Fix Me

Chapter 20

*Two weeks later*

Lana's POV

"Are you ready yet?" Harry whines from the living room. I roll my eyes and get my purse from the hook behind the door. "The mall is probably closed by now."

"Just because it takes you five seconds to get ready, doesn't mean the same is true for me," I say to him, exiting my room.

"Yeah, but not everyone can be as hot as me," he says smugly, smirking at me from his position on the couch.

"Yeah, you're a catch," I say sarcastically, rolling my eyes. I have to admit, Harry does look pretty good. The all black thing definitely words for him.

"There are going to be a lot of guys at the mall thinking otherwise," he says, standing and making his way over to me. "Is that what you're wearing?"

"Yes. Why? What's wrong with it?" I ask, looking down at my outfit. I fiddle with the ties of my shirt as he comes closer. I know my stomach is showing a bit, but it's not that bad, is it?

"There's nothing wrong with it. That's the problem," he says softly, putting his hands on my waist and pushing me back into my bedroom. He continues forcing me backwards until the back of my legs hit the bed, knocking me backwards. "I don't like the idea of every guy we pass gawking at you." He crawls onto the bed, one leg on either side of me, forcing me to lay down.

"Well that shouldn't bother you," I say quietly, trying to control my breathing while he leans down closer to my face, one hand on either side of my face.

"It does."

"Why's that?"

He raises any eyebrow. "Do I need to spell it out for you?"

"Spell what out?"

"Well," he says, trailing the tip of his finger along the exposed skin on my stomach, "I don't know if you knew this, but I sort of like you."

I widen my eyes in shock. "What?" He nods. "Well, this is awkward."

"Why?" he asks, eyebrows pulling together in confusion.

"Well, I sort of have a date tonight."

"Oh really?" I nod and give him a sympathetic look. "Is he cute?" he asks, sitting on my waist and folding his arms across his chest.

"Very."

"Hmm. Is he big?"

"I don't see how that's any of your business."

He rolls his eyes and smirks at me. "Get your mind out of the gutter, Forester. Not what I meant."

"Oh. What did you mean?"

"Could I take him?"

I chuckle and push myself up on my elbows. "Oh, I don't know about that. He's in a gang."

His eyes go wide for a second. "That's a bad idea. Those are bad characters."

"I think I'll take my chances."

"Okay, I know this was supposed to be funny, but now you're kind of freaking me out."

I laugh and fist the front of his tshirt, pulling him back down. "If I kiss you, will you forgive me?"

"Maybe." I raise an eyebrow. "If you kiss me and agree to change."

"I'm not changing."

"Okay, it better be one hell of a kiss then."

I smile and pull him the rest of the way down. Harry and I have been spending all of our time together for the last two weeks. We still aren't together, but it feels like it. He hasn't brought it up at all, but I know it's been bugging him He's been insanely patient with me. I've completely forgiven him and I'm not mad at all, but I don't know how ready I am to get back together officially. I know it will happen eventually, but I'm determined to take it slow. It's not exactly easy, though....he's insanely hot and a really good kisser...but it's been two weeks and I haven't slept with anyone since the night he left. So yeah, I'm going a little insane. And by a little I mean a lot.

His lips trail down my jaw, finding the sweet spot below my ear he remembers all too well. He remembers all those special little spots without fail. Hasn't made anything easier.

"Harry," I breathe, putting my hands on his arms. He hums against my neck in response. "We should go before the mall actually closes."

His lips fall away from my neck, head falling against my shoulder. We're both still breathing heavy when he lifts it to look at me.

"Are you sure you want to go?" he asks softly, caressing my cheek with the back of his hand. "Because I mean...we could always just stay here."

"That's tempting, but I'm going home for my Dad's birthday next weekend, and I won't have any time to get his present this week. I have two papers due and a test."

"Stop, you're turning me on," he jokes. I roll my eyes and push him off of me. He laughs and lays down on his back, lacing his fingers together behind his head and lifting one of his feet onto the bed and bending it.

I walk to the door and waves for him to come. "Let's go, Styles. Up and at'em."

"Yeah, I'm going to need a minute." Oh. That. I smile and walk back over to the bed, throwing my leg over him and sitting on his stomach. He keeps his hands where they are behind his head. "This isn't helping the situation."

