The Plan ~Louis Tomlinson FanFic~

Chiefs

Chapter 2

Louis POV

Casper. I can't get her off my mind. She was so interesting. So unique. I wanted to spend hours listening to her talk about her travels. About her childhood and school. She was like a match. Just a match at first but once you spark it, it's a wonder that you can't help but like. I sat, endlessly waiting for my phone to ring or at least buzz with a text.

It's been two hours since I got back from the beach. Dover laying at the foot of my bed, snoozing. Me, patently staring at the ceiling thinking about her. Casper. Her name was unusual but fit her. I thought about her brown hair, how it turns a light brown at the ends and how the water clung to it. It shaped her little pale face. Oh she was so beautiful. Her big brown eyes, and when she smiled little crinkles formed at the corner. That smile of hers, too. It was cute how she had only one dimple. What if I never see her again? What if she never calls? What if, what if, what if... How could this happen? You only just met her, Louis! You think about her as if she's yours. She hasn't even called you. I heard footsteps patter in the hall and my door click open.

"Lou?" My mom called out. I pushed myself up and set my phone on the side table.

"Yeah mum?"

She didn't come in but leaned against the frame. "What are you doing up here?” She crossed her arms casually.

"I don't have anything else to do." I shrugged and brought my knees to my chest.

“Well, Harry's here."

I stood up and stretched out my arms. "Ugh. Of course he is." I joked.

She chuckled, "You're telling me."

We both made our way downstairs. I found Harry in the kitchen, rummaging through the fridge. He turned around when he heard us enter. From his mouth hung a piece of cheese. "Louis!" He shoved the cheese in his mouth real fast. "Niall wants to know if you want to go to Chiefs." Chiefs was a dinner in town where we usually hang out on the weekends.

"Yeah, sure. I have to change first though." I had on my sweats still from earlier.

"Yeah, you do that." Harry said as he shoved another piece of cheese into his mouth. My mom rolled her eyes, walked over to the fridge and shut it before Harry could take anymore of our food. He shrugged apologetically, like a little kid. My mom shook her head at him and laughed.

Casper's POV

"Honey, how are you doing?" My moms voice asked through the phone.

"I'm fine. Just got done eating the salad." I held the phone between my shoulder and ear as I washed the dishes.

"I have to close tonight so I won't be home for a while." She sounded tired.

"Okay. I'll just be here."

"Don't wait up for me. Just leave the light on outside." She explained.

"Okay I love you."

"Love you too Hun. Bye."

After I hung up, I went to go take my shower and watch a movie. I snuggled up on the couch with my favorite throw blanket and chose a movie. It was some sappy love story about a girl who travels to a city, falls in love with a guy and when it comes time to leave she chooses the guy to stay with. How miraculous? But it seemed I couldn't fully pay attention.

Louis kept popping up in my mind. His smile. His eyes. My hands tingled with the needing to draw him. Put him into the image of the beach I drew earlier. If only I had a way to- wait. I have his number, right? I hurriedly grabbed my phone and scrolled through the contacts. His name was "Beach Boy", I couldn't help but let out a little laugh. Should I call him? Would he answer? Oh my god, why is my stomach doing this. I tapped on the call icon, my hands shook incredibly. It rang once.... Twice... Three times.

"Hello?" A familiar voice asked eagerly.

"Hey, is this Louis?" I asked shakily.

"Casper?!" I could just imagine Louis face smiling like crazy.

"Hey!" I laughed.

"Oh my god I thought I'd never talk to again! I was waiting forever! What's up? Hey want to meet up? Could you?" He rambled on.

"I'm sorry but I have to stay home tonight. Where did you want to meet up at?" I played with a piece of my hair as I spoke.

"Me and my friends were going to head down to Chiefs downtown. Hang out there for a while."

"My mom works at Chiefs. She owns it, actually." I added discreetly.

"No way. I love that place."

"It was my moms dream to open it up. She let me come up with the name when I was little." I sprawled out on the couch so I was staring at the ceiling.

"How did you come up with Chiefs?" He asked.

"Well, when I was 6, my mom and dad took me to America. We stayed with some family in Kansas. Me and my dad shared the same love for sports. One day he took me out, just me and him, to go see an American football game. It was Chiefs against Redskins. It was the coolest thing ever, to me then. He bought me a t shirt and a foam finger. We ate Carmel popcorn and gave our selves sugar comas with cotton candy. I remember passing out as my dad told me a story how his father did the same with him. I guess it just stuck with me. My mom opened a restaurant that's going to be passed on just like the Chief game tradition." Louis remained quiet a second before saying something.

