Listening to Niall

"I still can't believe you won't let me talk him out of this bet" I tell Niall and Eleanor. We are all gathered in my grandma's living room drinking tea.
"Why? This could be a taste of her own medicine" Niall smiled evilly
"What is this?" Oliver looked at us with interest
"Louis had a bet with Liam, he's making him take Ariel out on a date" I say glancing at him for just a moment and then back to my friends "That is mean"
"Who is Ariel?" Daniel and Josh asked together
"This really mean girl from Jamie's class.. It won't be mean.. only a little joke on her expense" Niall said.
"I'm torn.. I really want her to pay for her rude comments but then again Jamie might be right" Eleanor started seeing reason finally.
"Jamie is always right" Oliver chuckled.
"Remember that time we wanted to put some bubble bath soap into the hot tub?" Daniel grins with memory.
"That would create a massive amount of bubbles" Jamie his girlfriend pointed out
"Exactly" Josh smiled and high fived Daniel.
"Then why do that? You'll need to empty it after" Eleanor was confused
"Well we didn't want to do it in our hot tub- we wanted to do it at the hotel we were staying at" Josh explained
"That is sick" Niall chuckled "We should try that"
"No that is mean" I tell him
"Yeah Jamie stopped them saying it's not nice" Oliver nodded towards me.
"Like that time when we graduated and the boys in class wanted to put gold fish in the schools pool, Jamie stopped them too" El added
"Because that is mean- they'll die straight away"
"Really Jamie you care about the gold fish?" Josh is amused
"Jamie was always the smart one ha?" Niall hugged my shoulders
"Remember when I used to be the smart one?" Daniel said
"No!" Oliver Eleanor and I shouted out together making everyone laugh.
"Again he's on about being the smartest?" My dad joined in.
"Yes Ilai! You really need to do something about your son and his delusions" Emma said. She was quiet until now. Sitting on the side lines of the group. I have a feeling Oliver told her off since she kept a distance from Niall today. Niall himself didn't pay any attention to her other then greeting her when he first came in.
"Right I am smart?" Daniel was looking for his girlfriend's support.
"Yes love in your own way" she petted his cheek, but shook her head at us as if saying 'let him believe what he wants'. At least she knows what she’s in for.
"Who's listening to music??" My grandma yelled when Josh's phone went off. "This is a mourning home. No music allowed" she shook her finger at us.
"Gran it's just my phone" Josh told her before answering.
"That isn't a phone ring that is a song! Music" she is holding to her own.
"Yeah but that is a phone ring mum" Lucie stood up for us.
"Well I don't like it" grandma folded her hands on her lap.
Lisa rolled her eyes telling us to ignore her. Eleanor was giggling quietly.
"Are you coming back with us or are you staying here?" Niall asked
"I think I'll come back.. no place for me here.. All the rooms are occupied".
"Fine so whenever you're ready" Niall whispered letting me know he had enough of my family for one day.
"I'm ready.. Oliver, feel like staying with me tonight?" I asked my brother as I was getting ready to leave.
"Yeah. Sounds good to me"
We load up to the car.
I let Oliver sit in front so he can stretch his long legs.
"Ni put the heating on we're freezing" I say rubbing my hands together. "Your wish is my command" he turns the heating on. He drives slowly through the pouring rain.
"Do you always drive this slowly? Or only when Jamie’s in the car?" Oliver smiled
"When it's raining and Jamie’s in the car" Niall winked at me through the rearview mirror.
"Nice to know" Oliver acknowledged.
"Remember the first time Jamie got into the car with you?" Eleanor spoke up from next to me.
"Can I forget?" Niall chuckled
"What are you laughing about that was scary" I sit up straighter making a face
"Sharing is caring" Oliver looked at us demanding an explanation.
"We were on our way to the movies. And we and Louie drove with Niall while Liam went with Zayn and Perrie. Anyway Jamie sat in front" Eleanor smiled wide
"Then Niall says he is really sorry but he's wearing heavy shoes so he can't really feel how much he is pressing down on the accelerator." I say
"Jamie was clenching her fists the whole way terrified. Once we got to the destination she said I'm a scary driver" Niall told Oliver "she asked to drive back with Zayn" Eleanor laughed
"How rude" Oliver shook his head at me.
"He got better" I smile tapping Niall's shoulder.
"My gosh Ni can you even see something through the window?!" Eleanor called out in alarm. The windscreen steamed up in a way we couldn't see a thing through it.
"That's why I stopped on the side I can't get it to disappear" Niall was wiping at it.
