The Replacement

The First Day

"Oh so that's why Leah hasn't been around. You have a replacement," the man in Harry's office sniggered, looking at Jessica who was at the table right outside the office. "Can I share this one too?"

Jessica heard the entire conversation and she shuddered when he mentioned "replacement" and if he could "share" as if she was an object.

"No," Harry said bluntly while he signed the documents the man handed to him earlier. Jessica heaved a sigh of relief, thinking he at least have some form of humanity. "Not this one."

"Not this one?" Jessica thought, eyes widened."That means, previously he has been sharing his women."

"Why not? Come on Harry. You hit the jackpot this time round. She's fucking hot and look at her, dress so elegantly. You know what they say, the less you reveal the more people wonder," the man tried to whisper but Jessica could hear everything.

"I said no and I mean it, Greg. Now, I'm done with these. You can leave my office," Harry said sternly as he returned the documents to Greg. "Jessica, could you please come in"

Jessica rolled her eyes and breathed out to calm herself down before she walked in. Greg licked his tongue out, glancing at her and then winked as he walked past her. Jessica's eyes remained transfixed at Harry and ignored whatever Greg was doing.

"Yes?" Jessica asked as she crossed her arms, standing in front of Harry's desk.

"I wanted to thank you for getting the tasks I assigned you done promptly. You've met Greg. I want you to meet those at this level. Let me take you on a tour before we head down for lunch, shall we?" Harry smiled.

"Oh you don't have to, I've went through the employee's list and match the names with their faces. And I've spoken to most of them at this level while I was at the printer."

Harry frowned, "Who have you spoken to?"

"I believe besides Greg and myself, you don't remember the rest of their names so why bother?"

"Fair enough. You're good. Very good. I'm impressed. You'll be extremely helpful at social events. I don't remember names."

"Isn't that what Leah and your other secretaries were for?"

"Not really," Harry chuckled. "Most of them were horrible. Leah was the best so far."

Jessica grimaced in disgust at how he kept reminding who she was replacing. Harry got up from his seat, took Jessica's hand in his and whispered into her ear, "Let's see what else you are better at." And with that he smiled and pulled her to follow him out of the office.

"Good afternoon, Mr Styles and Ms Watson," Harry's driver greeted them as they got into the car. "Where are you heading to?"

"My apartment, Joe," Harry replied.

"Weren't we having lunch?!" Jessica asked hysterically.

"Calm down. We are. At my place," Harry said, face expressionless.