"What situation?"

"You're awfully clueless today."

I giggle and lean down to kiss him quickly, then climb off the bed and walk out of the room. "I'll just wait out here 'til you're calmed down."

"Oh, so now you want to go," he calls after me. I'm about to throw myself onto the couch when Niall lets himself in.

"Hey, Niall. What's up?"

"Nothing. I was bored so I figured I'd come down and see what you were doing. Also, where's Harry?"

I raises my eyebrows at him, a smile creeping onto my face. "Is that a serious question?"

"He's here?"

"Yeah."

"Of course he is. Where is he?"

"In my room."

His face twists slightly. "Oh, sorry. I'll go."

"No! No, not because of that." Relief takes over his features and he walks into the kitchen, getting a can of pepsi for himself. "You didn't have to work today?"

"No, I get Saturdays off now. Where's Lou?"

"I'm not sure. El had to work today, so they aren't together. Wait, weren't you guys going to go to that furniture place today?"

"I thought so. He was gone before I got up, though."

"That's weird."

"Hey Niall." I turn and smile at Harry, who has finally emerged from my bedroom. He winks at me and walks past both of us, taking a bottle of water. "Lan, you want to go?"

"Yeah, just let me get my bag." I turn and walk to my bedroom, looking around to find where my purse fell earlier. I turn and see Harry and Niall talking in the kitchen, voices too low for me to hear. They look they're arguing, but I can't hear what they're saying. Niall sees me getting closer and stops talking. Harry turns as well, smiling. Niall looks uncomfortable.

"Let's go," Harry says, holding his hand out to me. I walk up beside him and take his hand.

"Niall, do you want to come with us?" Harry squeezes my hand and I meet his gaze. He looks annoyed.

"Don't worry about it. You guys go," Niall says, backing away from us.

"Come on, you're bored. Just come!"

He looks at Harry for a few seconds, then shrugs and smiles at me. "Why not. I'll drive."

Harry's POV

Seriously? Lana just had to invite Niall, of course. She is so oblivious. He hasn't admitted it yet, but I know Niall is into her. It's so obvious. Louis says he agrees he's been acting weird lately, but he doesn't think it's possible for him to like her like that. How is it not? Lana's amazing. She's perfect. I wouldn't blame him for developing feelings for her. I just wish he would stop being so like...subtle about it. Just tell her and let her shoot him down and be done with it. This whole thing is slightly tainting this whole getting back together process.

Wow I'm a girl.

We all walk down to Niall's car. Lana sits in the front with him, of course. Damn. I should have insisted on driving. He probably has a whole plan to squeeze me out. Niall is my best friend. How could he be doing this?

When we get to the mall Niall's mood is ten times better. Why wouldn't it be? He spend the whole drive joking around with my girlfriend. Well, technically she isn't my girlfriend, but still. She might as well be. It's crazy how close they've actually gotten. They talk about everything, laughing and joking like they've been friends their whole lives. I don't like it.

Lana suddenly takes my hand, giving it a light squeeze. I look down at her and she smiles at me, giving me a sort of reassuring look. I just look forward again, not really reacting. Yeah, probably a dick move, but I'm kind of rattled. I wanted to shop with her. Not her and Niall.

"So, what are you getting for your dad?" Niall asks.

"I don't know. He said he didn't want anything, and I can't afford much anyway. I figured I'd just get him a sweater and maybe something for his car."

"Something for his car?"

"Yeah, he's kind of a neat-freak when it comes to his car. So I was thinking maybe some cleaning stuff for the inside and some soap and wax for the surface."

"That's a good idea," Niall compliments.

"Why thank you. Oh, let's go in here! They have the nicest clothes for men." Lana pulls my hand and darts into the store. Niall holds back.

"I'm just going to get something to eat quickly. I'll meet you guys back here." He eyes me for a minute before heading towards the food court. Lana has let go of my hand in the process and when I turn around, I almost collide with her. She's standing with her arms crossed, not looking happy.

"What is your problem?" she asks me.

"Don't have one," I say simply, walking past her and looking through the clothes on the rack behind her.

"Harry, you're a horrible liar."

"I'm not lying."

She sighs and puts her hand on my arm. "Harry, come on." I stop and turn to look at her. "Are you mad at Niall or something?"

"Nope."

