Does He Know?
(Chapter two)
Annabelle's P.O.V:
I was laying down in the hospital couch as I read my book and listened to music. Aunt Emily was asleep, since she took sleeping pills to help her sleep. Jadyn went home, her mom needed help decorating the Christmas tree they have at their house. Oh, that reminds me, I have to Christmas shopping. Great. I stood up from the couch and put my coat on, shoes and bag. With that, I left.
I think I got my paycheck yesterday, so, this will be easy. I work in a bookstore, as cheap as it sounds, it pays well. Not yet do I have a home of my own but, it really helps my me and aunt out, so it's something.
"Belle!" I heard someone scream behind me.
No one knows me in this hospital...?
I turned my head to see my boyfriend, Adam. My lips turned into a smile as he leaned up and kissed me.
"Just got off work. Thought I might pay a visit?' He said as we pulled away.
"Well, I was just leaving. I need to go Christmas shopping."
"Can I come?" He said, with puppy eyes.
I giggled and nodded. When we got to the elevator he pushed the top button and we waited. He smirked and turned to face me. Then, he pulled me into a passionately kiss for a few moments, then we heard a ding. I pulled away.
"Hello... Belle, was it?" Dr. Styles said, confused. I went into the elevator, Adam behind me.
"Yeah..."
"What does it stand for? Isabella? Christabelle?" He asked as the elevator moved.
"It's for Annabelle."
"That's a beautiful name." He smiled as our eyes met again. My cheeks turned red. I heard someone clear their throat, making our gaze drop.
"Oh. Who's this? Your brother?" Dr.Styles said to Adam. Shit! I forgot he was here.
"No, I'm her boyfriend." Adam said as his jaw clenched.
He's jealous. Ugh. On some guys, it's cute, some not. He's one of the ones that are not.
"Oh, well, nice to meet you." He said as he took his hand to shake. But Adam didn't take it.
"Why would you think I'm her brother when you saw me sucking on her face when the elevators opened?" Adam questioned, pissed off.
"Adam, just drop it. It's fine." I said trying to calm him down.
"And don't you think you can go ahead and make googly eyes at her. Look at you! You're like what, 11 years old than her!" Adam said. Yeah, he's pissed off. "Fucking perv!"
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you in any way." Dr. Styles said as he left the elevator.
Adam then turned to me with anger in his eyes. He pushed me against the elevator wall till our bodies touched.
I shut my eyes, scared of what might happen next.
"Look at me!" He yelled. I opened my eyes to see him with anger still in his eyes.
"You're mine and only mine. Got it?' He said as he leaned up and kissed me roughly, but I pulled away.
"Is he the reason we haven't had sex in 3 months?" He questioned.
"I-I just don't feel good down there." I said trying to make up a lie. Truth is, he's really rough at sex and it hurts like hell. No pleasure. Just pain. He pulled away and looked at me.
"Did you get yourself checked?" He asked his face softening.
"I haven't had time with work and my aunt." He nodded. The elevators opened and we were off.
"I remember when I use to cry like that." I said as I pointed at the little girl who was crying her head off as she sat on Santa's lap.
"Yeah, I remember seeing the pictures.... waaaaaaaaaaaaa!" Adam said, making a baby voice.
"Hey, I was 2! I didn't know what the hell I was doing on a stranger's lap." I giggled.
"Yeah, weren't we all there? Come on. Let's go and wrap the presents." He said as he took all the bags.
"Did you buy something for me?" He asked as I opened the mall door.
"I already saw what I was gonna buy for you... I'll come back later and get it." I said as we enter the London cold air.
"Is it that Victoria Secret Lingerie?" He asked.
Nope.
"You'll see."
