soon as the thought popped up, a man came hurrying towards Paul and informing him that the limo had arrived.

Everyone began fussing around with the way they were standing and the level of noise increased. The entire room was hanging in anticipation and as soon as the doorman opened the door and bowed his head in greeting, the noise ceased instantly.

Skylar and April tried to peak over the heads of their fellow colleagues for a glimpse of this notorious boss man but it was becoming more difficult by the minute as people pushed their way to the front.

“Fuck!”

“Well, hello there, gorgeous!”

Skylar heard two girls whisper from the front and knew that he had arrived. Her doubts were confirmed when she heard Paul’s voice boom throughout the hall to greet him, which was quickly followed by a deep voice greeting Paul back with an equal fervor. Skylar stood on her tiptoes in frustration to get a glimpse but cussed mentally when she couldn’t. All the ladies around her were whispering about how gorgeous the man was up-front and it frustrated her even more not being able to see what the fuss was about.

“Holy shit, Skye! He’s a total babe!” April commented, trying to look between two girls’ shoulders.

“Where? I can’t see him!”

“Well, well! Isn’t someone a little too excited?” April chuckled, making Skylar blush for sounding like a hormonal teenager. “Now, don’t be embarrassed, Skye! I’m glad to know that you’re actually a woman. We were beginning to think otherwise what with your nonchalant attitude towards the men here!”

April’s words were like a splash of cold water and Skylar found herself ashamed of her own behavior. She heard Rita greet Harry with a little too much enthusiasm and decided against wanting to see the lady’s expression.

“Mr. Styles, let me introduce you to the entire team!” Rita had probably indicated to the lot of them standing there.

“Sweet baby Jesus! Those dimples!” Skylar heard a girl whisper and fan herself.

“Good afternoon, team!” Skylar heard the deep voice greet, as everyone murmured a good afternoon back.

“Now, I haven’t been able to come to the firm as much as I have visited the other firms. But I’m hoping to get things sorted now that I’m here. I want to get to know each one of you personally and ensure that everything is up to the mark from both your side and mine. So, I hope you will all cooperate with me.”

Harry finished, giving the nervous faces a warm smile to make his words sound less intimidating. He turned to Paul, indicating that he was ready to be taken to his office. Paul ushered him towards the elevators and Harry heard the low murmurs of the employees. They made their way across the hall to the other side and chatted as the elevator came down.

While he was waiting with Paul for the elevators to arrive, he heard Rita’s voice snap out orders. He frowned at the way Rita was addressing the employees and turned to see what exactly she wanted from them. He watched two girls scurrying out of the huge crowd and following Rita as she began heading towards the elevator next to the one he was taking. Harry was about to turn away, however, when his eyes suddenly fell on a blonde head.

She was one of the girls who were following Rita and their eyes locked when she raised her head. Harry’s breath hitched and his body tensed at the sight of her face.

She was absolutely breath-taking.

A/N: Okay! i know you guys will kill me for taking 9 months to update the story but I have a valid reason! I lost my entire story when my laptop was formatted and need to re-write it once again! Please don't hate me! :( This chapter was written in an hour so apologies for all the errors and for making it sucky.