"Put cool air on" Eleanor suggested
"I did, not working" Niall looked at us "The steam is too thick". He and Oliver were wiping at the windscreen together until it cleared up a little. Niall started driving again even slower.
We were quiet the rest of the way not wanting to break his concentration.
I was just starting to doze off when suddenly a truck driving the other way sprayed us with a massive amount of water. Niall slammed on the brakes, which almost sent us into a spin. A big and loud gasp escaped my mouth. Miraculously Niall was able to stop the car.
"Gosh Jamie!" Oliver turned to me "Feel like giving us all a heart attack?"
"I myself need to restart me heart after this- Ni, you ok?" I ask him
"Blimey that was scary" Niall turned to us "Sorry about that"
"Not your fault let's get moving" I say

We finally get back to campus safely. We go up to our flat, Eleanor putting heating on while I heat up some water for tea.
"I want Louis and Liam to come over" I say
"This will be good" Niall takes out his phone. I text Zayn, telling him and Perrie to come along too.
Liam and Louis arrive with Harry. At first I was afraid it might be weird between Niall and Harry, but boys are boys and they've put it behind them.
Oliver fit right in with my friends even though his young age.
"So Liam" I start
"Oh no you don't! Jamie you're not talking him out of the bet" Louis says
"You can't just ask a girl out because of a bet! That is mean" I gesture at him.
"Wait what? You have it wrong!" Liam frowns at me "I'm not asking her on a date. Louie said that if I can get her to come to supper with all of us he'd give me 100 pounds"
"Come off it! You're not serious are you?" I'm gobsmacked. The things these boys come up with. "You know she'll come right?" I say to him
"Yeah mate, get my money ready" Liam smiles
"No she won't" Louis was happy with himself
"Liam tell her about the bet and that you'll give her 50 if she comes" Zayn laughed
"Gosh you guys are twits" I throw my hands up in defeat. I will never get the way their brain works.
"I would like to see this happen" Oliver is grinning at them "This sounds like it's going to be interesting"
"Sure is lad! Stick around long enough and you just might" Louis taps his arm.
"You're corrupting my brother now too? Jolly good" I sigh
"I didn't do a thing he came to this on his own" Louis promised me
"Yeah yeah.. what over"
"Well loves as much as I would like to stay and chat I really feel like going to bed" Perrie got up
"But it's only 23:30 and there are no classes on Saturday" Liam said
"Not for you but I have to be at the workshop" She pouts
"Will it be open if it snows?" Oliver asked
"Depends on how much snow I reckon why?" She looks at him
"None of you listen to the weather? It's supposed to snow tonight" He beams at us. Oliver loves the snow.
We sat there looking at him for a moment and then suddenly we all get up and run to the window pushing and shoving each other to have a look outside.
"No snow yet" Liam's head is sticking out
"Just wait" Oliver assures him.
"Well off we go love" Perrie tells Zayn.
"See you" He gives us a half wave as Perrie pulls him to the door
"Don't drown in the Puddles" Harry yells after them.
"So are we going to watch another movie then?" Liam asked looking at us
"Nooo.. not another movie" Eleanor threw a pillow at him.
"What do you feel like doing then?" Niall asked
"Why don't you make me some food?" She smiles up at him trying her best to break him.
"You have a boyfriend for that" He pointed at Louis with a winning grin
"Why don't you help him make us food?" I join in.
"Whose side are you on?" He looks at me
"Oh it's ok for you to always take the lads side but once I take El's then I should be on yours?" I say that really fast and they all stare at me. Then Oliver who is used to my sometimes fast comments repeats it.
"You win" Niall throws his hands to the air and gets to his feet.
"Come Harry you can help" Niall pulls him
"I'm sitting here quietly and somehow still get pulled in to work so unfair" He mumbles to himself
"No, life's not fair darling" Liam says from his spot on the sofa.
"Liam you'll be getting up in the minute to help as well" I say.
"It's SNOWING" Eleanor is jumping up with phone in hand.
"What? No it's not" Louis says from the kitchen
"Yes it is! just got a message from Perrie" She is running to the window.
"3..2…1" Liam whispers to me
"Heyyy no snow" She turn to us with a sad face
"Yep.. she lied to you" Liam is smiling with hands behind his head.
"You told her to text me?" El asked- hands on hips
"I'll never tell" Liam is besotted with himself.
"Your friends are quite hilarious Jay" Oliver is watching Eleanor and Liam pillow fight
"Liam if you break her" Louis warns him
At that moment there was a loud crash.