"Okay, if you don't start talking someone's going to get hurt. And by someone, I mean you."

I can't help but smile at her sass. She's adorable when she's trying to be tough. "I'm fine, don't worry about it."

"Liar."

"Lana."

"Harry."

"Alright, fine. I don't like it when you hang out with him. There."

She raises her eyebrows, surprised by my answer. "What?"

"Niall. He likes you. I know you don't think so and you think I'm being ridiculous, but it's true."

She rolls her eyes and starts looking through the clothes on rack I was just looking at. "Harry, you need to stop this. Niall and I are just friends, and that isn't going to change any time soon. So you need to just let this go, okay?"

"Just let it go?" She nods and I stand there for a minute, dumbfounded. What the hell. "Are you serious right now? He's one of my best friends and he's into you! How is that not supposed to bother me?"

"But he't not!"

"Are you seriously that blind?"

She turns back to me and puts a hand on her hip. Why does she have to look so damn hot. It makes it hard to argue with her. "Excuse me?"

"Lan, there are so many hints. Except hints would be the wrong word because he's about as subtle as a gun. How can you not see it?"

"Harry, I'm done talking about this. Let it go or just go home." She brushes past me and walks to the next rack.

"Fine." We stare at each other for a minute before I turn and walk out of the store. Niall is on his way back in.

"Where are you going?" he asks as I walk past him.

"Home. Have fun. Try not to hit on her too much," I say, glaring before I turn back around and walk out of the mall. He calls after me once, sounding a little confused. I ignore him and keep walking. I'm not over reacting am I? I just don't get it. Niall knows exactly what's been going on, so he has no excuse for attempting to move in on her. He just needs to back off.

Lana's POV

"Is everything okay?" Niall asks, coming into the store as I'm picking out a sweater.

"Everything's great," I say, smiling sarcastically at him. He raises his eyebrows and puts a french fry in his mouth.

"Okay then. I'll just pretend Harry didn't storm out then."

"He was just being dramatic. Do you like the red one or this blue one?" I ask, holding them both up. He points to the red one. "Yeah, me too." I pay for it and we make our way to the department store to get the stuff for the car. I'm being quiet now, and Niall seems to be okay with that. The nice thing about my friendship with Niall is that it's never uncomfortable. I love that. We don't have to be talking all the time.

"No, you don't want to get that one," he says suddenly, taking the bottle of car soap out of my hands. He looks through the bottles on the rack and picks out a few things for me, handing me bottles as he goes. "That should do it. Do you need anything else?"

"No, this should be okay. I'll pay for it and we can go home." He nods and we walk to the cash. I'm eager to go back now. Harry and I have the stupidest arguments sometimes. We both get so heated for no reason. Maybe that's the way love is? Like Noah and Allie.

Wow I'm such a girl.

When we get back to the apartment Niall says he's going to go back to his place. Obviously he knows Harry and I are fighting, it's not hard to figure it out. I just hope he doesn't know why. Harry is just being ridiculous. I walk through the door, which is unlocked to my surprise. I stop when I see Harry and Eleanor sitting on the couch. Both of them turn to look at me. Harry and I just stare at each other, but I can see El's head turning slightly a few times, looking back and forth between us. She suddenly pats Harry's shoulder and walks to her room without a word. I shut the door and make my way over, dumping my bags on the kitchen table.

Harry suddenly gets up and walks over to me, wrapping me in a tight hug. After a few seconds I return it, surprised by his actions. I don't really know what's happening.

"I'm sorry," he says quietly. "I was being dramatic and stupid."

"Yeah."

He chuckles and pulls back a little so he can see my face. "If you're convinced that this is something I don't need to worry about, then I believe you."

I reach up and put my hands on either side of his face. "Harry, even if for some reason Niall did like me, you wouldn't have anything to worry about. I haven't been able to move on so far, why would I now when I finally have you back?"

His face lights up with the biggest smile I've ever seen, dimples and all. "You mean it?"

"No, I'm lying." He frowns dramatically, sticking his bottom lip out slightly in a pout. "You're so cute." He smiles again and leans down to kiss me quickly.

"Want to get some Chinese for dinner?" he asks, pulling out his phone.

I nod and he orders it. I love how normal we are. It's like he never left, and I love it. We're just...us. I could not be happier.
