*One Month Later*
Riley's P.O.V
"Another." Harry says opening his mouth wide. I aim carefully then launch the grape in his mouth again. We've been sitting at the kitchen table half doing homework and half fooling around. Ever since I told Harry everything our friendship has grown stronger and stronger. I still have feelings for him but I've pushed them completely aside so I don't ruin this. I watch the smile on his face grow as he chews his grape. "Alrite I think if I do one more math problem my brain will explode." He says closing his book.
I chuckle and close my book as well. "Well we got most of it done which is good, we still have another day to do it since Mr.T won't be in tomorrow. What do you want to do?" I ask taking the grapes and putting them back in the fridge.
"Is napping an option?" He asks. I turn around and his eyes are closed. This guy can sleep for days if anyone let him.
I creep over to him and get close, holding my breath so he doesn't know I'm there. After a minute of silence I shake his shoulders and yell "Never!" In his ear. He jumps and falls off his seat and I am on the floor laughing.
"Oh you're gunna regret that!" He says getting up. I scramble up and run for it, straight out to my backyard. When I turn Harry is nowhere in sight. This cannot be good.
I slowly walk back into the house checking around every corner. "Harry?" I say as I make my way back to the kitchen. Where in the world did he go? "Haaaarryyyyyy?" I call again. I walk towards the living room and still no sign of him. As I'm about to walk up the stairs I hear a bang on a wall and muffled noises. I run to the dining room where I could have sworn the noise came from but he wasn't there either. "Alrite Styles you win. You are the epic master of hide and seek can you ple- AAAAH" as I'm finishing my sentence he grabs me from behind and throws me over his shoulder. "Ok ok put me down you big ape!" I yell, pounding on his back. He chuckles and the vibrations tickle. I giggle too.
"We're going to the park." He says. I laugh at the fact that he is literally carrying me through the house.
"I need sh-" I'm about to tell him I need shoes when he leans down and grabs my shoes from the stairs. "Well okay then." I say laughing. "My bag!" I yell and he makes a bee line for the kitchen grabbing my bag and then walking out the door. I hand him my keys and he locks the door and walks over to his car. He finally places me down in front of the passenger door. "Well I never." I say giggling.
His smile is so wide it looks like it hurts his face. "Well that was fun." He says laughing.
Turns out we were meeting up with everyone at the park. When we get there Niall and Louis are playing football while Liam and Zayn hang with the girls on a blanket by a tree. I run over and plop myself on top of Danielle.
"Bloody hell Riley!" Danielle grunts as we all laugh. I roll off of her and onto the blanket.
"Hiiii!" I yell and the girls cover their ears while the boys shake their hands and laugh.
"Someone is in a good mood." Liam says laughing. "What have you two been up two?" He says raising an eyebrow at Harry. My eyes go wide and Harry punches him in the arm. Liam throws his arms up in surrender while everyone laughs.
The boys launch into a conversation about football or something while El and Perrie gush to me about guys they want to set me up with.
"He is perfect for you Riley! He's got deep blue eyes and light brown hair, he's tall which is good because you're like a giant!" El says. I gasp and put my hand to my heart. "You know what I mean, you're just taller than most girls." She defends.
"He's super funny too." Perrie adds. "The only thing is, he's not very bright." She says.
I roll my eyes and cover my hands with my face. I've told them hundreds of times that I don't need help finding a guy. Mainly because I have one but he happens to be my best friend. "Girls, I appreciate the efforts but I really don't need a boyfriend right now." I say.
"Yea, plus no one is good enough for her anyway." I hear Harry chime in. Has he been listening the whole time? I look at him and his face is quite serious. What's come over him.
"Oh piss off Harry, no one asked for your opinion." Perrie says waving a hand to him.
Zayn mumbles something and Liam busts into a fit of laughter while Harry tackles Zayn. All of the girls giggle at their rough housing and Louis runs over.
"OH DOG PILE!" He yells jumping on Harry. Harry lets out a grunt and Niall jumps in as well. Liam laughs and scrambles up to finish it off. Somehow Harry ended up on the bottom so they are all now on top of him.
"Alright!" Harry tries to yell but he's barely heard above the roar of laughter. "I can't breathe! Get your fat arses off of me!" He says trying to push the boys off. Liam gives in and gets off but the other boys aren't giving up.
"We love you Harry, this is just a love pile." Niall says making everyone including Harry laugh.
"I love you too Nialler. Can you please get off now?" He begs one more time And Niall finally gives in and him and the other boys get off. Harry takes a deep breath and rolls over to me and lays on my lap. "They squished my bones, I can't get up." He whines. I giggle at him and move some curls out of his face and take a couple of leaves out of his hair.
"Well technically you started it." I tell him.
He makes a scrunched up angry face and he looks exactly like he did when we were kids. "Who's side are you on here?" He huffs crossing his arms.
Its moments like these that I wish I could just kiss him. I'd kiss his forehead wrinkles then his nose then his soft rose colored lips. Hiding my true emotions I poke him in the side and tell him "The right side."
"Great so my side then!" He says smiling. I laugh and shake my head but he's closed his eyes so he can't see my disagreement.
"Hey guys I just got a text from Julia the girl in my chem class and she said she's having a party at her house. Wanna go?" Danielle asks.
I think for a moment and decide why not. "Sure I'm up for it, as long as I don't have to babysit a certain someone." I say poking Harry in the cheek. He laughs and so does Zayn and Liam.