"I don't think I can look at chiefs the same anymore." He chuckled lightly.

"When are you supposed to leave?" I asked.

"Im supposed to be getting ready right now. Change out of my sweats. My friends probably wondering what's taking so long. I'm just laying on my bed." He let out a long sigh.

"Oh my god, get ready! Are you mad?! Letting me ramble on and on."

"I like you storied though." He said seriously.

I felt the knot in my stomach tighten. "We have a lot of time. Just... Just call me later."

He huffed. "I wish I didn't agree to go now." I could just imagine his pouty face.

"Well, you did so go." I pushed. I flipped the blanket off me and stretched my arms out.

"Fine, I'll call you later. Goodbye, Casper."

"Bye, Louis." And he clicked off.

Louis POV

Chiefs was packed when we walked in. It was a small pub looking restaurant with a wooden bar running along the side where regulars sat drinking beer and watching football as it played across the screen in the corner. The other side of the room had booths timing the walls. Posters of all sorts clung to the walls. I never really payed attention to what the posters actually were but now I studied them. Some of them are paintings, beautiful life like paintings. Some of them were attraction posters like beach parties and festivals. It was weird how I never noticed all these before.

Niall was seated in the corner booth waiting for me and Harry. "Aye mate! Where you've been?!" Niall smiled brightly. It was almost impossible to never see him smile.

"Louis, here, took forever to "change"." Harry slid into the booth and air quoted change with his fingers.

"I had to take a phone call." I explained as I slid in next to Harry on the edge.

"With who?" Niall questioned, lifting one of his eyebrows.

"It doesn't matter." I shrugged, leaning against the table with my elbows.

I saw Harry turn quickly towards me. "Who was it?" He questioned with a swift smile.

"Some girl I met earlier." I ran my fingers through my hair real quick and leaned against the back of the booth.

"What's her name?" Niall asked. He was leaning against the table with his hands entwined.

"Casper", I stated.

"That's a weird name." Harry muttered.

"It's a cool name." Niall said quickly.

"So what is it?" Harry said, he flicked his hair out of his face and looked at me.

"What do you mean?" I questioned.

"Do you want her?" He asked straight forward. Did I want her? What kind of question is that? She's not a piece of meat. I didn't WANT her. Yeah, sure, she's interesting. She's cool and pretty. But she's not just an object that I want. I just sat there for a second with my forehead squished together. "Yeah." Was all I said.

"Mate." Harry leaned back. "Really?"

"What? I didn't expect to feel like this. I didn't expect this to happen. It might just be nothing. But I don't know." I explained.

"How do you feel?" Niall asked.

"I don't know..." I muttered.

"All I-" just then the waitress came up and gave us menus. Harry let out an annoyed sigh and Niall smiled up at the waitress. I'm thankful she came up at the time she did because I didn't really want to talk about this to anyone right now.

I just... I don't know what I want. No, not want. I'm not sure what I need in my life right now. Did I need Casper? I don't know but all I know is that I needed to talk to her. Fuck being here with them. I wanted to be sitting across from Casper and her beautiful brown hair and brown eyes. To hear her voice... DO YOU HEAR YOURSELF MATE?! You only just met her! She might not even like you... What if she doesn't want to sit across from you? But across from some one else? Oh my god, what she already has someone else? I never thought about that...

"Louis!" Harry snapped. I didn't realize the lady was talking to me. I smiled apologetically up at her.

"I'll just have a water for now." I flipped open the menu and removed Casper from my mind. For now.

Casper's POV

I lay in my bed, propped up against my headboard sketching in my notebook. I doodle with nothing really in mind. My music turned on full volume and nothing to think about but nothing. The first thing that popped up in my mind was a tree.

I sketched out a wicked tree in the center of the paper. I began to draw one side as a bare, rugged tree then as you looked over it turns into a fully bloomed tree with fluffy grass a sun. The next thing I drew was a person. A person with no features, no face, no gender. Then I added in hair. Next, a nose. And eyes. I added in crinkles next to the eyes and laugh lines next to his mouth. I didn't realize what, or rather who, I was drawing. I shaded in areas that needed it and added in small little browns in his hair. I was done before I knew it. I picked up the notebook and finally took a look at what I drew.

It was Louis.

I dropped the book on my bed. "Really?" I said to myself. I folded the book close and threw it on my chair in the corner of my room. It didn't make sense to me at all. I just met him. I don't know him. Yet I feel like I've known him forever. I feel like I need him. He's all that's played in my mind, like a broken record.

"Ugh." I moaned, throwing myself back and planting a pillow over my face. I don't know what to do. I need to sleep and just stop thinking about him