"Haz was a bit of a handful that night." Zayn said. Harry throws a stick at him earning a chuckle from Zayn.
"LETS DO IT!" Niall says.
Looks like we're going to another party. Whoopee.

Harry's P.O.V
Ive decided not to drink too much tonight for Riley's sake because apparently I was a piss drunk at the last party so I figured I'd play babysitter tonight. I'm sitting in the corner watching as Riley and Perrie dance and I have to say its pretty hot. I didn't know Riley could dance but holy hell can she move. For the past month it's taken everything in me not to make a move on her, I think she's comfortable with our friendship so I don't want to ruin it and make it awkward. As I'm continuing to watch them a guy walks over to her and whispers something in her ear making her giggle. She turns begins grinding on him which makes me sick to my stomach.
"Hey mate, if you hold that glass any tighter it'll probably shatter." Liam tells me. I hadn't realized that I had been strangling the bottle. I release my grip a little. "You alrite?" He asks, following my gaze to the dance floor. "Ah. Well, you do realize that since you two aren't dating then she's available right?" He says putting a hand on my shoulder.
I clench my jaw and take a deep breath. "Yes I realize that." I say through gritted teeth. I take another deep breath and shake my head. "That doesn't mean I'm okay with it." I admit, a little calmer. Just then she turns around and starts making out with the guy. I immediately stand up but Liam keeps me from storming over.
"Woah Haz take it easy." He says but I can't. He can't be kissing her, she can't be kissing him. I should be the one doing that. I break free from Liam's grip and start to walk over. I hear Liam call me back but I ignore him.
I reach the guy and pull him off of Riley. I push him back a few steps and stand in front of her. "Keep your hands off of her." I warn him. I feel Riley grab my arm, I look down at her and can see the drunken confusion on her face.
"Harry what are you doing?" She slurs. I knit my eyebrows together and turn my gaze back to the angry drunk guy.
"Protecting you from this drunk asshole." I explain to her. The guy comes walking towards me and gets directly into my face.
"What'd you say to me?!?!" He yells, clenching his jaw. This guy is actually pretty big so he can probably kick my ass but right now all I care about is the fact that he was just all over Riley.
"Harry stop! It wasn't anything serious, it was just a kiss stop ruining my fun." Riley says stomping and crossing her arms. She looks like a little kid again. I am distracted in her childlike pout that I am taken by surprise when I'm grabbed.
"Yea, stop ruining her fun pretty boy." He says, I can smell the alcohol in his breath and it's pretty revolting.
"Hey now how about we just take it easy. It's no big deal mate, we'll leave you be." I hear Liam say as he steps between me and the drunken bastard.
"Harry you suck!" Riley huffs as she wobbles off to the kitchen. Ugh great.
Liam manages to make the guy back off and he pulls me away and to the kitchen where the girls just fled to. We walk in and they're all doing shots and laughing. Well that was a mood flip.
I walk in and stand next to Riley who leans up against me. "Hi there." I say smiling at her
She giggles and looks deep into my eyes. "You know, you're kinda really hot. It sucks that you're my best friend." She slurs. I can't help but laugh at her admittance.
"Thanks I guess?" I reply. She giggles and continues talking to the girls. We all stay in there for a while just chatting the night away.
"I really gotta WIZZ, I'll be right back." I call out. It takes me about 10 minutes to find a bathroom that isn't occupied. By the time I get back to the kitchen Riley is gone again. Calm down Harry, she isn't yours, you are her best friend not her boyfriend. I sit at the stool and have another beer, I didn't even finish the first one. Twenty minutes later in walks Riley with another guy.
"Here, now you have no choice but to call me." The guy says handing her the phone. She giggles and puts the phone away. She pulls him down for a kiss and they stand against the wall making out for a while.
"ALRIGHT TIME TO GO!" I declare once I've seen enough. She pushes the guy away smiling and then a drag her out of the house.
"THAT WAS HIM HARRY!" She yells as I help her to the car. What is she talking about? "Thats the guy that Perrie and El hooked me up with. He's hooooot!" She slurs. I roll my eyes. I get her buckled in and shut the door. I run both my hands through my hair and walk around to the drivers side. "Harry whats wrong?" She asks through half closed eyes.
I take a minute to calm down so I don't yell at her. Maybe I should just tell her. It's not like she'll remember right? She's pretty drunk. No, I can't risk it. "Nothing Ri, I just wanna get you home. It's late and you're gunna have one hell of a hangover at school tomorrow." I tell her. She nods her head and leans on my shoulder. Halfway to my house she is knocked out. I start to think out loud. "Oh Riley if only you knew how I really feel about you. I don't want to be friends with you, I want to be with you, I want to be able to call you mine..... I love you." I take a deep breath and park in my driveway. I walk to the other side and pick Riley up and bring her inside, I'll text her parents from her phone and say she's sleeping at El's.
Once I have her in my bed and in one of my shirts and shorts I strip down and lay in bed with her. She begins to stir and winds up with her head on my chest. I begin to play with her hair, unable to sleep. A few minutes later she wakes up and looks at me. "Hey, sorry did I wake you?" I whisper.
She shakes her head. "Harry I have to tell you something." She whispers. She motions for me to come closer so I do. She stares at me for a minute the surprises me when she kisses me. It's a soft sweet kiss, like the kiss we shared so many years ago in the tree fort. She pulls away and smiles "hi." She says giggling quietly. I smile down at her and she lays her head back down.
Well that was interesting. Guess that will hold me over until I figure out how to actually kiss her and finally make her mine.
